Lovely views over shaldon and teinmouth although a tad expensive
Went there on a Thursday evening with place less than half full, but slow service to get our drinks, followed by lukewarm starters served on cold plates, then waited 45 minutes for our main meal which again was lukewarm and also served on cold plates, but wrong vegetable and potato given to my partner, obviously dished up in a hurry. We complained and managed to get my partner's main meal deducted from the bill, but very disappointing and will not be going there again !
Simple food served and cooked well. Stunning views.
Fantastic location overlooking Shaldon Estuary and Teignmouth.Outside seating plus spacious dining areas Staff so friendly and obliging. Nice menu mix of 'proper' food and more pub type grub .
Very reassuring protocol for current safe dining.
Wonderful setting overlooking Teignmouth estuary. A beautiful old building and very atmospheric. Real shame that the food is poor compared to the setting. Good place to go for a drink though
I love this place. This is only the second time here, but due to the location and great views and superb customer service , it entices you back if in the area.
Beautiful views of teignmouth and just a relaxing atmosphere
Steak was poor had to wait 1.45 poor service won't be going there again
Beautiful view. Amazing staff very helpful and friendly. Can't wait to visit again.
Magic food..great venue... go tiu won't be dissappointed
Lovely view but slow service, expensive compared to other restaurants. Reserved tables left unused!! No cutlery available when food was presented at the table! If you book ahead please turn up! We had to sit outside in the cold looking at perfectly useable tables free inside!
I waited over half an hour for some French fries which never turned up, when I inquired as to where they were I was told the order had been misplaced and I then decided to leave.
In the gents bathroom the tap took ages to get warm and when it finally did it went cold again almost immediately.
Beautiful place with great views, friendly staff and good food! Check out their half boat standing up to make a small reading area. Brilliant.
Staff unaware that 2 of the 3 specials were discontinued; too many tables for the space; very, very basic food
A lovely Sunday lunch today and very helpful staff.
Great little beach at the end of the smugglers tunnels with places to go crab hunting in the rock pools at one end.
Food there was amazing, service top notch and the if you get seated by the window the views are to die for.
Stopped for a couple of drinks after a walk. Great service and a beautiful place to sit outside and soak up the sun.
Food took an hour. When it arrived, burgers we're good but child's meal was wrong. Second child's meal was nothing like description from menu-clearly a knock off from a failed burger. Staff were very apologetic and knocked 50% off bill. Excellent location and atmosphere. Shame the service was rubbish. Give it a miss - go the London Inn or the Clipper in the village.
Lovely location. Can get full in tourist season but a nice place to get a coffee or a beer. Nice place to dine.
A restaurant bar with this location should do well as on a sunny day the views over the River Teign are beautiful. We sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the sunshine and a drink but then went inside. This is why. My concern is that smokers dominate in the area with the best views outside. Yes there is a non smokers area but this is tucked away in a garden to the side and so not in the sun. I loved the venue but did gave to go inside because of passive smoking.
Overlooking the Teign estuary at night, made it look magical from the window views. Great choices on the menu, including smaller adult portions and mini desserts.
Normally enjoy a great meal at the Ness, however today's was disappointing! A long wait for the service and cold over cooked chicken.... Shame they can do better
Nice location but generic catering truck food, some of it served in enamel tins!
Good food - and beautful views. Parking nice and easy - use the public one just up the road. If the weather is good -try a quick walk up the Ness headland
Popped in for tea. Great views and nicely presented. Will come back to try the food.
Very lovely clean friendly place the most wonderful views had a great lunch would go back again anytime
Perfect location over looking the bay, seated in conservatory with great views
Great views with lovely service. Portions very generous. Lovely cosy fire place too
Nice pub. Good beer selection. Good food and great views.
Lovely pub nice views of Teignmouth great food and service
Great food , good service, all controls are in place, will go back if in area.
We stopped here for a drink on an afternoons walk. The staff were polite and friendly. The drinks were well priced. There was a nice cosy atmosphere in the bar with the fire roaring. The scenery is really pretty around the pub and it would be lovely in the summer time too.
Although the building, location & restaurant are very nice, the food was not of the quality expected of the high price. It was bland, unexciting & frankly lacked basic flavour. They are charging twice the going rate too. Service was slow with long waits for food to arrive.
Well informed enthusiastic staff. Good menu from low to medium price. Try the rib eye steak!
Nice place but the music is awful. Drive you mad !
Lovely location overlooking the River Teign estuary with Teignmouth on the opposite bank.
Great venue. Great food. Lovely staff. Amazing view. Very clean great atmosphere.
Excellent meal, wonderful views, will certainly visit again.
Only stayed for a drink but beautiful veiws with good service
Disappointing experience, waited 1 hr and 15 mins for food. Only managed to get one drink while waiting. Lots of waiting staff stood around doing nothing . Food not great when it finally arrived.
Travelling back from a stay at a 5 star hotel on Dartmoor. The food, value and service were much better at the Ness.
An excellent place to relax and offers great accommodation with stunning views over the Teign estuary
Absolutely disgusting service, I went into this place 1 year ago whilst visiting family and made a booking for a special occasion 1 year later, I visited the same family member recently again, and happened to nip in to confirm our booking, the venue despite my booking with the manager directly, couldn't find any recollection of us, or our booking, and simply said, i am not sure why we have haven't contacted you but we can no longer accommodate you! I am just thankful we decided to check before travelling 220 miles for said special occasion and having no where to stay. ZERO remorse, just check before you travel!
Thank you to all the lovely and most friendly staff at the Ness for once again making our stay that much more enjoyable
Very nice decor inside loved the boats in the seating area inside very nautical. We sat outside lovely views very convivial although would not want to be there during the peak holiday season. Food reasonable bit taken aback at price of More
We appsolutly loved having our honeymoon at the Ness in Shaldon.
The service was outstanding, the food was amazing and the rooms are stunning with Beautiful views overlooking Teignmouth.
Highly recommended.
Never been impressed by the food on offer. Menu looks good but when it eventually appears it's not quite what you hoped for. Pretty location with outside seating and a view of the sea.
Very nice food, staff made a few mistakes but we're incredibly polite and helpful
Great views and lovely food. The staff are very friendly and it is warm and cozy

Such a beautiful place! We visited on a day trip, had food ranging from soup to burgers and it was all excellent! Kids menu was quite expensive but they both seemed to enjoy it. Gorgeous views where we were sat too from the conservatory
