Scammed — excessive import fees, refused refund, improper charges

I placed an order at Savait.com, order value was US$189.40 total with shipping US$214. When the package arrived in the U.S, I was asked to pay about US$120 in import/duty fees. The U.S custom duty should be around $40-$55 based on my $189 purchase for apparel. I did not receive the order and it was sent back to them, Savait.com then issued a partial refund of $28. They illegally deducted unpaid import duties even thought I never imported the order and received it, charged for returned shipping cost and also their custom re-import fees. So not only did they charge for import fee for the items I didn’t receive but they also charge me for their import fee for receiving it back. Regardless of their terms & conditions, this is illegal.

I did not receive the item, therefore I should have been refunded in full (minus possibly the original shipping). Instead they kept hundreds of dollars. I asked for a lawful refund. They refused.

Savait.com is untrustworthy. They misrepresent costs, add bogus fees, and steal money from customers. I strongly warn anyone considering buying from them, it’s a scam.
