Very smoky bar, and the drinks are expensive. But, on the plus side... it's supposed to be haunted by Hank Williams! At least the iphone ghost tour I was following said so -- but I didn't see anything. Maybe next time.

We paid a bit extra in order to sit at a VIP table while waiting outside The hostess was extremely attentive we were right next to the band and got to enjoy both the inside and the outside atmosphere around the bar

I feel like you really need to be drunk to enjoy the atmosphere here. What is very cool is it's three separate levels all having a different band. One level actually had two bands on the same level which was kind of odd and the music interferes with each other as there was one inside and one on the rooftop. There were so many Bridal parties you really couldn't hear the music only the obnoxious girls screaming and trying to sing. we had gone here during the day and thought we were really excited to go back in the evening but when we went back in the evening we quickly left.

Music filled bar with multiple levels of fun. Each floor had a slightly different theme with live music throughout. We went during January so it was chilly, but the roof top was still a nice place to hang out as long as you're bundled up.

THE LGBT COMMUNITY IS NOT WELCOME AT THIS ESTABLISHENT. My friend was harassed by both the women's and men's bathroom attendents and was forced to stand and wait to use the bathroom while the attendents let others in line use the bathroom. While this was happening the attendents called security and my friend was escorted out for simply being himself and trying to use the restroom. Civil rights have been violated. We have proceeded to take legal action against the bar.
Ps. General Manager of the bar, please retain a laywer, you'll need one.

Extremely crowded the night we went but what a great time. Definitely one of my favorite bars on Broadway. There was a great band playing downstairs and an even better band upstairs. Also a very nice rooftop area to see the city.

I loved this bar - the only downside was the female bathroom attendant - she made it very uncomfortable to use the restroom and almost scared me to use it again. If you go here, be sure to use the restroom prior to going to the bar.

The blond tall bar woman makes you feel uncomfortable as soon as you walk in. She waves at you immediately and she asks you to order a drink. Totally not welcoming. I felt attacked. Come on let people breath first. No one is stupid enough to stand there without a drink. So weird. There are so many other bars around. People have a big choice so please don't act like that.

SUPER crowded, the industrial A/C unit blows straight down on the people trying to hang out with their friends, even with two big ass fans and the garage doors open they couldn't keep the place cool... The band was great but the amount of people and the hoops you had to jump through to get a drink drove us out

SUCH a cool bar. Every level had a different performer and I truly loved them all. My favorite was the upstairs area because the band playing was KILLING IT. They played country songs and rock songs and did such a fun versatile variety. They were just really enjoying themselves which was fun to watch.

Overly pushy for tips for the band. Walked in the door and before one song had a guy begging for tips. And a new one for each floor. Drinks here are more expensive than most other bars nearby. And also was the most crowded. But it is a super interesting historical site. Go have a drink and move on.

If the Ryman is the another Church of Country music, Tootsies is the sister venue. Just take time and look at all the pictures on the wall! It will test your country-western music knowledge. Foods pretty good too! The bands are A+++.

Overrated. Bands are very mediocre compared to the rest of the strip (they rarely play actual country songs), it's insanely crowed (literally being shoved into others), bar staff is nice though.

Tootsie's always has great live entertainment and now that they've added the extra level, crowds aren't quite as bad as they used to be (although there is always a crowd there). Not the best place on Broadway for traditional country music (I recommend Roberts and the Second Fiddle for that), as the bands are often more entertainers than just singers. As is the case with many of the Broadway honky tonks, I'd stick with bottled beer, as they aren't known for their cocktails. It's hard to go to Tootsie's without having a good time.

About Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge

Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge is a legendary honky-tonk bar located in the heart of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Established in 1960, Tootsie's has been a staple of the Nashville music scene for over six decades and has played host to some of the biggest names in country music history.

The bar is named after its founder, Hattie Louise "Tootsie" Bess, who was known for her warm hospitality and love of music. Tootsie's quickly became a popular spot for musicians to hang out after their shows at nearby venues like the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry.

Today, Tootsie's remains one of Nashville's most beloved institutions and continues to attract both locals and tourists alike. The bar features live music seven days a week on three different stages, with performances ranging from up-and-coming artists to seasoned veterans.

In addition to its impressive musical pedigree, Tootsie's is also known for its unique decor. The walls are covered with photos and memorabilia from country music legends like Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, and Hank Williams Sr., giving visitors a glimpse into Nashville's rich musical history.

But Tootsie's isn't just about the past - it also plays an important role in shaping Nashville's future as a cultural hub. The bar regularly hosts events that showcase local artists and musicians, helping to foster creativity within the city.

If you're planning a trip to downtown Nashville, be sure to stop by Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge. Whether you're looking for great live music or just want to soak up some authentic Southern charm, this iconic honky-tonk is not to be missed.
