Since it was founded as a university spin-out company in mid-2004, Berand has remained fully independent and its original founders remain the major shareholders. Presently, Berand's research operations are based in the Conway Institute at University College Dublin and its offices are located at NovaUCD in the Belfield Innovation Centre.
