Chose this Hotel for location (had a loved one running in the marathon) it's right next to Victoria Station and there's lots to do within walking distance. First impression? Stunning! Beautiful lobby and staircases and lots of photo opportunities. Staff are lovely and resolved a minor issue very quickly. Restaurant food was lovely and breakfast was very good although fruit juices weren't chilled enough for my liking. Free WiFi worked well. Our twin room was OK and having a bath with a shower was nice. I liked the Hotels reason for not having bath robes in the rooms, it is very honest and made me smile.
Now the negatives. The double glazing in the room provided excellent sound proofing but made it feel very suffocating and we just could not get to grips with the air conditioning in the 2 nights we stayed. We would have cracked it in the end though, I'm sure. We could only find one spare plug socket to use, having some beside the beds would be good. And, while this shouldn't be important when staying in such a fabulous city, the TV was shocking, too small and terrible signal. These issues wouldn't stop us staying here again though.

Lovely and easy location to meet friends, we opted for the afternoon tea selection. Unfortunately this was quite poor. The scones were very small (only a few cm wide, more like a petit macaroon) and quite stale. There was a savory scone which came with a peculiar "sauce" which was a bit like a tomato prawn cocktail sauce, which was very liquid like, bit of a strange addition. The sandwiches were alright. The remaining cakes and pastries were just a bit average. They were eaten more to fill a hole than out of enjoyment. I definitely expected some higher standards and something a bit unique from this hotel and was really disappointed. As mentioned, it was a good location close to Victoria station and nicely decorated, but if you're after a memorable and interesting, full of flavour afternoon tea, this is definitely not the place. It's very very average and I wouldn't return unfortunately.

This is a nice hotel if you want a typical British experience. Excellent location right next to Victoria Station with easy access to the tube and train services. We had mixed results at the hotel restaurant. First dinner there was very good. Food was good atmosphere relaxed. The next night they lost gas service to the kitchen and could not prepare our order. We ordered salads instead. They comped our meal and drinks so no harm there. Overall I would stay there again.

It's a pretty cool space, nice architecture in what I believe was a bank or similar in previous life. Staff were all lovely, offers of help with luggage, etc. We stayed in executive room (3 girls on night out) which offered a large sofa bed (already made up) and a zip link king size bed. It was very comfortable and I normally struggle sleeping in hotel beds but this one was brilliant. Complimentary robes, slippers, soft drinks and snacks in mini bar and access to the executive lounge. We popped into the lounge after check-in for a cuppa and ended up having a mini scone too. Then visited again after sightseeing/before getting ready for night out and had some snacks/hors d'oeuvres and wine (all complimentary) and a chat with the extremely pleasant and helpful young lady who was looking after us. Breakfast was lovely and unrushed with veggie options on request, checkout a doddle. Good location, very short walk across the road to Victoria Bus Station; walking distance to Buckingham palace, Westminster, Soho, Sloan sq, Harrods, etc. Would definitely stay again.

Nice and cozy hotel located in central London. Everything was really good from breakfast to helpfulness from the staff. When we was disturbed from a construction work outside during the night they swiftly moved us to another room the next day which also was an upgrade from the previous one. The only real con was that out of 5 long calls for room service during the late hours only one was responded from our phone in the room. Everything was splendid with the room service itself but they seemed to have a hard time answering.

Would recommend it to anyone who's not depending all to much on the room service!

Historic, with good facilities, friendly service. Rooms partially renovated and well soundproof, the old TV and was the reason to change to another, where the fridge does not work. Breakfast with varied and good quality buffet

If you want an easy access room this is not the hotel. Just stayed there got 2nd floor but it was not on the second floor we went up in the lift then walked about 50mts then down about 12 stairs then another 30 mts to our room. The place is a rabbit Warren. I gave it 3 but that was for the service only.

I can not say enough good things about this hotel!...

I can not say enough good things about this hotel!!! I have been to London 3 times in the last 5 years and I would not stay anywhere else. The staff is what make it AMAZING. They can not be nicer or do enough for you. My daughter and I were leaving one morning for a tour and two staff members met us at the door with umbrellas for us to borrow, they anticipate your every need. They always wanted to know if we had a fun day out and asked if we need anything. Tea there is an experience! So elegant and cozy. The breakfast is amazing, almost as amazing as the staff. Our dear friend Mohammed doted on us every day. He made sure my daughter had her hot chocolate ready at her table, with a heart shape in the foam. They delight in their work and it shows. I hated to leave, it feels like family. Mario was always a delight, I don't think I ever had a chance to poor my own tea, he was always there with a smile. Demetrius brought my daughter a teddy bear the first night were there and helped us with directions anywhere we wanted to go. Arthur was always smiling and asking if he could do anything for us. They are just all so fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful and elegant. It is located in the perfect part of London for vacationing. Safe and quiet, so many places to walk to and a lot of the day trip tours leave from companies 5 minutes walking distance. We love, love, love The Amba Grosvenor and hope to come back again soon!

I would not recommend this hotel if you are a neat and clean person. Staff were not the best, rooms were poorly prepped and its not a happy place. Basically its a 2 or 3 star hotel who claim to be a 4 star!

Beautiful hotel and very accommodating staff. The bed was very comfortable and the features were pleasing. Enjoyed the happy hour they provided with complimentary beer, wine, and coffee. The location was very convenient to walk to many museums and points of interest, and it's right on top of a tube station. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The Hotel is just five walking minutes away from the Buckingham palace. It's directly at the Victoria station, but you don't hear the busses or any traffic at all. Only the room doors are pretty loud. The employees are very friendly. The bed are good and television also provides US and other EU tv channels.

Room was very clean, very traditional looking, and centrally located. Included breakfast buffet was excellent and includeed hot items such as cheese, meat, eggs, grilled vegetables. Staff was very polite and helpful. Room is a little behind on the tech side without many accessible outlets near the bed and old style TV and remote.

Poor for business travelers. No where reasonably quiet to work as they get the public in to every resturant or seating space available. Also very expansive laundry service. 288 pounds it cost me. Otherwise cramped rooms in an otherwise very beautiful old building

hotels location is great, you have the train and everything around you, my problem with this hotel was the staff. my husband and i were judged based on the way we were dressed, keep in mind we have been traveling for 3 days, we had sweat pants and backpacks, at one point we were even asked if we were lost, as we were getting ready to check in. we arrived at 1 pm, and asked if we had a room available so we can change, and the agent said " we don check in customers until 3, sorry" so we left grabbed something to eat came back at 245 and we got the same treatment, the only difference was that other people were getting checked in and we were not allowed.....The place was over priced for what the rooms actually are, its supposed to be high end and it needs a lot of work, the lobby is beautiful but that's it everything else is old.

Hotel interiors very pleasent. Went for a Champagne afternoon tea. Well presented and a good selection. Coronation chicken wasnt great, the bottom of the bread was a little crusty due to being prepared early and with the heat. The team were excellent and very helpful in every possible way.

You need to fire the porter/security. I don't know his name but he is black and a tall, broad man. He grabbed my bag off me, a cheap Tesco's bag with hardly anything in and accused me of stealing. The aggression was unbelievable. He pushed my chest hard like a bully and called the police. The police turned up and I explained it was my bag and he lied to the police officer and said I was a thief. The man who is from South Africa needs to be put back there. He's a nasty piece of work and an aggressive bully. Making up that I stole stuff. The police believed me and gave me the bag back. It had nothing valuable in. Yet again he showed a lack of common sense and intelligence but is a huge guy. Always a worrying combination. Thank God the police showed some common sense. He actually pushed me hard and rang the police over a Tesco's carrier bag with food in and two cheap tops.
Sexist racist. Put him back in SA where he belongs.

Stayed here for a few nights while sightseeing London. Executive king suite was clean, comfortable and gorgeously decorated. Accommodations were perfect, rainfall shower, tea and coffee, complementary sodas, comfortable bed, spacious rooms - and above all, gracious staff. Excellent location, too. Thank you!

Perfect for Victoria Station departure or stays near Buckingham Palace. Quiet rooms, absolutely no exterior noise within the room! Linens seemed so crisp they bordered on rough. Bed and furnishings not plush but functional.

Afternoon Tea 29th July 2018

Afternoon Tea 29th July 2018
I had afternoon tea with my friend @ 5pm on Sunday and was disappointed at the lack of attention to the customers. To be shown to our table by a gentleman pointing his finger for us to follow him. Followed by having to look for someone to ask for more tea as you do not have your own pot. You shouldn't have to ask they should be checking with you. With 4 scones on the cake display and one scoop of cream we had to then ask for more cream! No one asked was everything ok. Once we had finished we left without a single member of staff saying thank you or goodbye. This is not what I expect from this hotel and I do hope that this feedback reaches the manager. Not a great experience.
