Coloread is an ed-tech startup developing an e-learning platform for teachers who work with struggling readers and low-literate students. At Coloread, they created a solution that empowers people to acquire foundational English skills. The platform developing a literacy targeting system that assigns colors to sounds so that struggling readers are able to figure out what sound is produced by which letter and when. The platform is named after its underlying, patented pedagogy, which utilizes colors as diacritics. The Coloread font is an in-house development designed to cater to the needs of learners with dyslexia. It supports both sound-to-letter and letter-to-sound instruction. The progress shown by the Sudanese students during the prototype-testing exceeded all expectations and prompted the development of the Coloread platform.
