Haylea in the books department was an absolute treat! My mother was having great luck finding books while I was struggling. Haylea asked if there was anything in particular I was looking for. I mentioned I was interested in the Reese's Book Club books and she found me about 17 of them. The most expensive was 2.99. A great deal and without Hayleas help I wouldnt have found as many great books!

The best part of this place is the Starbucks coffee in the cafe. Over priced for sure had some okayish things Definitely doesn't live up to the hype and most definitely wasnt worth the hour drive.

Man, does this place get packed on the weekends. I mean packed. It's a fun place to go, you see alot neat items and it has alot of niche sections, and an indoor coffee shop. It's always clean and the staff is usually pretty helpful. Only thing I advise is if you go to the technology section, do a little bit of research beforehand on the item you plan to purchase and calling ahead to check if they have it is also a good idea.

My second visit was disappointing.
This place WAS fantastic a year ago. Now it seems like cheap junk brought in from overstocked thrift stores. What happened?

Always find great stuff here! They have everything from clothes to electronics to sports equipment, all priced really low. You really never know what you're going to find here, and I've spent hours in this store without even realizing it.

We heard alot about this place while visiting Alabama. Drove over an hour to get there and was quite disappointed. The store had alot to offer, but the prices were way too high. Do not think we will make that trip again.

Loved it in '12,'13,'14 - went back last summer and again around Halloween and their pricing has gone through the roof. No longer a destination. The shine is off this once great place.

Skip it and move on

Not worth a dedicated trip, just a higher quality thrift store with decidedly higher prices. Probably worth stopping by if you're in the area though. The non-clothing items are priced especially high with some items near 80% of retail for higher end and newer items with other stuff being pretty much exactly what you'd pay on places like eBay, which would be fine until you realize things like important accessories are missing that will cost you that extra 20% to replace, and then you won't have any kind of warranty support. Places like pawn shops at least cut prices enough to make that risk worth it. The employees were all good, it was clean--nothing unpleasant. It's just not really the value one would expect.

Could be awesome I guess. My wife finds the good deals on women's clothing. I did find some smoking deals on a few nice jackets. They could give out better deals on what they have. It's not like they paid for it.

Drove 4 hours to check out what seemed like a fun adventure. Very underwhelmed. Old dated clothing, zero organization. Struggled to make any sense their womens clothing department. Prices were comparable to retail in my hometown. I'm not sure how they calculate these prices. Don't make the drive as I brought 6 other ladies for what we thought would be a fun outing.

Never know what your going to fine at Unclaimed baggage. If you coming from out of town or local and never been you need to give yourself a few hours. Nice little resturant in it to chill while shopping. Packed store, ever know what you will find.

Amazing selection of items. I could literally spend hours in this place going through everything they have to offer. It was well laid out and all of the items are clearly labeled with their price. However many things were marked up, especially electronics, for more than used goods are worth.

Been twice. Purchased ipads, camcorder, laptop, shoes, men and women's clothing. Great prices on jewelry. We drove an hour out of the way to visit. Worth it due to the savings. They have clean bathrooms and a snack bar area with plenty if seating for those who have to wait on their shopping partners.

Unclaimed baggage is an interesting store to say the least. It s always a pleasant surprise to find a good deal on something you wanted wether it s sunglasses or shoes. I wouldn t recommend buying some of their items based on prices not being much lower than what they are new but if you go in with the right expectations you can have a good time shopping here.

My family went here to see Hoggle from The Labyrinth and ended up spending a lot more time than we anticipated here. There were some high-end quality clothes at discounts of 50-70%. One of my group members was selected to open and sort a suitcase in the early afternoon. Chasity was kind enough to explain how we could use the coupon and wish us well on the rest of our trip. If I visit Alabama again I ll be sure to stop here.

Take the time to look through the rotating selection of clothing, luggage and other random pieces that couldn't be reconnected with their owners. The items are always changing with some amazing finds in sunglasses, jewelry and small electronics. And don't forget the second building next store that contains additional categories of items.

People are stupid. I know that s probably not the way to start a review, but it is true. If you read the lower starred comments what is being written is laughable at best. Even articles about this store are ridiculous.

Here is the deal you should understand what this store is and how it works. It is not a Goodwill so if you are expecting to find a treasure for a steal then try again. This place sells unclaimed baggage meaning whatever comes in is what they sell. Some people complain about the look of the item or the shape that it is in and again I refer you to my first sentence above.

There is no guarantee that you will find a designer item, there is also no guarantee of the shape that it will be in. There are however, good deals on different things that you should look for.

Entry level designers are typically the first to be bought, so if you fancy Louis Vuitton or Gucci then you may want to arrive early because everyone else does too.

If you are looking for other designer brands they are there as well, you just need to look for them.

Now to my review: I went to the store and found an exceptional quality Goyard wallet. For those unfamiliar with Goyard, it is a quiet brand (no online shopping ((store itself) and no advertisements) and there are only so many stores. The wallet normally retails around 700 upwards and if you want used you can find some on the RealReal for around 525-595 depending on the quality and shape. I paid 180 and the item is in excellent shape. That is a fantastic deal, and is a reason why this store is special.

If you want an experience and have the opportunity to find great deals on select items then take the trip and come here, if you want lottery type deals then continue to live outside reality and try your nearest thrift or Goodwill store and maybe you will find those deals of a lifetime. The rest of you enjoy your trip, it definitely is worth taking.

Note: stay away from Michael Kors as you can literally find the brand everywhere, and since this one of the brands that some have complained about in Unclaimed Baggage; I just saved you the heartache.

Happy shopping!

Not everything in the store is a bargain by any means.. But there are some good deals. I got a $600+/- Hugo suit for $125 in great condition. It's definitely worth the trip if you're looking for clothes.

It's like they tried to make a thrift store a tourist destination--that's essentially all it is, though there are lots of thrift stores with better selection if you're somewhere that isn't in the middle of nowhere like this place is.

Prices are outrageously high. They however have a great selection. Nice cloths exc. But I went shopping at the unclaimed baggage thrift store looking for a bargain. I was needing cloths and low on cash. I wasn't able to afford anything there. I ended up haveing to buy at Walmart and not get everything I needed. Thrift shops are supose to be a thrifty shopping experience for people on low budgets not for the rich and elite. This was very disappointing for me. I shopped there many years ago and got some great deals. But that wasn't my experience there this time.

went here on our way home from a family reunion. Things are a little overpriced however we found a few macbooks from 350-650.00 that were unlocked which I was a little surprised about. Very crowded! maybe because it was a Saturday but there was a lot of foot traffic which made me nervous with the kids.

I had heard about UBC on some travel show a while back and promised myself that I would like to go there someday. Well, someday happened recently on a trip back east to the Southern States for a family visit and on the return drive I decided that it would be worth the considerable detour to check it out. Northern Alabama is quite picturesque and we enjoyed our drive to Scottsboro once we got off the Interstate highway. The next day we spent several hours at UBC. I was looking for a suitcase to replace mine that fell apart on the trip east and I was looking forward to snatching up a bargain. After all, lots of luggage goes unclaimed, right? I was sadly mistaken. I found one that would of met my needs, but when I checked the price. I was shocked! It was near full retail price for a new suitcase. I quickly went online and discovered several retailers selling a 5 piece set of the same brand for slightly more than what I would have paid for that used 2nd hand suitcase! My wife was looking for some deep totes for her craft projects but prices on those bags were higher than retail. I looked at the watches and didn't see very many familiar names; few Seiko or Bulova, etc., but dozens of the Nixon (Nixon?) brand. I asked the sales clerk if UBC was a Nixon dealer and she claimed that all of there merchandise was 'unclaimed'. I did find an excellent price on a digital SLR camera and extra lense and that day they were having a sale on iPads so I guess there are some bargains on certain items. The checkout process was agonizingly slow with several forms to fill out and then the need to go downstairs and wait on another line to pay. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. I guess for those in the Scottsboro area bargains can be found on sale items but with no online catalog and no plans to have one (welcome back to 1985!), UBC was a overall a waste of our time.

I remember going here when I was younger when it was open only twice a week. People were outside waiting for it to open...I remember when they had one in Decatur, loved that store. Now...well the locals call it Unclaimed Garbage, this should tell you alot. It's overpriced used goods. While the staff is friendly the pricing is staggering. Thrift stores are better organized and priced. Ebay has better recourse if you buy something defective. This was my last trip and I can no longer refer people here. The person I went there with, who had never been there before, was hugely disappointed, and looked at me while we were there like I had lost my mind. Sad, very very sad. Oh well .......

If you have the time to spend going through all the racks of over-priced stuff in order to find the few deals hiding there then you'll like this place. Tons of stuff available but much is pricey due to excellent condition and designer brands. You might luck up on something or you might not. If nothing else, it's a way to pass the time.

Good concept but overpriced. You can but luxury items brand new for less. The clerks (women) are also rude. The tech clerks (men) were knowledgeable and nice. The store is a trap with no return policy.

Avoid this store.

This place is amazing- I spent 5 hours here without even realizing it. They have deep discounts on everything from suitcases and clothes to electronics. And while you are there they are constantly bringing out new items. Its a little sad knowing that someone lost the items you are purchasing, but if you can move past that, It will be one of the most interesting shopping experiences of your life.
