AbleVillage was founded and designed by two families with disabled children and a nationally renowned Doctor of Psychology (former faculty at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine). Together these founders recognized the enormous need for (1) a social networking site as a communications vehicle and "voice for the disabled", (2) for connecting individuals with providers and therapists to assist them in planning a comprehensive treatment program; (3) the need for a comprehensive "up to date" FREE provider directory.
