Perseid Therapeutics LLC was founded in September 2009 as a joint venture between Maxygen, Inc. and Astellas Pharma Inc. to co-develop Maxygen's technology assets in protein pharmaceuticals, including MAXY-4, a next-generation CTLA4-Ig. Under the terms of the agreement, Astellas received worldwide rights to commercialize MAXY-4 for autoimmune disease and transplantation.
