SNG opera & balet Ljubljana - Slovenia Review

I had a very enjoyable afternoon in Ljubljana , the evening Performance of Sleeping Beauty was excellent

Opera, which is the largest and most beautiful in Slovenia. However, I suggest taking a bottle of water to the performances, as the drink there is extremely expensive (half a liter of water is 2).

The architecture is absolutely breathtaking. The overall appearance of the opera house is one of the best I have ever seen. The opera and ballet ensemble are also well-versed at what they do. The downside of this opera house are the ushers and some Ljubljana visitors, who do not seem to understand what a proper opera dress is. The ushers are usually students dressed in all-black, so they look like undertakers. Furthermore, a typical opera dress code for men and women is black tie. They can be some deviations, like a navy or black lounge suit for men and something not so formal like an evening gown for women. Yet, I have seen men in sweaters and women wearing leather jackets with trousers. I mean, you could never see something like that in Vienna or New York. But overall, I give it four out five because of the quality of the performance and architecture.
