They are currently developing the technology of a multi-level digital signing of JPEG files (like generally known and widely used digital signing of PDF files). The same technologies for files in PDF format have been developed by Adobe Systems and currently widely used, but there is no same solutions for files in JPEG format. Nevertheless, this technology may be popular because it may answer to questions like “Is this JPEG image has been modified or not?”, which in practice means the opportunity to prove the authenticity of a photo shot. Moreover, this technology can identify what area on an image has been edited. The main problem of this project is that it looks like very global project. Say, this technology assumes that initial signature will be written to an image by camera, therefore, all camera manufacturers should accept this technology.
