Located on the beautiful Lido Beach, it boasts beautiful beaches and access to South Lido Park. In addition to the views, about 5 minutes away by car is St. Armand's Circle, home to a massive amount of restaurants and stores. It's a beautiful place. Rooms are all cleaned very well, have all the appliances and are constantly updated. Staff is great and friendly. I would highly recommend Sarasota Sands to anyone willing to have a great vacation getaway.

Room needs the plates, bowls cups and silverware for number of people that they rate the room for. Bed other that the master were uncomfortable Charged for extra detergent for dishwasher, AC was loud at check in but was fixed next day. Very good location and enjoyed our time there. Staff was friendly.
Very nice the first two times we were there. New management the third time. A big rude guy who has an axe to grind against Tom Brady and the Patriots. His screen savers all say Cheatriots. If you're a Patriots fan I would recommend keeping it on the down low. Really weird.
Right at the bottom end of Lido Key, next to the State Natural Park, is Sarasota Sannd Resort. A converted motel, the rooms are spacious, although the kitchen was small. Loved the location. Staff very cheerful and accommodating. Lovely pool and grassy areas surrounding it, plus a tennis court that looked newly surfaced. The highlight is that each floor has a wonderful extended walkway/balcony out front and chairs to sit outside. A very communal atmosphere. Loads of things to do in Sarasota and surrounding areas. We ate at O'Leary's (our favorite), and Marina Jack's. Went to the Theater, rented a kayak, took a catamaran sunset trip, visited Siesta Key Beach, rode our bikes on the Venice canal bike trail. Unfortunately, our vacation was cut short as Hurricane Florence bore down on our home town of Jacksonville, NC. We would LOVE to go back!
Our family has been staying here for over 10 years during the 4th of July. This place is a true Gem. Awesome resort, fantastic beaches and close to everything at affordable family prices. Check it out. You will be very glad you did.
Awesome beach front location and a quick drive to St Armand s circle. For being nearly 40 years old I was surprised to find that our unit had new blinds, granite counters and new bathrooms. They even had a nice game room on site. My only complaint is the pool and activities don t open for children until 10 am. (Oh and the front desk staff had quite the attitude.)
GREAT PLACE TO STAY.RIGHT ON THE BEACH.FRIENDLY STAFF ALL THE ROOMS HAVE SUFFICIENT UTENSILS ETC.HAVE STAYED HERE SEVERAL TIMES. I GIVE IT FOUR STARS BECAUSE IT LACKS A BAR OR RESTAURANT ALSO THE IRONING BOARDS ARE TOO SMALL APART FROM THAT PERFECT.
We have been coming here for years, while old or dated in some respects it is very well maintained. Located at nearly the end of the road and next to a county park it is quiet but a short drive up to St. Armands Circle. There is lots to do, right on the Gulf of Mexico with direct beach access (Lido Beach). They have a nice pool and hot tub, tennis courts, shuffle board, a game room with pool tables, game tables, etc., sauna, and more. In the summer when we come lots of families.
A great family resort with plenty of activities for everyone. Great place to relax, also, with a white sand beach and the clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico almost right outside your door. Whether you want to take a dip in the ocean or in More
We are members of the club and go here often and we like very much. This is a nice place with 3 restaurants, great accommodations, a nice pool, and a great beach. This is a great resort in a great location.
I've been coming here since 1983 and it's my home away from home . I've never seen any bed bugs here and I have checked . It's a great family destination. The pool and the beach are right here close together, it doesn't get any better!
When I was growing up my grandma had a timeshare at the Sands. Every Memorial Day and Thanksgiving weekend everyone would get together there. After she passed she passed it on to my uncle and they've been keeping the tradition alive.
Best beach access and location for the price! Rooms are older but well maintained and have all the amenities necessary for a short or longer stay. Short distance to St. Armand's circle for some great shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend for families, couples, and anyone that enjoys the beach!
Nice staff, excellent service and a beautiful view of the gulf. Breathing view from the game room. Variety of activities including a private beach, a pool, a hot tub, shuffle boarding and various games and puzzles in the game room on the fourth floor. Definitely worth a visit, only downside is slow wifi that often doesn't connect, and you must be 18 to be alone in the pool area ( I'm 14 ) and in the game room. But still an awesome place to stay hands down 9/10
My family has been coming here for 25 years, and we have always enjoyed our stay. This past trip, however, we returned home with bed bugs. The after-math has been nothing short of a living nightmare. When I called two days after returning home, I had to call twice to get a manager to return my call. (You would think a call like this would put a hotel on high-alert... I was told it was the first time they were hearing of my call!). All three people I spoke to, including the general manager, were very dismissive, and basically told me that it is not their problem, they can come from anywhere. What is even worse, they said there is a family staying in that room now, so they cannot go in there. ????? Good luck to that poor family! The resort is not even looking to see if there are bugs in the room! The fact that this place is denying having them at all, so much so that they will not even check the room, is just irresponsible. They said the family in there now "has not seen anything." Of course not! They come out in the pre-dawn hours and are very very small, and I did not see anything there either of course. Even in my own home, I have finally found ONE, after combing my room/bed for three days. I am confident they came from Sarasota Sands because I noticed some bites on my arms and shoulders and arm-pits about halfway through the trip, and no one else was getting bites (I thought maybe mosquitos?). I was with two other groups who stayed in two different rooms, on two different floors. When I returned home on Saturday, I made the mistake of putting on laundered clothes from my suitcase to save myself from putting more laundry away... huge mistake: within an hour, I was covered with bites and my whole body was itching out of control. I have not slept in three nights, and our house is being torn apart. Every piece of clothing, stuffed animals, bedding, and linens has to be washed in hot and dried, then sealed in garbage bags. I have had to take two, going on three days off of work just to get through all the laundry, the constant Lysol-ing and vacuuming until the treatment is completed tomorrow. My extermination company told me that most hotels/resorts will pay for the very costly treatment (can be several thousand dollars), so I can see why Sarasota Sands does not want to have any part in this. Even after explaining the timeline of events very politely, I was met with a dismissive and defensive response. I will keep working on having them help with this problem, and if they do so, I will update my review to reflect that they at least are willing to help solve the problem, rather than ignore it. So disappointed and upset. I need a vacation from my return home from vacation!
We absolutely love this resort. We come here every year and its always an amazing experience. Friendlys and courteous staff. And also great access to the beach ans some of the the most beautiful sunsets!! Great restaurants and shopping nearby. They also have kayaking and jetski rentals near by. Once you vist the more your going to want to come back over and over . It will be the family trip to remember.
We come here almost every year. This resort is small, quiet, and super laid back. Nestled on the end of Lido Beach it truly is the best location. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Beach is clean, water is perfect, and the sea life is abundant. We had a manatee swim right up to us our second day here. It was amazing!
Haven't ever stayed here. I was about to book a week this summer until I re as d the review posted a couple weeks ago. I would love to know the outcome on the bed bug situation. Hotel comments????
