AdsCollect crawls digital version of newspaper to detect ads. AdsCollect creates an index of that corner of internet which is otherwise invisible on conventional search engines. News published on todays' newspaper can be searched using many search engines. Searching for a Tender notice or Job circular published next to that news wont be that easy. Digital version of newspaper or epaper is published on AJAX based interface which makes them difficult for conventional search engines to crawl and index. There is also lack of context for contextual search engines to index such an image. AdsCollect uses machine learning to detect ads, then comes Optical Character Recognition(OCR) which provides the vital context of the ad. Natural Language Processing(NLP) is used to index the text obtained by OCR. AdsCollect as a free service relies on "adwords for newspaper" business model. Bringing the intuitive experience of running a campaign on Adwords/Facebook for print media advertisers is the current goal of this start up.
