Nice way to spend some time in downtown Toronto. It's not too big - just enough to see a lot but not get tired. Gift shop had some nice affordable souvenirs.

Great displays great service staff are extremely polite go to work on the price of food a little bit but other than that had a fantastic experience
The pictures speak volumes, a fun place in the heart of downtown :)
Purchase the Ripley's combo, definitely worth it!
We went on a Saturday evening right in the beginning of spring. I don't know if it was quiet because of the time of year, or the weather - but it was amazing. Overall it's an amazing place but the crowds can be a turn off. And it's expensive but this particular night was not too busy, and we just soaked in everything. I only want to go again if it's this quiet tbh.
This place is big on the outside look but not so big on the inside. I visited it 4 years ago and just recently came to the place again. Not many changes. It is worth to visit once in a while (like in my case 4 years a time :D). The place can be explored within 3 hours maximum if you are not going with your kids, that is also said when you walk really slow and read all the panel on the wall. So recommend visit after 7 for a lower price (37$ to 33$).
i was dying to go to the aquarium. a lot of ppl were here today but it was alright. i rly wanna go again lmao
No idea why this is so well rated in Toronto. It s an average aquarium and feels a little dated. The CN tower is worth doing, this.. not so much.
My son wasnt able to use anything there and they want full price i wont be going back this doesnt make any sense either open or don't just take our money and not let kids enjoy it
One of the major attraction in downtown Toronto located just beside to CN Tower. It is easy to reach there via subway and bus. Union Station is well connected to this.
If you wish to spend 2-3 hours to see something interesting, then it is best choice.
You gonna see wide variety of aquatic life from different parts of globe.
Also a top choice if you are going with kids.
We were very pleasantly surprised by this aquarium. A lot of north Atlantic and North Pacific fish which are not always seen in other aquariums. The video displays were very informative.
This is a completely wonderful aquarium. Such a vast array of species, in so many huge tanks, with excellent signage, and brilliant, informed and friendly staff.
The shark tunnel is unlike any I've been through elsewhere, not only with the slow moving walkway to stop awful people from barging others along, but with the length, range of angles, and breathtaking closeness to huge sand tiger sharks.
A really fantastic day out.
One of the best aquariums I have ever been at. Too many variaties are in but the physical real estate of the place, I think, could be a little bit bigger. Other than that, a spot on!
came with my sons 8 and 6. spent 3 hours here and had so much fun. it's beautiful and very well made
Many aquariums of various sizes, huge variety of aquatic life, beautiful & interesting. I'll never be visiting the Toronto area without going to Ripley's again. Great experience. There's seating along a few of the aquariums so you can take your time & really enjoy what they have to offer.
If you're interested in aquatic life it's a great way to spend an afternoon! The fish are mesmerizing and it's a lot more fun now that they've limited the number of people entering due to covid so you can take your time with each exhibit. The interactive areas where you can see the fish swim around are great for kids!
Family visit place. Cool fish and sea creatures. I love the jellyfish!
Pretty great place when it's not overcrowded or filled with kids.
My kids really liked the visit. It was fun. We were able to finish the visit in 1.5 hours
It is one if the best aquariums I have seen. We can see dangerous sharks to sea horses and many more it was a beautiful experience in side. As we move along many varieties of fish will be floating all the three sides. There are many game's for children. They can touch and feel some of the rear varieties of fish and tortoises.
We went on a very busy day unfortunately. So many strollers and families so it felt a little claustrophobic. Didnt stop my little one from enjoying it though... so will def come back
Enjoyed seeing all the different species of marine life. Really enjoyed the moving sidewalk through the shark area. Ultimate favourite part were the cleaning shrimp.
Great variety of aquatic life available for viewing and learning about. Loved the accessibility of galleries (no stairs = great for older folks and buggies), really loved the conveyor belt through the lagoon exhibition. Enjoyed petting the horseshoe crabs - one very knowledgable aquarium employee gave us lots of information on them, wish I could remember her name! - and especially the rays (though I wish there was another employee there to stop visitors from splashing the water, I doubt the rays enjoyed that any more than I did). Discounts for Presto users and post-secondary students were very much appreciated! Will definitely come back.
Awesome experience.
I touched some of the fishes over there. It was light and plesent feeling
I love coming here, honestly. It's a wonder every time and just to see my kids light up with brand new excitement each time around is so great to see. The overall design and layout of all of the sections is great, too. Great flow through and there's no confusion on where to go next or anything like that.
It's just so wonderful, there is a lot of fish species and they are all so cool. You feel yourself in that environment with them. It's a great experience and nice activity to do in family, with friends or with your lover!
Absolutely amazing experience! Sharks and mantra rays swimming overhead!! You stand on a moving sidewalk and it takes you through the whole tunnel, you never have anyone standing in front of you!
Charging for coat check seems over board one has already been charged enough. Just open a coat room for people to utlilize. Otherwise the exhibits are great.
I bought my 5pm tour tickets the day before our actual tour. Wasn't expecting to get to Toronto super late! (I'm from mtl) I emailed them and told them about my situation and asked them if I can pay the difference for a day tour instead for the next day. They told me to have my old tickets with me and the email. Got there the next day and told them about my situation and less than 10 minutes, I received my new tickets. It was our very first time and we loved it. My kids loved it so much. They eve had the chance to high five a stingray!!! Their covid and distancing procedure are profesionally well taken care of! Thank you for your the first time experience and service!!!
One of the cities most iconing places to visit . Must go have fun and explore a different world.
This is one of the most fascinating indoor exhibits that I have ever been to in Canada. Leave it to Ripley's to make one more attraction that leaves it's customers in complete awe(even adults). Petting baby sting rays and shark was so awesome!
Amazing! Well worth it, look for deals online for cheaper prices. You can run through the whole place in a couple of hours, but if you really want to enjoy yourself plan for 3. Bring food and drink as it is expensive. You can fill your water bottles for free inside.
Very nice aquarium. The place looks great, lots of fish variety. Long "sidewalk" takes you for a tour under of what is probably their biggest tank. Loved it
This was my first visit to Ripley's Aquarium of Canada and no doubt it is one of the must-visit places in Toronto. The experience is eventually an amazing one. This place should be admired for it's built up and the construction. Every underwater sea creature and it's info has been captured very minutely and all it an in-aquarium interaction for the kids. You see 100's of different fishes placed in the giant and machine-controlled aquarium and to make sure fishes get that experience, they built in the wave-like scenario within the aquarium. The best part of the aquarium is the tunnel experience. You feel an underwater experience with Sharks, Stingray, and other rare species. Do watch out for the jellyfishes that glow in like an illumination light. There are a variety of carnivorous plants, octopus, isopods that you will get to explore so don't miss out on the fun with your family. At the end of the aquarium you will also be able to interact with the friendly Stingray fish in a tank plus if you want to collect some souvenirs and other stuff it's there too.
Here are a few things I feel that could have been done right after the reopening:
A wonderful experience! Being exposed to so many species I ve never even heard of was both educational and interesting, had the absolute best time. Will be visiting again in the future :)
Beautiful tourist attraction with plenty to do for kids, family and all ages.
Updated displays and food kiosks make it more of a marketable destination. Loved the fresh donut kiosk and the snack/coffee bar kiosk. Also, new and updated info panels and hands on activities that will make it enjoyable for kids.
Absolutely amazing place to visit!! Great way to learn all about the under world beneath the waters. Lots of hands on activities for the kids too!!
Awesome experience better than Dubai aquarium or Atlantis in Dubai. We saw the Ray feeding show while we were inside and enjoyed it very much
A great place for kids.
Friendly and helpful staffs .
I also appreciate this place because there are many small science / exploration games for the kids. There are many small but useful games like this. It is very good.
Children get lots of information about fish and marine animals. They are seen and touched again. And they really like that.
Beautifully designed; an amazing opportunity to see water creatures of all shapes and sizes up close. But holy cow, the place gets packed! Don't go on a weekend or wait until the kids go back to school to really enjoy it. Overall a really nice place to visit.
Wonderful aquarium. That being said it can get quite crowded so this isn t the place for you if you don t want to deal with lols of people. They have a great variety of fish for the size of the aquarium. The staff is pleasant and informative. We took part in the sting ray experience. The girl that provided our behind the scenes tour provided us with a wealth of information but also allowed us to ask questions. The locker rooms to get changed in are spacious and clean. The in water portion of the experience was lots of fun and the in water guide provided great information. About the rays themselves.
One of the best aquariums I've ever been. Worth the visit.
It's a great way to see all the ocean has to offer. The Sting Ray's and that's are AWESOME!!! Tip : if you can going off peak hours during the day. better chance of seeing everything without a lot of noise from other people who also want to see the sharks and stingrays. You can also get hands on some of the exhibits. All in all its always great time had by all!!!
Great to go with family and specially kids. Very well maintained. Has a cute little gift-shop. Overall, it s a fun experience.
Wonderful to see the different sea creatures up close. I Love the underwater experience where you pass by the glass passage and you can clearly see the big fishes and sharks swimming above you.
Nice place, can visit for one or two hours. The underwater tunnel is amazing, took a lot of photo infront of jellyfishes tank.
Very well curated aquarium. You will see a very diverse set of species. There is one huge tank in which you will get an almost 360 degree view which is breathtaking to say the least! And cherry on the cake is the jellyfish section in the end!
Great place to visit. Had fun and really enjoyed all the exhibits!!
Really enjoyed my stay at Ripley s. Loved the shark exhibit!
Sharks. Rays. and did i mention Sharks? lol. wonderful aquarium. The highlight were the sharks are rays. Be sure to check out the interactive touch pools. Touched a horseshoe crab and shark for the first time.
It is one of the best aquariums to be visited, the central attraction is a fish tank where you will find all marine ecosystem in which the largest sharks on the planet live together
Very good selection of aquatic species, beautifully clean tanks and animals all seemed well cared for. Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend as one of the top places to visit in Toronto.
My 4 year old spent 5 hours at this aquarium, he loves the sharks and turtles.
And their boats play set is extremely good, and he will play with it for hours
Amazing. We went in the evening so it wasn't too crowded. Logistical excellent point: in areas of potential high traffic is a "people mover" to avoid crowding and loitering. Aside from the obvious, it was interesting to see the huge water pumps, and tanks for each water environment as a query I had was, "I wonder how temperature, O2 level and salinity for each environment is consistently maintained?"
Great aquarium, I'd try and find a not busy to really enjoy. Read the warning signs. Be careful attempting to pet those mini hammer heads. They can be quite predatory. And don't bother trying to pet the jelly fish. Guaranteed sting no matter how you do it.
A must visit place in Toronto. It takes about 3 hours to fully and properly explore the aquarium. Enjoyable for all age groups. I really liked my visit. The best part is that it's open till 11 pm so you can visit during weekdays after office hours.
Wow! One of the best places to visit on holiday. For all ages.
Great aquarium but too crowded. The place would benefit from selling less tickets and allowing the patrons for a better experience. It was hard to walk around at times
Other than that, great place to visit with the family.
Love it here I'd go back. One of Toronto's remarkable aquarium exhibits. I've never seen so many different species from the smallest to the largest . The whole experience and lots of interaction with mantas. The staff are friendly and the areas are clean and tidy
My children had the most wonderful time here. The downside is trying to get them to leave. I would definitely recommend taking your kids here it will be a day of so much fun.
Kids had a ball adults were in awe of the beauty of this place definitely will be back
It was the first time going there with my daughter and my brother we went for his birthday and we got the combo package to you see the CN tower also, it was really exhilarating to see all the different fish and sharks! It was very calming going in there just watching all the fish swim around and to see all the different species!! Can't wait to come back!!
We visited during Christmas holidays...was crowded heavily...well maintained, very informative and innovative galleries...main attraction is the underwater tunnel walk ...could take many pics with sharks and sting Ray's...liked it
Located beside the CN tower and Rogers Centre this Disney-style aquarium is targeted for young kids but has something for the whole family. Make sure to check the schedule because they often have Jazz nights with alcohol for adults.
Ripley s is named after the famous book of outstanding facts.
My favourite part of the aquarium is how late it is open till.
Good place for whole family. Clean and large fish tanks. Very competitive ticket prices. Good location and friendly staff.
Very expensive (I think $36 per adult) but pretty cool. Definitely a good time, and from what I saw the "no outside food or drink" is a guideline, not a hard rule.
The touch tank has a number of cool animals, including, but not limited to sharks.
It's best to go at night as a group preferably with your friends. Pick the weekends for a party night to enjoy good music along with amazing aquarium experience. The food is great too! The views you'll see of the sea creatures is just truly delightful, needless to say that because it's Ripley's. There are so many Sharks and other types of fishes. And the overall structure is also very authentic. Should not be missed!
Really cool experience to see a bunch of fish and other sea creatures. Sharks were also very exciting to see. I especially liked the see-through tunnel.
Just an amazing exhibition, touches all your senses including tactile, I got to touch a real as it swam by. Arcade for the visitors who need a break for a couple of minutes, good food. My only negative is the souvenirs ( not all) dollar store quality with downtown Toronto prices.
A bit over priced as you are done in under 40 minutes. However the presentation and variety of species on display is on point. I would recommend trying Groupon to save on the ticket price.
This is place is so cool! Has all the fish you want to see (except whales and dolphins). The tunnel is probably the best part. You feel surrounded by sea life!
It was such a magical experience. It felt very safe as all the Covid precautions are being maintained, while still keeping it enjoyable for the visitors.
Enjoyed our visit. I heard a lot of comments about it being a packed location but going in the winter on an off day means that there was space, it wasn't packed, and we got to spend a lot of time at each exhibit rather than being herded through. Highly recommend!
Any Aquarium with a moving sidewalk you already know is worth a visit. Seeing so many exotic animals in one place is stellar & I think the fact that you were allowed to touch a stingray & shark (In a controlled environment of course) was a very neat edition!
This place is for family, especially for the young ones who can explore and learn more of the living things in the water. We always find that purchasing tickets online can save us the "line up" times. We went here on a weekday but because it's summer we still find it very busy. There were kids here and there (not that it bothered us). We saw different fishes in different tanks. I was probably expecting something big of a tunnel where i can walk and see the fishes (like what i saw in other aquariums). Here's the fun part, you can actually touch the other animals with provision and caution.
I really liked it! This Aquarium is so big, it's amazing. I went with the CityPass and it has a "skip line up", so worth it. It's a must see if you are in Downtown Toronto
It was awesome. Second time there. The sharks are just huge. Octopus tank I wish was a bit bigger. But all in all, the place is amazing. Generally pretty crowded though. Make sure you buy your tickets online before you go. It's like 6 bucks cheaper a ticket.
Amazing tunnel experience - got some great snaps of smiling stingrays!
Put in some better food in the food court and it will then deserve a 5 stars
It's a great place to go to for exploring or just strolling through. I enjoyed multiple family trips. But it's also a lunch time gem if you're working downtown.
My family loved this place. I highly suggest going if you haven't been. My family visited from overseas and everyone loved it from my parents to my children. Gift shop is nice too buy the kids some souvenirs.
Great place especially if you can get a discounted tickets (sign up for their mailing list). Exhibits are always world class and lots of different animal life to see
Amazing place for everyone!!! My family really did enjoy the Ripley's Aquarium.
It's a nice place to go visit, and you get to see all the sea creatures.
Absolutely stunning The views of Aquarium will make your jaw drop for sure I recommend, Just go for it If you're taking your kids They're gonna love this as anything else. Best place for kids to enjoy
Why is there a 2 meter long eel in a tank that is 2 x 1 meters?
My toddler had a great time. There's lots of little nooks and bubbles to crawl around in- highly recommended
Amazing experience indeed! It's my second time here and I'm still in loveee!
Amazing experience! Very rich in knowledge and amazement.
Love the aquarium! This was my second time going. My favourite part is at the end where you can pet the little sting rays. They always seem to happy and come up close for attention.
I like the section they have dedicated to showing you the water filtration. It really helps show just how much goes into keeping the animals healthy.
Huge place where you can see almost every marine animal even rare species like sharks! Great experience, highly recommended for families, students and sea life lovers where all will have fun while educating as well! Place is very organized and staff are very nice. There is also a souvenirs shop.
Great place to take the kids..
Spent around 2.5 hours in the evening. .
Would definitely recommend.
Only negative was that there was no parking. We had to pay 27 $ at the parking plaza across the street
My kids loved this place! So many fishes to see and fun things to do. A must see when coming to Toronto.
My 11 year old son loved the place! So much to see and get close to but also a big place with stuff to play with hands on.
