At Boom Salad they believe that video gaming is a socially important and continuously evolving cultural phenomenon. As such, they think it deserves a greater degree of consideration than simply how many units were sold in the quarter, or page after page of videos of pure virtual mayhem. Their mission is to provide the discerning gamer with thought-provoking and often challenging articles that promise to delve deeper into the social significance and cultural influence of video gaming. Their goal is to be more than just a site of “Tips and Tricks” (though they have those too). They strive to become the web’s first Intellectual Gamer’s Monthly (IGM). Gaming culture is the product of the greater culture. They will therefore talk about that as well. In other words, they believe that “BOOM,” can come from all kinds of explosives: physical, social, psychological, PHILOSOPHICAL, and that’s what they hope to deliver. So don’t be surprised if they write about other subjects as well as gaming. It can happen.
