Tyrrells property inspections
Better going elsewhere
My lawyer engaged Tyrrells to conduct a building inspection after our statutory warranty claims were ignored by the builder of a highly defective five-townhouse development. Tyrrells subsequently issued a report that, in my view, significantly undervalued the extent of the defects and associated rectification costs. To verify this, I sought independent input from another licensed builder, who confirmed that extensive repairs are required and raised serious concerns about the structural integrity of the building — including a suspicion that one or more beams may be missing, which could explain the visible bowing of the structure and the detachment of tiles from internal walls.
I had been assured that Tyrrells were reputable and independent; however, my experience has been completely the opposite, extremely disappointing and has raised substantial doubts about the impartiality and thoroughness of their inspection. Tyrrells appeared to dismiss or downplay several serious issues. For example, the report ignored numerous drummy tiles and areas of efflorescence, despite these defects potentially being linked to underlying issues with the concrete slab or structural movement.
In my opinion, Tyrrells failed to properly assess the building against accepted construction and safety standards, and their findings do not reflect the true condition of the property. My lawyer is now seeking a genuinely independent expert to provide an objective inspection and report.
This experience has caused significant stress, financial loss, and delay in resolving critical building defects. Based on my experience, I believe Tyrrells have demonstrated a lack of professional integrity and independence, and I would not recommend them to anyone seeking a fair and accurate building inspection.
