Watershed Hotel - Darling Harbour Review

Great food. Terrible service. Will not be coming back because of it :)

The worst nightclub (Carpe Diem - NYE - 31 December 2019) that I have ever been in my life with rude staff (doormen), messy event organization, and non-professional photos as they had announced on facebook (misleading advertising). Only food and fireworks were good, the last didn't organize by them (thanks God!). One thing I'm sure, I'll never pay for any event in this place again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

We had the vegetarian risotto & sweet potato chips (fries) which were so good!!! Super value for money

Good location, good food and the service was attentive when needed

No hassling at the entrance. Get own menus and order at the bar. Meal was huge and tasty. Service was a little slow, the seagulls had a feast at a near table. Good music and atmosphere.

The Watershed has no lockouts, which takes it from an ok venue to an excellent one in my books. Staff were professional and the cover wasn't too expensive - all up a good place to go with friends on the weekend.

First time ever going a beer at darling harbour accompanied by awesome friends :) and of course my beaut wife :)

Booked a table on there website & arrived to our table for 4 people. Unfortunately the party next to ours took 2 chairs & a table. Went to the bar for a $47 bottle of Chardonnay & it was warm in ice bucket which was very disappointing. The food was very average for the money charged. Noticed other people arriving to booked tables & not ready on time of booking. Staff try hard but there appears to be no system to smoothly seat people who booked. Overall not good & would not recommend this venue as there are much better places nearby.

Fantastic seafood platter, bottle of champagne, a free cocktail and desert for $99. Amazing value

We had the seafood platter which came with lobster. Very nice view over darling harbour. Lovely lunch.

Cool place to hangout in darling harbour. Drink ..crowd n people there are awesome...if you are lucky..whether you are a guy or a girl..trust me you will come alone from there...i hope you understand what i mean..cheers

This bars location is amazing & one of the only bars on the harbour that still serve this delicious beer in its proper glass or even serve it at all. The staff are always happy & the service is great!

Terrible service, advertised happy hour outside and then asked for it and they denied it, said it was a mistake. Then when ordering they were extremely rude. Seen other people leave because of the service as well, won't be going back

Refused entry wearing New Balance shoes because they were "sports shoes". Despite this the females in our group wearing similar Asics shoes didn't have an issue. I was happy to attend the Star Casino instead.

The toilets are ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Havent been hosed or cleaned since the place opened. The wonderful manager decided to tell the dj to turn up the outside music so loud that nobody could even communicate and all you could hear were distorted speakers. The only thing going for this place is a view which you cannot enjoy anyway.

Nice atmosphere, some decent beers on tap great to sit and enjoy the view, food isn't anything to write home about though

Say they are open late then the security instantly say get out.

Got kicked out with a bunch of frds because they assumed we were drunk but actually we were just dancing normally. We spend more than 200 dollars. The security is just racist since we are whites and they are Indians and blacks. Australia wake up!!

Really disappointed food ok waited an hour for a snitzel

Had a group,of 26 , on arrival Manager was very helpful setting up tables, ironing tablecloths. Looked after us. He alone I have the rating of 2. Out of 26 meals, 3 had no complaints. The food reviews on this place are totally correct. Terrible Would not return ever. Steaks were inedible . Seafood was over done. Deep fried to death. Pizza was cardboard. Inedible also. Tourists would not be impressed if eating in Sydney for first time. For,the money spent in this establishment, awful.

With one of the most amazing views of Sydney, located in Darling Harbour, The Watershed is a terrific place to go! Full of beautiful people and with a great menu! Sometimes the songs that are played there are not so good but it is definitely a must-see place!

Place too small, bad service and really really really expensive, one beer $17. It does not work, in my life I'll be back.

Had a meeting, had not had lunch so shared rosemary fries.

I had a pleasent experience there on New year's eve. The best thing about that night was the music and the dancing. The DJ was right on point. From Justin Timberlake to Queen,Justin Biber to Pitbul and Sharika, he played them all.
From my experience, if you are planning to party here, you should come in a bit earlier (around 8:30) or else you will stay on the queue forever. Also it is better to get the tickets online and enjoy the VIP experience.
The food was ok. I think they need to have better presentation. They had a set menu of 3 items only that night, which could be because of how busy they were. The reason i was not happy was that i had ordered a Tacos and i was litterally handed the food on a piece of paper on my hand. How do you expect me to carry it around my table? My burger and chips were good though. Again, it lacked presentation. There was nothing picturesque about it that i didnt bother taking a picture. But the taste was good. I took my time with the food, and the lettuce and chips were still crispy by then. That was impressive. The patties were good on flavour too, not too fatty or heavy and nicely seasoned.
I dont think i will get food from them again but will certaily come to dance.

The bar is quite expensive, a large part of the area is usually blocked off during events. However, this hotel hosts some good events.

Went in a group for a prepaid Hens night event.
Disappointed by an ability to cater well for food allergies and preferences.
So much untouched food is just thrown away!
Staff were cold and disinterested.
Venue was chilly. We had no view of the water despite being a special event group- we were hidden away.
I would not return.

How can you Say fun on a Saturday night, that's easy..."Watershed!!!" The best and most professional venue we have had the pleasure of working with, especially the I love Saturdays Crew...Thank you for all your contribution you have give our business. 5 stars highly recommeneded

Great atmosphere by the harbour.
Went on a Friday evening, and despite being relatively busy there was still plenty of space. Mains are served late, with fast service. The menu is a decent size, albeit it is very affordable and the portion sizes are fairly big - the spicy calamari is great.
The bar can be fairly busy however there were heaps of staff on so it wasn't too long of a wait. Note the bar is at the top end of prices compared to the lower price of their mains menu, so watch out as it adds up very quickly.
With the city skyline and a view of the harbour it's definitely a recommended venue for a casual meal and drinks.

Love the service and the fact that they have removed straws completely

Ordered a drink scotch on the rocks...only to be served in a schooner glass. I asked for a smaller glass & was told all the glasses they had were schooners.

Went a few nights ago... chicken schnitzel was dry and the side salad wasn t tasty. Bartenders were quite rude. Security very friendly. Bathrooms semi clean.

If you wear white trainers your fine to get in, if you got plain black trainers on then like me you may be refused entry!!

Meals are HUGE, but very yummy and price appropriate!! Bar staff are very approachable and accommodating, we had a great night here!

The food was above average. The stuff we're not the best help however the front house manager (Hemraj Ramkalam) look after us and ensure my niece had a great 18th.

I personally just came to hang out with my cousin, I'm not very into night life, but this place played some good old school music... Dance floor was full

The Watershed is in a great location in Darling Harbour. It is a large bar with a decent selection of drinks. The best part about the Watershed is the meal deals -there are lots of deals around but the food and views at Watershed make this bar worthwhile for an ad hoc meal.

This was a great place for lunch on a day off. Quick service and plenty of food to choose from and great selection of beers.

Extremely poor service from Chris, the manager. After my friends phone was locked in the charging machine, fot and hour and a half, he finally got staff to contact the charging company to get it out.... And then get kicked out.

Went here for a friend's hens. We were seated outside which was fine but the food was served cold and in take away containers.

Amazing value lunch deals between 12-3, will be back to try the rest of the menu. Watch out for flying chip thieves though!

Not great. First they didn't have our lunch booking, thank goodness we had an email confirming it. They lost my order, I had to ask 3 times and finally got my meal as everyone else nearly finished. Coffee was lukewarm. None of us will return.

Kicked put two people on a private reservation but when questioned, could not answer why. Rory as the manager for this situation, who was very unreasonable and unacceptable to his behaviour; from a previous superviser/ bar tender for many bars in australia.

It is moderate taste. It's not as cheap as all the nearby restaurants.

Went there for a full moon party event. The club itself is on the small side. The crowd was nice because of the event. Second floor was playing Latino music, which was great. First floor tho, the music was like top 40 from 10 years ago and they repeat songs! Which I ve never see before.

Quite a small area, a lot of the area was blocked off when I went there. The events hosted there are good!

we ordered the ribs and a steak which arrived at our table less than five minutes after we'd sat down. i was surprised to find that food that was cooked so quickly was impeccable without being pretentious. the view was outstanding and the vibe was great - being a pub without too many loud patrons, just a lot of friends catching up for a beer and a bowl of wedges. if you're in the area forego any other chain steakhouses (which i won't name) and have some authentic aussie pub food. also great for date night/first dates ;-)

The Watershed is good for a catch up with friends and knock off drinks.

A great place to sit and just watch the city and tourist life crawl by. Always been served by friendly bartenders!

Very Rude staff. Had an incident with the security guard at the front door ( dark Indian looking guy) who swore at us under his breath, was rude, and then mumbled to the Asian chic about us (to try and make it difficult for us for entry), who continued to be rude to us.Overall, very bad experience. Walked away deciding not to pay $60 entry for two hours. All this after I said, you made us walk all the way around the block to go to Kandy.
