Sycamore den is one of my staple watering holes. The staff is amazing, and the drinks are creative and tasty, while not being overly complex.

The Vodka Collins is my go to refresher. Ask for the popcorn, it's delicious!

I came during Adam's Unplugged. I've been here a couple times before and was satisfied with the service. I hit a few bumps on this last trip here, but ended up being totally satisfied with the outcome. Garrett was my server the entirety of my visit and he was very attentive and friendly. I also was able to order food, which comes from the neighboring bar named Burnside and took a little over 40 mins to arrive. I'm a very patient guy, but this was a little more than I'm use to. Garrett was very apologetic and said that the food was on him. I would've taken a discount, but he went beyond and understood the inconvenience he put me through and comped the food. From what I saw from the rest of the staff, they were very friendly, easy going and attentive. I would definitely come back. It's definitely worth the trip.

I just recently turned 21 and this is definitely a favorite place for me. Kind of a vintage 70 vibe. I had the crime of passion drink, soooo good, little bit of spice. You can snack on free popcorn there and chill

This Normal Heights standout has been killing it for years, why do you think they have guns on the walls for?

Seriously the OG crew here were way ahead of the tides in the 619 bringing some big city to Americas Finest City . First off it s got a name that will stand the test of time (because maybe 2 word names with & between them is played out in SD since 2013). Secondly it s got more wood than a woodchuck could chuck, because we all know how woodchucks get down. That fireplace provides a sick ambiance for sealing the deal with the ladies. The guys Leigh, Kinsey and Eric Johnson set the bar high doing a lot of things really well, those rumbler s of tins.

The bathrooms are semi communal, in that the wash area is.

The crowd is very local, lots of regulars and even people that come solely for specific drinks. Now that they ve partner with nearby Burnside for their food offerings they also overflow there in conjunction as well as offer as a place to get more of the local craft beer scene in an also themed environment.

Definitely a unique place. Frequently rotating menu of cocktails. The drinks are complex. Our limited tasting didn't result in a wow experience. But it wasn't bad either. Rick house was amazing two out of first two drinks we ordered.

Probably the best spot we've found in San Diego for low key day drinking.

The drinks are great and the bartenders are creative and nice. The popcorn is definitely an added bonus. If you're looking for a chill place to spend some time (especially on a warm San Diego afternoon), this would be a great call.

Have NEVER been treated so bad by a bartender in my life. WILL NEVER GO BACK. He literally asked people who had just walked up to the bar for their drinks when I had been waiting 20 minutes, he then said I see you man and gave me the just wait finger. Chose to serve all the ladies first, then asked me to leave and said I was being "aggressive". No, girl. He just didn't want a big gay guy up his straight bar, and I'm not the only one according to others on Yelp who've also heard his homophobic BS in the past. Listen up you sheltered little ginger, you have no idea what aggression is. Your job is to serve, and you suck at it.

Aside from him the atmosphere is terrible. The drinks were weak. The whole place feels like it is trying way too hard to be cool. Terrible.

I hate this place because I never want to leave. This one time I was there and Jeffrey Paradise was spinning the gnarliest tunes! And his sidekick super Sam was dialing in the hits too! Keep it real y'all!

This place had a great lay out and vibe. Great selection of beer and craft cocktails. 4 stars because I happened to be there when a band was playing, which cramped the bar. The stage is right beside the door so it became hard to come and go, and just too loud to have a conversation. I'd go back on a night without a band, for sure.

We came here to celebrate my fiance's friend's birthday. I think there was an old bar here before -- I can't remember. But this was a much nicer bar than before. Don't get me wrong, I loved the place before, but I am not really into the bar scene anymore.
