They might not accept your insurance even when they say they will.

Treasure Valley Therapy’s online portal makes it look like they accept your insurance — they even let you select your plan, which gives the impression you're covered. But in reality, this just means they might accept it, and in my case, they did not.

They also collect your payment information upfront so they can bill you immediately. Instead of charging me a co-pay, they charged me the full out-of-pocket rate as if I didn’t have insurance at all — even though my family’s out-of-pocket maximum had already been met with other providers.

Afterward, they offered to submit the visit to my insurance, but weeks went by with no updates. When I checked directly with my insurance company, I found out nothing had been submitted.

To make matters worse, I received text messages that came across as condescending, suggesting I didn’t understand how insurance works and offering to “walk me through it.” The truth was very clear: my deductible was fully met, and they should have billed my insurance properly from the start.
