AeonClad was formed in 2007 to develop an advanced coating technology platform to address the need to control the interaction of novel materials with their local environments through technology licensed from the University of Texas, Arlington. AeonClad, as a specialty coatings company, was founded on the pioneering research of Dr. Richard Timmons and his team. AeonClad is funded and managed by innovation solutions company, Emergent Technologies, Inc. In 2009, AeonClad established AeonClad Biomedical, LLC as a subsidiary to focus on drug delivery and medical device markets. In 2013, AeonClad established AeonClad Innogrative Composites to focus on industrial additive and filler markets. AeonClad Coatings continues to focus primarily on industrial applications, including semiconductor, paints and coatings, flame retardant, oil and gas, and chromatography industries, among others.
