The Australian Taxi Industry Association (ATIA) was formed by State and Territory based taxi associations to represent the Australian Taxi Industry on national issues. Since its formation, the ATIA has been an effective voice articulating the Industry’s position and working with the Federal Government and its agencies to find workable solutions to legislative, regulatory and policy matters. ATIA advocates that a strong and viable taxi industry is best placed to develop and implement innovative passenger transport solutions. This allows taxis to maximise their contribution alongside mass transit providers (bus, rail and trams) for a safe and effective public transport system. The Executive Committee of the ATIA meets regularly to discuss issues and opportunities, and holds an annual conference to brief the Industry on progress and outcomes.
