BrainStore was founded in 1989 by Markus Mettler. In 1990 Nadja Schnetzler joined the team and the first collaborative innovation projects began in Switzerland in 1993. By 1994 version 1.0 of the Idea Machine was in operation, and in 1995 Idea Events began taking place.
