Pigeon water kettle, bad design, bad shop service

I bought a Pigeon water kettle for my mother age 91. The lid design is such that it normally doesn't stay open when you attempt to fill water. The only way is to force it back but when you try to close it the front part of the lid sticks out and the lid doesn't close. You then need to force slide it back to its original position. My mother could not operate this badly designed kettle. Kundan Electronics said they would talk to the Pigeon representative and get back to me. Two weeks later I went to the shop but a certain person wasn't available to give me the status of my complaint. They would call me but they didn't. I had to call the shop the next day, still no news. A little later they called back to say the kettle could be picked up. When I went to the shop there was nothing done about the kettle. They said the kettle was ok and if I had wanted to return the unit I should have immediately returned the unit without using instead of coming one month later (Due to distance I could not pick up the kettle from my mother earlier). When I pointed out that the design had shortcomings which my mother could not override the shopman, age about 50, demonstrated that if he could do the required process steps then my 91 year old mother could also do it. Such bad customer service from Kundan. They like to sell you everything but if you have a problem they don't look for a solution instead they justify that they don't sell bad products. My suggestion is to buy online then you can return if the product doesn't work as it should. Anyway I smashed the kettle outside their shop and u bought a really nice one directly from Prestige.
