Doreen Bell, an 89-year-old retired office manager and widow, has enjoyed a life full of adventure and inventiveness. Born and raised in Dyess, Arkansas, she married a sailor and spent almost two decades traveling and living at various posts. Doreen, a lifelong fan of gardening, needlework, and science fiction, turned to writing when her vision problems forced her to forgo her other hobbies.
