ColourLex is focused on the common ground between Art and Science. Scientific investigation of a painting and its pigment analysis help us to appreciate its artistic value and deepen their understanding of artist’s working method an d his approach in creating his work.The website is constructed along two intertwinned subjects: paintings and pigments. The main subject of a page on each individual painting is the analysis of pigments used in its creation. Each page contains also other relevant information on the painting and a collection of written and online resources.
