As a recent graduate from the guide dog program I have only praises to sing of this incredible organization.

The warmth and professionalism of every employee is exceptional. My classmates and I felt part of a larger family who cared deeply for each dog they raised, trained and placed.

Their loving care extended to the students as we lived for three intense weeks of training on the beautiful Palmetto campus.

Don t get me wrong...training is hard. Your days are long and there is so much to learn sometimes you feel like you can never learn it all. But you do...with incredible and personalized care from the trainers.

If you feel you need the help of a companion in your life to get you moving forward again Southeastern Guide Dogs is the place to go!

Southeastern Guide Dogs is an excellent non profit that gets no government funding, raises money through fundraising and provides the blind with dogs to guide them through the world and comforting, service dogs to guard and protect veterans from a world that they are afraid of. The facilities are excellent and provide a comfortable place for students to live and learn how to use their dogs. Raising puppies for them has been one of the most rewarding experiences ever. They provide support for raisers and make the turning in process a little less painful. I highly recommend them if you need a dog or want to raise one.

I picked up my first Southeastern Guide Dog puppy on 03-17-18. Corty is a three month old yellow lab. SEGD did a great job in the picking up puppy experience and made each puppy raiser feel very important. I raised a guide dog puppy for another organization and they did not make us feel as welcome as SEGD did. I am looking forward to the next year with Corty and turning him back for his formal training.

Shady business practices. They also report all negative reviews as inaccurate to avoid it impacting their rating. Do not donate to this non-profit. Your charity would be better spent at other non-profits.

I have only been with the Southeastern Guide Dog organization for two months and my experience has exceeded my expectations. I am a volunteer helper in the Puppy Kindergarten and love the interaction with the puppies. The staff has been unbelievably helpful. I was pleasantly surprised how much I learned and was allowed to do on my first volunteer shift. I have never been bored or without something to do which I love. I want to be busy and helpful. The whole organization is so well run. The written procedures and instructions around the area are very helpful and easily understood. I love that there are a variety of opportunities and I plan to take advantage of them. I have signed up for PK 201, Puppy sitter, Puppy retreat and Canine camp. Thank you Southeastern Guide Dogs for this opportunity and for all you do.

Unfortunately Southeastern Guide dogs would not consider me for a Veteran Emotional Support Dog. They made this decision without ever meeting me. They sent me a rejection letter in someone else name. Their reasoning for denial was I wouldn't be able to bath the dog. My grown son lives with me and there's always Petsmart. The woman was condescending and rude. Stating they really didn't have to state why a person is denied and that I would never get one of their dogs.
Update;
I adopted a rescue Lab mix from Nate's Honor Rescue. Yes, I can bath it, take it out, and feed it. Due to my disabilities it is taking longer to train it myself. Whereas if I had received a trained dog it would have been so much easier.
I will never support the Southeaster Guide Dogs because of this.
