Only reason not to give a 5 star is that there is NO parking! NO shuttle service that we knew of. NO warning on their website about parking. After driving around for a good 20 minutes we got told that the parking lot was full but there were still space in another lot which everyone was driving too. We ended up dropping off some people and then parking a 20 minute walk away. Two of us missed the first half of the Canada vs Germany women's soccer game.

Taking my father to the game on August 20th, he has trouble walking, and has a disabled parking permit. Upon calling the stadium I was informed that disabled parking spots are for season ticket holders only. I'm blown away by the incredible disregard for people in my situation. All that money on that stadium and this is the result. I hope the game tomorrow and the venue are good at least.

Despite the gates that deter people from trespassing onto the property, little do people know that this facility not only hosts football games but it also hosts soccer games and the City of Hamilton uses part of the Stadium for extracurricular activities which are free to the General Public.

I've worked here in Field Operations.

WORKING SIDE
Alot goes on here to get ready and close up for each game and can be alot of work. However the people here are amazing and you don't need to go to the gym afterwards haha. They do a great job keeping the stadium in good shape and maintained. They are very positive and will work around schedules. And as someone working in field operations you get to watch most of the game while you work since main part of job during game is to retrieve and return the game ball. And then closing everything down. This is a good place to work if you're looking to make some extra money while enjoying your work!

CUSTOMER SIDE
There is alot of seating for games. If you buy a game ticket beforehand you can use it to gain free access to rides on tiger cat buses with HSR. When you get there, there is a bar called the stipley. As well as a cors light patio and an assortment of restaurants and shops along the sides of stadium. And then you also get to enjoy a CFL game for the night!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Tim Hortons Field which used to be called Ivor Wynne Stadium till 2012 and originally opened in 1928 and it is home to the CFL's Hamilton Tiger Cats!!! The stadium is currently able to hold just under 29,000 people inside and also has a massive bar called the Stipley.

Ask locals and you ll have mixed reviews: field was built for PanAm games, and since then has had financial and MGMT troubles/ fights between city/Developers/Contractors/Ticats management etc but is looking like that s begetting resolved ( was built quick and cheap so apparently the defects list was a mile long: you look closely and you ll already see rusties on some railings, unfinished bits and pieces etc)
In any event the field is now bordered by two schools and a community centre (opening 2019) so the whole area is poised to be a cultural/community/ events hub one way or another.
Until the LRT is built there s also issues on game day with fans arriving: stuff 15-20k people into a neighborhood and area with no parking and chaos is usually the result. If it s nice, park elsewhere (>1km) and walk, or try for the busses, because otherwise you are either paying a local to park on their lawn or circling endlessly in heavy traffic on side streets.

The field and facilities themselves are great: nothing better than an afternoon/early eve football game and the crowd and energy, next years start of Forge FC soccer won t hurt either.

Food is just meh (business idea : get more local establishments involved) and beer selection is dire ( save for Bench Brewery. Another business idea / support local breweries! Grain and Grit/Fairweather/Merit/Clifford/Shawn&Ed/West Avenue - Come on Tim Hortons management! Support LOCAL!)

One tip: if you know it ll be blazing hot and you are buying tickets day of, go Top West - trust me - you ll appreciate the shade!

Always a fun time at hortons field. The hamilton fans are in a league of their own. I'm not into football let alone CFL. I loved it. I went with my 2 son's and their friends and we had an amazing time. The crowd is so awesome, you feel like part of the family!!
