Good skying, cable car ride to peak is very scenic. Nice shopping, good food at reasonable price. Fun for whole family, children can do slides
Squaw Valley, what can I say, my home mountain for 20 years and it never disappoints!
Great mountain with major ski history. Lots for non skiers to do, some of the best expert terrain in America
Tram ride with kids to grab a lunch. Good food and view .
Can get blown out easily and the trails from the top to the bottom are narrow and can get icy.
They handle crowd effectively and the resort has a lot of trials for all kinds of skiers. One of the best ski resorts I have been to.
Squaw valley is such a beautiful place both in summer and winter. I really enjoy this place, they have nice caring and loving staff so that's a must that they accomplish. They have decent hotel rooms. I love how there's a little shopping square within the village as with food and the bars. So that way you don't have to go anywhere else besides just in the village with all that provided. My opinion probably the best place to ski and snowboard
A first class ski center, reliable and very good. I would like to return to squaw valley
Always best terrain and best snow. Operations are not as good as used to be before new corporate owners. Ski school is meh (kids don't learn much - you have to pay $$$$ for privates to really see improvmnt.) Applaud investment in express lifts, but staff doesn't do much. No traffic control in the lines and on slopes. Congestion points are a mess and super dangerous. More signs, ropes and mesh dividers aren't really helping!!
I wanted to surprise my daughter and her husband with something special when they arrived at resort. I contacted the Concierge Kate to make my request. I was amazed at the great information and assistance I received. I have never received such great customer service! From the moment they answered the phone until I made my request I was treated with such courtesy and kindness. Thank you so very much for helping me make my kid s vacation just a little more special. Thank you Kate!
Pretty decent considering it was spring skiing conditions.
1 of the Grand places 2 ski in the world. HIGHLY recommend if get a chance.
Great spot, huge mountain with good food options in the lodge. We liked the team that took you up in a covered seated team for a 3 mile downhill run. This was the only way to handle the cold rainy day on the mountain New Years Day
Great ski resort, cheap(er) lift tickets available at Costco. Easy access to lifts, shuttle bus available for parking, and a great beginner slope.
Should win best spring skiing of the century
Is beer has broken records for selling Pabst blue ribbon.
18 of us gathered here for a 3 day bachelor party and it was great. Plenty of nice restaurants, and things to do for seasoned pros and begginers alike. Parking seemed abundant and it was only a 20min drive from Truckee on an abnormally warm MLK weekend (mid Jan).
Nice tram rides. Train will take 2000ft height and will drop you there and you will have all time to do hike site seeing on the valley.Till 5pm. Last tram goes down at 5pm.. Nice views and has some snow left in July as well..
Since 1960, Squaw has only gotten better. Quaint ski village with fun restaurants, shopping and Saturday night fireworks!
THE place to ski and snowboard if you love advanced terrain.
Pretty good when the lifts aren t closed for high winds
The best skiing in the Tahoe region. Love the Squaw Village with all the stores and restaurants.
Often too crowded but if you get away from crowded center it's nice with challenging runs.
Great place to stay. The room and views were spectacular. Staff very friendly and helpful.
I ski at Squaw, and love going up. The snow is great, and every lift is open. It is huge, so people can spread out all over the mountain.
Overall the best ski resort in California. KT. Granite. Headwall. Silverado. Terrain, vibe, quality of ski team and coaches, conditions, and apres at Chamois. I m so lucky this is our home ski hill.
Beautiful getaway summer or winter. Many restaurants and shops. Ski lifts for in and out. Lots of hiking options and close to Lake Tahoe and Truckee for even more options. The area has a European ski village atmosphere. Recommend.
$169 for a single day lift ticket is just plain greedy and evil, I seriously can't believe it
Some of the best terrain in North America! You'll never get bored on this mountain. Just when you think you know it, new surprises await you!
Awesome resort if you're looking for good natural terrain. The terrain park is pathetic, but why ride park when you have good snow on the rest of mountain?
We had a great ride: it was not very snowy and not all the slopes were open, but even so, we spent two wonderful days here. It can be quite crowded, especially on the lift ah, leading to the blue and green slopes. Come early. It is best to park right next to the lift on the left side of the parking lot.
Great skiing! Many trails, all well covered. And the instructors were experienced and friendly (for the most part).
I used to not like Squaw as it seems either for beginners or experts and not much middle. It does take some getting used to finding your way around I've now found great terrain and grooming. Still like Alpine better as it's friendlier but now you can ski both on the same pass.
Great place for skiing.Blessed with Nature in abundance.
Love it, always ine of the best places to snowboard or ski in the tahoe area. I come back time after time with friends and by myself. Great terrain. Good areas for kids. Excellent views
Season pass holder for 2nd season in a row and what a crazy season its been! I mean we saw it all this season and Squaw didn't disappoint. One suggestion or want would be to bring back night riding with park and pipe features.
Huge area between the two resorts. A lot of runs. Just not enough elevation change and not the greatest park area.
Great service! And hundreds of colorful butterflies help!
Overall a mediocre skiing experience. Only good during record breaking snow year due to low base altitude. Decent verical although only about 1000 ft. of its 2800 has decent snow. The overall consensus I keep hearing is " best mountain at Tahoe" . I can think of more than 25 resorts in the states that dominate the Lake Tahoe area and I have skiied them all over and over. If you like steeps and deep with great snow try Jackson Hole or any Resort in Utah or if in California try Mammoth a much better Sierra experience!
Beautiful shopping Village. And the mountain is amazing
Well maintained, organized, easy to reach. A little expensive ... But like almost all beautiful USA
Love that place! Nice shops, restaurants, fire pits. Beautiful mountain view and lift that takes you up to the mountains even in summer time to Olympic Valley. A bit too pricey though for a lift itself during non skiing season which is $23 or so..
Huge area. Some fast lifts over good variety of terrain. But not cheap. Especially if too full so you have to use the obnoxious pay lot:(.
Re: Reply--But will the pay parking be back again early next season like it was? What's the justification for it?
Great ski resort. The village is perfect for finding whatever you need fit your staying.
Great terrain but it is very poorly managed.
These guys can't keep lifts running. Maintanence issues, understaffing, just poor operational management.
I live in the area and also have a place in Colorado and I can definitively say that the difference in operational management is extremely palpable. A lot of wasted powder days because these guys don't have their operational services on par with other resorts around the country. Lines can be hours long due to mismanagement.
Squaw Valley! Home to the 1960 Winter Olympics! So you also get access to Alpine Meadows with your lift ticket but I didn't have time to check it out. The resort is hugely spaced out with lots of open runs and wide open powder bowls. I will say that compared to Heavenly and Northstar, the runs are mostly shorter. There are some VERY advanced areas though, so if you want some challenging runs they definitely have them. The village is pretty nice, not as nice as Northstar's but has a better apres.
Lifts and runs were awesome and the staff couldn't have been any nicer. Favorite resort for sure lol
Simply the BEST sandwiches, smoothies, wraps and hot chocolate in all of Squaw!
Amazing place to stay in winter. This resort turns into a paradise after a snowfall. Lovely location!
There not prepared for covid times. The price is for all the amenities you can't use. What am I waisting my money on? This doesn't feel like a family friendly place. Our view is of weeds is underwhelming.
There was a yoga event going on so it was busy but fun. I don't think they feature the Olympic aspect of the area enough though.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. Great resort!
Horrible service... disgusting rooms very run down.
One of the best ski areas in the country! Challenging and diverse terrain. Fun place to go!
Great hikes in the summer and a free gondola ride back down if you make the summit. Winter there isnt anywhere else that can match their Olympic runs.
Pretty great runs available. Park is vast and could take three days to explore everything. I liked the backside since they had two bowls that are really fun to go down.
Expensive as f***. I can not see how $180 per day is justified. $130 if you buy at REI great mountain when there is a really snow but for that price I'll go some where else.
The runs and snow were great.
For a first time there, they were terrible at directing us where to go to get tickets and hire equipment. We ended up queueing in the wrong shop (the inn ski shop), not squaw valley, before getting turned away. Then they gave us the wrong voucher to get ski clothes and had to call someone to switch the voucher out.
They don't rent jackets, and quickly run out of ski pants.
Great place to stay! We went in the summer for a festival and it was a wonderful experience with lots to do.
Climb it, see waterfalls, see forever from the top, take the team down, Awesome
Beautiful view, great restaurants, and the tram is amazing.
Disappointing first time stay, we were told we would be getting a one bedroom suite, however we got a normal room which didn t work since there were 2 couples. TV channels didn t work most of the day. Worst part was the snow plows/heavy machinery going on all night long outside our room. We slept very little both nights due to this. Lastly and most disappointing was the fact they wouldn t let us check out late, despite all the highways being closed and we literallly had nowhere to go. Definitely would not come back. I will say the heated underground parking is nice, and the rest of the village is great.
We are a family of 3 (includes a toddler). We don't ski/snow-board but love to be around snow. This place is ideal for someone like us. Great eating places, the ride to the highland is worth it even if you are not skiing. Good idea to out your name down at the pizza place so that you explore and come back to a ready table. We almost missed the huge food court at the back, incase you want that kind of a meal.
This place looks amazing to bad i was in the area a week before the season started. I seen alot of employees getting everything ready for opening day.
Marvelous snow mountains enjoy with kids, couples, lovers and all
