Ignatius Press is an exemplary Catholic book publishing organization. I’ve ordered from them many times and in the past have recommended them very highly.

However, I do not recommend purchasing gift certificates on their website. You may have a better experience purchasing gift certificates by calling customer service on the phone for processing. I have had very negative experiences with purchasing gift certificates on the website. I was given an order confirmation that the gift certificates had been delivered to my email address. I checked. They were not. And yes, I checked spam, too.

I followed up with both the phone number and email given in the order delivery confirmation. I was told by the representative at that phone number that both the phone number and email given in the order delivery confirmation were wrong and that I needed to email a technical web help desk. Any further discussions with a human being about the issue is an impossibility.

Ignatius Press does not seem to have a proper process in place for processing gift certificates purchased on their website. They should spare otherwise loyal and happy customers a lot of frustration and just not offer that option.

Moral of the story: if you wish to give gift certificates to Ignatius Press to friends and family for Christmas, definitely call the customer service phone line and place the order with a real human being who will be able to help you if there is a problem.

I have, in fact, emailed the web tech group at Ignatius Press. I hope to hear from them soon. We shall see how it works out.
