Azure Biotech, Inc. is a newly formed, privately held women’s health company led by a team of seasoned pharmaceutical executives. The founding team identified a unique opportunity to repurpose a pharmaceutical asset with data in more than 15,000 women to address an unmet medical need in a growing market. Azure Biotech recently licensed the compound, lasofoxifene, and all associated know-how from Ligand Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for the development of a novel formulation targeting an underserved market. Initial funding is currently being raised to complete formulation work and preclinical studies with the new formulation.
