Extremely expensive for what you get

We recently spent a weekend at Point Plomer Holiday Cabins staying in Red Hibiscus.
Before I begin, Point Plomer is a beautiful place in its own right and is a great part of the world to visit.
With regard to our accommodation - 3 nights were originally booked but due to a work commitment we could only stay for 2 nights. Cost per night $265; cancellation fee $132.50 = $662.50 effectively making our cost per night $331.25. The house needs serious updating; it was dark, dirty, poorly furnished, poor colour scheme, minimal power points, poor ventilation in the dated bathroom (mold on the ceiling), no bedside lights, no ceiling fans only pedestal fans which would be ok if there were more well placed power points but as it was they needed to be plugged into the only available power point in the kitchen and bedroom; no privacy vegetation between houses. And you need to bring all bedding, towels, tea/hand towel, toilet paper, bin liner, water.
So, in conclusion we were charged an excessive amount, and I will certainly not be revisiting this accommodation. The cabins are the only permanent accommodation available in Plomer and the owners are taking full advantage of this. In my opinion you should buy a tent and camp in the camping ground which is very well maintained and a lot cheaper.
