What an amazing tour! Maybe we got extremely lucky but we got incredible shots and the orcas swam toward us and got very close. The tour guide was very informative and the captain (ex pilot) was funny, knowledgable and so kind!

The crew, which consisted of our guide , Sara and captain Mike, were fabulous. Sara knew when to talk and when to let us enjoy the view. We found 2 groups of humpback whales, a few seals and sea lions. I appreciated the option to pre-purchase a bag lunch too. It was a great day.

The process is very fast and seamless. I bought the tickets online while in Singapore. Rent a car and park near the office. There is a big parking area near the office. Less than 5min walk. They will bring you to collect your Explorathor Suits and you are on your way to whale watching.

The whole session normally is about 2-3 hours but we didnt manage to catch the whale. And I was thinking whether we need to come back tomorrow to catch it as they will give you another ticket to redeem and there is no expiry date if you didnt get to see the whale, so they spend another 1-2 hours talking with other companies to see whether they have sighted whales.

We did indeed see some whales but quite far away not sure whether its because its a pack of killer whales. So I was quite disappointed. But its quite a new experience.

What I suggest is bring more water and food!! Anyway you can put on the seat as it was quite spacious. haha

Not sure whether they have this program, I heard from my friend who went to Australia for whale watching and they are able to get into the water and swim around the whale!! How cool is that.

Amazing experience! Been with the family on the Explorathor II. A fast yet very comfortable boat. The captain and guide were very nice and knowledgeable and we learned a lot from them about killer whales and other animal species in this area. This company has four boats and a remarkably large network with other boats and people who live on the water. Therefore, the chances of locating the whales and seeing them are very high. We have seen a lot and enjoyed it!

Highly recommended! We came for the killerwhales and we were not disappointed. With two adult males swimming past within 20m of the boat. The orcas we saw were from the fish-eating family group. The humpback whale also came swimming close by after the captain had switched off the engine to minimize disruption. The guide knew a lot about the area and showed that the welfare of the animals is very dear to her heart. All in all a fantastic day. An absolute must.

Vancouver whale watching Friday September 20, 2019

Very impressed with how professional and helpful your team has been, from my initial booking to being dropped back off in downtown Vancouver. The 12 passenger open zodiak most thrilling boat ride searching for the whales felt very comfortable and safe. The orange suit kept us warm and dry.

Beautiful pristine surroundings. Spotted our first pod of 4 orcas not too far from shore. We spend a decent amount of observing them in the wild. We saw a humpback whale from afar who decided to go for a long dive. Waited a little bit to see if it would come up, then we went further out. Our Captain Mike and Guide Sue were as excited as we were looking for whales and other wild life. We saw the Stellar and California sea lions, porpoises, jumping salmon and different kind of birds.

The second time we encountered the orcas, they swam around and also towards us which allowed us plenty of time to make beautiful photos and videos. We were amazed and enchanted by the full display of their natural behaviour. Jumping out of the water, hunting for food, playing together, resting and spy hopping on us.

Captain Mike and Guide Sue are a great team! Thank you both for sharing your vast experience, knowledge and enthusiasm with all of us, to make this tour a trip of a life time! And we have been on a whale tour of the southern California coast and on a dolphin tour in the Mediterranean sea before. This whale watching adventure was a birthday gift for my brother Danny who is visiting from Holland. He totally loved it! Just like the rest of us.

Had such a great time. Saw 4 killer whales and 2 humpbacks! The company is clean (with COVID-19 precautions) and the guide gave us lots of info about the whales. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a relaxing adventure!

Thank you for the awesome experience. Right from the shuttle picking us up the experience was fun and interactive. The whole day was fun and it was great to learn about the whales and other species to add an educational experience to the trip. We will be back again! Thank you to all of your team!

My friend and I originally booked our watch concerned with not being able to see the orcas due to weather patterns. Vancouver whale watch was excellent in providing updates as wind patterns were proving to be too dangerous for the excursion. Once they rebooked us for a better day (informed us through early morning phone call)

The company excelled in very informative and responsive tour guides (though they could use a microphone / speaker) We were fortunate enough to find orcas within a span of 30 minutes and WOW what a feeling. Seeing these beauties in their natural habitat will be a forever lasting memory.

VWW provided gloves and beanies / jackets to keep you nice and toasty as the conditions can get fairly cold in the open sea. Though the watch was rather pricey it was worth every penny.

Had an excellent time with Vancouver Whale Watch. Everything was very well organized and our trip guide was very knowledgeable and took the time to come around to each person on our boat to see if they had any questions about what we saw over the course of our trip. The shuttle service getting us to the departure location was great as well. Our driver had some excellent commentary to make sure our ride wasn't a long, boring one.

We will definitely be recommending Vancouver Whale Watch to our friends and family!!

Ellen ( I think was her name) and Capt. Scotty were great on the Express. The ride to the whales was nice but the one back was really rough. Capt. Scotty was going really fast and I wanted to throw up at how rough the ride was. What these tours don't tell you is that even though the tour is 3-5 hours you will only see the whales for about an hour due to regulations which I understand. Having a really tall person sit in front of me while the 1 whale breached really sucked because I missed it but if you can sit up front do it! I wanted to see the whales in the wild so I flew from Florida and dream come true. I was able to book our tour for 4 the day before and the woman I spoke to was super friendly and organized. Also, parking for the tour is a couple of blocks away. We saw the orca pod and an eagle

I highly recommend this company :) Everyone is beyond friendly! My mom and I came up from Atlanta, Georgia to Vancouver. They have many shuttle stops and will pick you up many places. Our shuttle driver was Levi. He was hilarious and so kind! Our guide on the boat was Karl. He was very knowledgable about the area, all the animals, and cool facts. The captain was nice too, but I can not recall his name. We got to see a pod of Transient Orcas. It was amazing! We saw many Blade Eagles, Sea Lions, and Seals. The office is located in a little town call Richmond. It was a cute town, with lots of stores and food. The boat was great! Very spacious and plenty of room to move around. There is an upstairs area too. I would definitely go back!! :)

STOP this tourism! Watching our marine life from boat tours is hurting them. These highly acoustic animals need their space and rest. By participating in one of these tours you are directly involved in hurting a critically endangered population of killer whales.

Amazing tour! The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure everyone had a great time. The boats are really neat and it was a great ride, very comfortable. The ability to get a packed lunch was a nice touch, would definitely recommend it or bring your own food as it's 4-5 hours. We were so lucky to get great weather and a real show from the orcas. We saw a pod jumping out of the water, basically what you dream of when you think about a whale watching tour. Would highly recommend this on your visit to Vancouver. Also stick around the Steveston area for a bit before or after, so cute.

We went to Vancouver for our honeymoon, and the day we went whale watching was absolutely our favorite part and well worth the cost!

The shuttle pickup and drop off were timely, comfortable, and really helpful when you don't have a car available. All of the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. We went on the smallest vessel option, which I highly recommend (so long as you don't have any major back problems). It was like an awesome rolled coaster for 5 hours! We were fortunate enough to come across a pod of resident orcas, which was something we'll never forget.

I hope we can return again someday!

Vancouver Whale Watch was an excellent choice for our first ever whale watching excursion as a family. We went in July 2019 and had such a great experience we went a second and third time with them while vacationing in Vancouver. The guides and captains really care about the experience and knowledge. We saw a lot of different wildlife including Orchas and Humpback whales. The office staff was also great! Layer up for the trip but they do provide a coat and pants that work great for cold boat rides, as well as a snack and drink! I recommend asking about their shuttle that picks up at multiple Vancouver locations! I will absolutely be back with the family for more adventure!

We went in late October not knowing what to expect on the explorathor Ii, the first hour way thought the day was going to be a bust, then we found a snake humpback and the 2 more sets of 2 followed by sea lions, porpoises, bald eagles, seals and more. Our naturalist, Joan, was very knowledgeable and engaging, you can tell she loves her work and sharing, highly recommended

Gloomy day but we manage to see lots of whales! Although they are a little bit far away but the overall experience is great! No motion sickness, snacks were offered on the boat and water. Not the best seats but do come prepare, bring jackets!

This is an excellent experience. The trip to the orcas alone is worth the investment. Despite the distance that must be maintained between the boat and the animals, it is possible to see and follow the group of orcas for a long time. A tip: take binoculars and a camera with great zoom. Another tip: take food and sunscreen

We had a great time on the whale watch, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were able to see the Orcas. The water was a little rough, but the captain knew how to smooth it out and get us into position to get the marvelous looks at the whales.
