Central Insurance Office was started in 1922 as a spin-off of the Monroe Bank and Trust Company. Anti-trust laws had been enacted that prevented a single entity from banking and selling insurance simultaneously. Monroe Bank was eventually bought by the Bank of Mississippi, later Bancorp South. Central Insurance Office, Inc. is a full line independent agency that offers modern day expertise with old fashion service.
