The bartender didn't know how to make an old fashioned, so she made something up and served it.

Sunday brunch was a wonderful experience. The service is amazing and the selection of food is excellent as well. Our table was on the mezzanine level and offered a great view but we had to use the stairs to visit the buffet. If you have trouble with stairs I wouldn't recommend this level however I enjoyed over looking the entire buffet area. The atmosphere is breathtakingly beautiful.
The food was fantastic. The staff were great! Nothing negative to say at all.
The amenities provided by The Jefferson were astounding. The staff were polite and knowledgeable about the area. We went for New Years Eve and the decorations were impeccable. I look forward to going back next year.
Went to the restaurant....for all that money the food was not memorable. Literally can't remember what I ate
Went here with a friend to see the Christmas Tree in the lobby! Nice atmosphere and a very pleasant staff.
Excellent food and service staff, great wine selection, reasonably priced for the unique location.
My in-laws were in town and wanted to see The Jefferson Hotel in downtown Richmond. We absolutely loved our excursion there and spent about an hour looking around. There were plenty of holiday decorations to look at, including a sleigh made out of gingerbread, a room that tells the history of the hotel, and a grand staircase. The afternoon tea looked delicious and there were also many people having a drink at the bar. I would highly recommend for a quick, historical excursion!
Excellent dining experience. Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff!
Cocktails at the bar were just ok... Had better everywhere... However the ambiance and the beautiful Christmas decorations made up for the mediocre drinks.
We were there for a small party and enjoyed the amazing Sunday brunch.. you can not miss this it's amazing
My husband and I have coming here for many years and have never had a bad experience. One of our favorites though is always Kendall. She always greets us with an electric smile and really cares about our every visit. Kendall definitely represents all of the Jefferson Hotel's values, which is why we visit time and time again.
Thanks for your exceptional hospitality!

Wonderful, marble hotel with a beautiful atmosphere- you will feel like you're a millionaire.
Exquisite hotel. Great staff, rooms are immaculate.
Staff was wonderful. Room/suite was luxurious. Holiday decorations made it really special.
Excellent service, food and facility. We had a great time.
Gorgeous majestic designed hotel of our beloved third president. The main lobby is spectacular.
The Jefferson is a very nice hotel. I found the staff to be very accommodating and helpful. The food provided was also very tasty. The hotel was also well-kept and clean.
Gorgeous! Treat yourself to a meal in their amazing restaurant. Staff is very professional
Beautiful building, unfortunately my first and probably last experience here was ruined by an extremely rude bartender as soon as i got there. My husband thought it would be a neat place to incorporate into our date. I realize that i look very young and I'm used to being carded, but I'm much older than i look. I'm not used to being pounced on with an attitude about it as of she were about to throw me out or something. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If i wasn't trying to appease my husband i would've walked out right then and there. I drank about half my glass of champagne and thankfully my husband decided to move on to another place to enjoy the rest of our date. When a place has rude staff i tend not to visit again. I think they should definitely take a course on manners.
A throw-back to the era of grand European-quality hotels, when great service and understated luxury were the norm.
It was my first time at the hotel, tide was very nice. They have a huge Christmas tree!
Went to the restaurant located within the hotel and had great food and service.
Lovely stay last weekend at the Jefferson! We were there for a family wedding. I'd love to go back as date/getaway weekend sometime!
A 5 diamond hotel and for what is described as the most outstanding Sunday brunch in Richmond, only phone messages can be left after 4 pm. when inquiring about a reservation
Not the caliber of service expected from a hotel that is stated to have such high standards. Disappointing.
I had a wonderful time at The Jefferson. Fantastic room, some of the best staff I have interacted with, all in a rich historical setting. Can't wait to return.
Beautiful hotel. I did not stay here. I attended the Sunday Brunch twice. $50, but all you can eat and wait staff always keeps your champagne topped off.
It has become a tradition for us to have Christmas tea with four generations of my family annually at the Jefferson Hotel. The decorations, service, and atmosphere are one of a kind. What a special treat!
We had an incredible time here. Really awesome staff and beautiful building.
Tip: Skip TJ's and eat at Lemaire. Lemaire might just be the best restaurant I have ever eaten at!
Took my daughter for a birthday tea. Nothing in Richmond compares for making you feel special for an hour or two. Absolutely gorgeous surrounding, impeccable service, and delicious, if traditional, food. Super pricey, but that's what I would expect for the atmosphere and location.
This is the Premier hotel in downtown RIC. Everything about it screams CLASS. Thanks for setting the bar so high!
Yes the hotel is wonderful and beautiful but never work there . The manager treats you like your nothing talks to you like your nothing and nothing is ever done to her . She shows favoritism to her son that works there with her , he does nothing and everybody else does everything something NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THE MANAGER OF HOUSEKEEPING. I wish my work experience was just as wonderful and beautiful as the hotel is .
Exceptional lunch, our server Daria did a great job making sure everything we ordered was to our liking. The Salmon was excellent!
Unbelievably bad service on the phone. My husband, my COO and I are coming in town for a wedding today. We have each called multiple times, waited on hold for 10-12 minutes or left voicemails and NEVER reached a human being. In all my travels and for the money we paid for this hotel, it s completely unacceptable. Staff appropriately.
We went to the Sunday brunch on Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate my mother-in-law's 70th birthday. I am not a brunch guy. I feel like it is an awkward time of day to be eating a large meal. And I sometimes have difficulty deciding between breakfast and lunch. Having said that, this brunch was AMAZING! I can't imagine a buffet with more options. and everything was well stocked and well tended so that it was hot and it's delicious. I think I had three plates. The service was excellent. And the room is magnificent. Almost enough to make me a brunch guy.
Really great food and great service, beautiful building. Detail oriented. Was there for our anniversary and they had very personalized added touches which I will not share on this post... It would spoil the experience for your own special occasion!
Sadly disappointed. Food was okay. Drinks were terrible, need a new bartender. An expensive tea had people walking through the area; not quiet or private. View was an ugly rooftop. Room marble floors were filthy and poorly maintained. Historically it was beautiful and the Concierge G was worth his weight in gold!
One of the best restaurants in the city - wonderful food and fantastic service
Love the food and accommodation was 5 star. Can t wait to come back here.
The Jefferson Hotel is a landmark in Downtown Richmond. The hotel is absolutely stunning and has so much to offer. Nicest hotel in the city. Not only is it historic but they do such a nice job by keeping everything clean and renovated for such an old hotel. There so much history here. The rooms here are ginormous and super elegant. The pool is lovely and very private. The staff here are so informant and always point out great things to do in the area. The only downside is after staying here multiple times I wish there were more dining options since the main restaurants are expensive and the food is not worth the price. If your staying in Richmond for a night or two this is the place to stay. If you're staying here during the holidays they do a wonderful job and the Christmas tree is magnificent. Overall wonderful hotel and will definitely be back!
A 5 star establishment in Richmond. This is an excellent hotel that sparkles during the holiday season. Wonderful rooms and a great management team.
Outstanding service throughout. Rooms preserve their historical character but are thoroughly modern in finish and function.
Just went to see the staircase and local history corner.
One of the most beautiful and luxurious hotels in Richmond, I recommend staying in it, enjoying and having fun with those who love.
Met photography clients at The Jefferson Hotel in order to take wedding photos prior to the ceremony. The hotel is phenomenally beautiful and well-appointed. I hope I have the opportunity to stay there as a guest some time soon.
Hotel is nice with a lot of history. Service is exceptional, rooms are spacious, and the location is near everything downtown.
Went in to look at the holiday decorations. The grand staircase area was very festive with the tree in the center of the room.
Such a fun thing to do for a girls night out with my daughter. We loved the history and eloquent decor throughout
Beautiful Christmas set up. Exceptional staff that are super respectful and professional and on top of all that, they are kind and friendly.
Very nice hotel. Attended an event in one of the ballrooms. Great service and decorations.
Amazing and our server was so kind, fun and attentive
EXCELLENT. Went here with Family For my Mother in Law 76 Birthday. Nice
Excellent service from Micheal our waiter. Another individual was quite rude. Do not know if I will consider visiting again
The Jefferson offers a wonderful Sunday Brunch. Their Champagne Brunch is true RVA tradition. I have been several times - first on the morning after my wedding, together with family, and a couple times with friends. Each time the food, service, and overall experience has impressed me. I recommend the main floor area for first time attendees, but the balcony for people watching or a more intimate or small group experience.
