Absolutely amazing. Hands down best club sandwich I've ever had! It had lamb bacon on it...crazy unique! Our server was just phenomenal. Such a sweetheart and so attentive. Great atmosphere and we will definitely be back. Some other reviewers are saying it's too pricey, but they have two menus - a super fancy one and a reasonably priced one. Definitely check it out. Just awesome.

Amongst St.John's restaurants: Gypsy is another thumbs down.

I ordered a medium well steak. Upon advising the staff of my steak cooked improperly,, they offered me salmon .
I left hungry. I have too too much to say about the terrible experience I had at the Gypsy Tea Room.

Very good lounge food. Great service and the food was piping hot. There are two dining areas with slightly different menus. They are very strict on the menus, we couldn't mix and match for our daughter's sake and had to eat from the lounge menu. Nice atmosphere and very warm which is appreciated on a frozen night.

Do not waste your time or money eating here! It was horrible! My family had high expectations based on the look of the place, the ambience was great! That's where it stopped. The wait staff was rude, dim witted and unhygienic; our waitress smelled as if she had never owned a toothbrush! The food was awful and overpriced for the quality.

The service was friendly and quick for a restaurant like this. They were knowledgeable in their menu and offered great selections. Their cajun chicken fettuccine was divine and they can make it more or less spicy which was perfect for my sensitive stomach. The duo of duck was seasoned well and cooked to perfection.

The lamb was great. Cooked prefect and tasty served with garlic mash and veggies. The blackened salmon was also great, served with wild rice. The calimari and muscles were also very good appetizers. Service was great, team atmosphere. Considering the service, quality of the food and fair sized portions... Price was also good to. Thanks Gypsy.

The place is nice, located in a street where there is a lot of restaurant. You can book a table online without difficulty. Note that there are two different rooms, one which is rather a bar where there is a lot of noise the other quieter there is essentially the restaurant. For our part, we chose instead the quiet place to be able to chat quietly. The menu is quite varied, the prices are very affordable. There is a small wine list as well as champagne. So much for a family evening as a couple. All in all we really enjoyed ourselves.

Great spot to go and have some appetizers and draught beer.

Atmosphere is a little bit more upscale but the food itself is well priced and not pretentious. Mix of a decent wine selection and interesting cocktail menu.

We go pretty frequently for the deep fried Buffalo cauliflower, really addicting and a break from traditional pub food offered by other restaurants nearby.

We had a lovely evening at the Gypsy Tea Room tonight. Our waitress Courtney had an extensive knowledge of the wine list and suggested a delicious Chilean red to myself and my partner. We shared two of the desserts which she also recommended. They were both exceptional. Our service was efficient and friendly, we will definitely be back!

I've been here several times. The downstairs is far cosier and amenable to a good time than upstairs. Food is excellent and service good too. I think the wine was good as well.

I'd definitely recommend this place for client and personal dinners.

Left us a little bit disappointed on Valentine's Day; we had a reservation for 8:45 but couldn't be seated until 9, we ordered promptly and waited over an hour for our food! Restaurant was about 50-60% full. The chicken in the pasta was cold when it came out. Our server was excellent and the crusted cod was delicious, but the wait time and cold pasta were very unfortunate. Tainted my previous love of this place for sure!

Had a lovely time at The Gypsy Tea Room for a post-wedding brunch with about 40 guests. Service was quite slow, probably due to our large number; however, that just gave us more time to visit with everyone.
Once the food arrived it was all delicious.
Copious amounts of tea and coffee replenished throughout our visit.
Staff could not have been more helpful.
Thank you!

After having a disastrous experience prior, the manager, Grant, contacted us to redeem our meal.... And redeem they did. Service was amazing, food was delicious, and I can safety say that the original experience was just one of their "off days". Thank you Grant and Jessica for allowing my folks to continue to enjoy one of their favorite restaurants.

Great atmosphere with fast service, food was good and very filling. The arrows on the ground were a bit confusing but we figured it out. Everything was super clean, this is a great place to go at night!

My wife and I had our wedding here and it was amazing. They did a great job with the food, the servers were attentive and efficient, the manager for our event (Doug) did a great job, and our points of contact Dave and Nick the chef were easy to deal with and quick with responses. In addition to the reception, we also had our ceremony in the courtyard and after party in the cellar. They were very accommodating and the whole thing was beautiful. The courtyard in particular worked very well for the ceremony and reception as it s natural atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for.

I would highly recommend the Gypsy Tea Room for both meals and larger events, and that you try out their curried cod as it was a real treat.

Fantastic place to visit. Had a function(reception and ceremony for marriage) here and everyone was amazing. Doug, Janice and Tim were absolutely great. Cannot recommend this place more. Everything was a breeze to plan with them, food was delicious, and service was impeccable.

Food was okay, but definitely not worth the price. The paella was just Spanish rice with fried and grilled seafood on top of it... Was a huge disappointment for $36 CAD.

Service and atmosphere was good.

Me and my girlfriend go here every now and again for a date night and get their nachos and try several of their specialty drinks. Their service is excellent, the food is great and they have a lot of great drinks on their menu. Would recommend this place for a date night in their bar area or a formal dinner in their back room or downstairs
