The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort Review

I would not stay again. Location really is inconvienient at night compared to hotels in surrounding area. Upcharges everywhere and their room service menu after 11pm is literally an $18 salad and two sandwiches. Gentlemen at desk seemed nice enough but knew nothing of the surrounding area and gave incorrect information about sites on premises. This was the first time trying Hotwire's pay and see, figured it was four star so what the hell, so my own fault I guess.

We just stopped in to rest for a night on the road. It was great ,excellent views a couple restaurants and really close to downtown. With shuttle service and a boat shuttle provided. We will definitely be back when we have more time. Best thing they are pet friendly

Very disappointed, we stayed for the weekend. They did not clean our room til 5pm after we had to been gone all day and had to request it be cleaned. Manager was rude and said there is no disclosed cleaning time and can be up to 7pm to clean the rooms for customers who do not check out. We were told the empty rooms get cleaned first. They did not disclose $18 per day parking fee at check in. We got billed at check out for the parking and a $30 resort fee. Beds were nice and comfy.

There is a free ferry from the hotel to downtown which is so nice.

Docks are really slow to respond because of COVID restrictions, but really nice spot close to downtown

We used the marina dock. Ideally situated on the sunny side of Savannah river. New repaired dock.

This place is wonderful, the staff are so generous with offering to help in anything. The golf course and spa is a spot for his and her entertainment. We will always stay here because it's close enough to River Street to have fun and just a quick ferry ride away. I would recommend the Savannah Westin to anyone with kids two legged and four.. #petfriendly WB

At best, a very average operation. Housekeeping is very poor. In two consecutive days our room and the room of our travel companions was not cleaned at all. One must ask at least two times before a simple request is fulfilled. Food at the breakfast buffet is either cold, stale, or both. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Disappointed with the wait staff at the midnight bar. A forty minute wait with no help at all. Called for someone and repeatedly ignored. No professionalism. I got up and just left the place with the others with me who were ignored as well.

We go to see the gingerbread house exhibit every year

Great hotel, service is excellent, on the scenic Savannah river.

Very comfortable hotel, our room was clean and the staff was smiling.
Prices just a little high but frankly the stay was perfect.

The hotel itself is nice. They're aren't many choices for food and that makes it difficult since you are all the way across the river from downtown Savannah. The pool is nice and the view is beautiful.

My Mom was in town and has never been to Savannah. We decided to take her for an overnight visit. We stayed on the 7th floor with a river view and it was perfect. My Mom was already taken by the beauty of Savannah and it was fabulous to see her looking out the window, watching the boats and admiring the city! Thank you for a great stay and a cherished memory.

Best part was balcony facing river. I wanted to see sun set on 69 and rise on 70, from my room, and I did. Room was furnished nicely, temperature difficult to control. Way too many linens on bed. Had better night at 3 star hotel. Glad I treated myself for my birthday, but I won't stay here again and don't reccomend it. Use spa & restaurants, which are awesome.

On June 29, 2019, I visited the Westin hotel for a stay. I was not impressed with the service at all. My spouse and I arrived to the hotel at 2:30 pm. We were very much aware that check-in time was 4:00 pm. While checking in a young man with dark hair and glasses checked me in. While doing so he asked me on three different occasions, what was my phone number. I was speaking very clear and loud enough so I could be heard. So before leaving the front desk I was told that I would be notified as to when my room would be ready. Well needless to say I never received a phone call. My spouse and I, went across the river to River street to have lunch after a long ride, came back and still no call. I asked to speak with a manager, and a regular staff whom I believe was an assistant manager was sent out, in which she was very polite and trying to assist me the best she could. It was explained to me that because I went through a third party, is why my room was not available. Basically telling me that you are given a room based on availability not when check in time is scheduled, but if I would have arrived late then I can very well understand that I would be taking a chance on not having a room, but that was not the case. I paid over $400.00 for my room with a river view and balcony and that is the kind of service that you get at a hotel that want to be considered a five star hotel. Furthermore the amenities that this hotel offers is not worth what you pay. They only have one pool, one jacuzzi both outdoors and no minibars in the room. The rooms are not top notch rooms and the bathtubs are not jetted tubs. So I would not waste my time or money on this hotel. Try the Hyatt Regency Savannah, Savannah Marriott Riverfront you will get more bang for your buck. I have stayed at plenty hotels and never have I had such a bad experience as I did with the Westin this past weekend. Busy or not check in time is suppose to be check in time not several hours later. Come to find out that gentleman that assisted me never booked me in. I had asked for a refund and I was told because I went through a third party, it would be difficult for the hotel to refund me my money back. I finally asked to speak with the manager again, and someone by the name of Amanda came over to speak with me finally. I was granted a voucher, but that still caused a disruption in my weekend and has left a bad taste in my mouth. So if your looking for top notch hotel this is not the place.

I thought my experience here would be a great experience.....the convenient factor was the only thing good about it. We stayed here this past week for a symposium and Wednesday I woke up along with my roommate with a rash covering our necks....I came home and what do you know....we have a BED BUG RASH!!!

Great staff-friendly & efficient. Just short ferry ride across the river to river street shops & restaurants.

We came on a weekend that had a convention. It was loud, crowded and wished we would have stayed somewhere else. The the convention ended and it transformed into a nice place. The restaurant Aquastar on a Saturday night had a live opera show, which was amazing, but operation of the restaurant was very disorganized. The outdoor pool bathroom looked worse than a public bathroom, with mold, leaks and flood all over If Westin management would run a tighter ship with more attention to detail and more quality control, the place has the potential to be upscale.

I was disappointed when I encountered people strolling through the lobby with dogs. & on the elevator.

Super clean, great location and staff. Views of downtown town and beyond. Will definitely stay here again. Enjoyed everything from seeing dolphins in the river, to tea and cookies in the afternoon. Wonderful establishment and a must when visiting Savannah.

Love staying there because of the beautiful view. It helps that it's on the opposite side of River St. Customer service was good.

Decent hotel, but the week my wife and I stayed there was an Opera convention going on. Lady opera participants performed voice exercises in their rooms ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT. There is nothing worse than opera. Wait, one thing worse. Having to listen to opera voice exercises ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT while trying to enjoy a vacation. Shame on the Westin Savannah for allowing these women to absolutely ruin others' time in your hotel. Seriously.

We had our wedding at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa this weekend and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the experience. Kristen Haddick and the staff at the Westin Savannah helped create the most beautiful wedding I could have ever imagined. Thanks to her and her team we had the Champions suite for my bridal party to get ready in- highly recommend this gorgeous view! We were able to take pictures throughout the resort because of the fantastic views and well maintained hotel and lawn. Kristen was always a quick email or call away and helped put my mind at ease throughout the entire planning process. Our meals were just as good as we remember from the tasting and the staff were all incredibly professional and accommodating. If you are looking for an "all in one" venue then this is the place for you!! I'm an incredibly happy bride!!

Great hotel with nice view, clean and updated rooms, friendly staff, and nice bar/ restaurant. Parking was not great.

Wonderful Hotel. If your room is on the Riverside you'll hear the boats blasting their horn. But it's worth the view.

Grounds are beautiful but the location isnt the greatest. The island itself doesn't have much to offer so you have to go across the bridge to Savannah's downtown.

I only wish I could've stayed longer! Everything was so beautiful. I loved being able to stay right on the water. Having access to the ferry was great too! So close to all of the restaurants and shops of Savannah.

Personally really like the saltwater pool. There is also a ferry that takes you across to the city.

Among the best location based hotels I stayed. On the river bank .great views from room of ships passing by. River Street view,bridge view, pool and restaurants. Has a ferry service to get onto river Street. Which is so cool. Loved the stay

We had a wonderful time!! Very accommodating!! We were there to celebrate a birthday, we also had our Cavelier with is. They were so sweet, polite and thoughtful. They gave us a free breakfast at Aqua. They also bought us up a glass of Champagne and chocolate strawberries without any prompting. Rooms were clean, view outstanding faxing the river. Heated Pool was a delight and the various fire pits throughout the patio area. To add the trolley boat that runs every 30 min. which takes you to the other side. So if you don't want to drive you don't have to. The only reason they are getting a four and a half is the self parking and the distance to the hotel.

Hotel is located directly across the river from River St. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a view overlooking the river. Everything was clean and in good order. Walking access to downtown was available via a free ferry ride

The Boat Lighting Parade was awesome this evening..!! Lots of awesome looking boats this year..!!

Visited for the holiday boat parade. Tickets were $10 per person and the only perk was use of the bathrooms. They had live music and food for purchase.

We go to the West on every year for the Gingerbread Houses at Christmas. We love the decorations and how friendly the staff is. This has become a major family tradition and the Westin is absolutely beautiful at Christmas time!

Absolutely loved it, pleasant atmosphere great service

Brittney Beckstrom greeted me with a warm friendly smile. The valets and bellman were very nice. The only issues were that the hospitality suite we booked was not ready until well after 5 pm which set our event back. We asked for a large trash can which was never provided.

Only went to bar but is nice change of pace from downtown Savannah and great views across the river.

Great, clean hotel and good prices. Highly recommended for a stay in Savannah.

Stayed at the Westin for a work event, very nice hotel but would have enjoyed having a microwave in the room.

Wonderful staff, beautiful facilities and everything in the room was perfect! Had a reservation for 2 rooms and when one of them wasn't ready, they upgraded the one not ready to Riverview so we could get everyone settled.

Asked for extra shampoo and room away from elevators. What do they do put me next to an elevator and no shampoo. Huge hotel had one person working the front desk. Stay elesewhere unless you have to like I did.

Rooms are nice, house keeping was nice. The hotel staff was not very friendly. It would be nice if there was breakfast included in the stay. Embassy Suits is much nicer

Stayed here twice with in 3 days because it was a great experience! Once for work and enjoyed it so much I went back with my family. Everyone was so welcoming from the front desk to the bartenders ( Mariah, Miguel, and Christopher ). There is a mask wearing policy in place. Great location directly across from River Street and a short Fairy ride across the river. The Spa was great; the golf course is beautiful. I recommend the river view rooms/ balcony rooms. I have stayed at all hotels on river street and a few in downtown Savannah and this was my favorite, enjoy!

We visited with our 5th grade students during Christmas. The gingerbread houses are very impressive.

The Westin is a Very nice and peaceful and the people are friendly.

The venue was beautiful but the food was a joke, and I understand it's up to the person that's renting the venue but more options should have been offered!!!!!Who fixes oxtails with no rice we had baked chicken fried chicken the vegetables was deplorable and then we had a salad and bread and cheesecake and cut up pound cake from the store $80 that was ridiculous.

Let me start with I really like this hotel. I ve stayed here several times and recommend it to people who travel to Savannah. The hotel and amenities are lovely but when you return to your room and find your door propped open with no one in sight it s quite concerning. We actually went in and out several times to see if anyone noticed and waited over an hour to see if anyone would come back. Finally called to speak to the manager and was told the manager was busy and it wasn t an issue he would deal with anyway but that security could speak with us. Seriously??? Guests need their key to enter the pool area or the elevator but the staff leave your room unsecured and it s not an issue worthy of a conversation with the manager.

For a professional convention, the service in terms of customer service was very reliable and ready to assist. However, the food provided for the event was unfulfilling for breakfast and snacks throughout the event. Food at the restaurants at the hotel is very good, but the staff seemed under staffed during such a busy time of day. Location is away from local attractions which is a pro and con, depending on one's time to seclude or engage in Savannah's community.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, nice rooms, very clean. All together great stay.

Nickeled and dimed like I was parking meter. Stay at one of the many other wonderful hotels in Savannah. Downtown AirBnB would have better service than this place.

Very clean property and customer service was superb the grounds were well kept but the pool was murky. Water taxi to river street was easy and efficient.
