Brilliant tour operator with amazing staff. It was very wet and windy when we visited the reef so the ocean was very choppy. Quicksilver was still able to operate the tour and give us a great experience. Their staff were well prepared to help people with every level of fitness and had thought through every eventuality. Their pontoon on the edge of the ocean shelf is a brilliant facility with an underwater viewing gallery, They served a very decent meal and had multiple options to view the reef (submersible for those who wanted to stay dry, snorkelling and scuba diving). Their staff are a define highlight - loved the way they took care of every one with professionalism and a big smile! Definitely recommended!

A great day tour to the Agincourt outer reef for families and not so sure swimmers. Great service and great staff.

Having been to Cairns a couple of times without the kids, we were looking for something that catered for a teenager, a tweenager and the two of us. I've been to Green Island six years ago & Fitzroy Island four years ago and only having six days in town, we wanted something comfortable on the outer reef and as much activities encompassing in a one day tour.

We travelled on 2nd of Jan and all had a great time. The good swimmers in our group spent nearly all their time out on the snorkelling. The others enjoyed the submarine tours. There are extras, like any other tourist venture, however the tour includes wetsuits, booties, snorkelling gear and importantly enough lifesaving staff to keep an eye on swimmers.

As regards the food, it was plentiful and actually quite good for a buffet -
out on the barrier reef (I've worked a bit in corporate hospitality, its pretty good).

If you want a smaller group, can swim well, know how to dive, have a family that all want the same things - this is not for you.

If not, I reckon this is the outer barrier reef tour for you.

Great experience. The hosts where great and very informational. We had unfortunate rough seas, therefore a lot of sick people. The hosts where excellent with providing towels, ice and bags. The only thing is I wish they had a sick area, so we didn t have to watch or smell people being sick.
Snorkeling was great, even though again rough seas (can t be helped). A lot of wildlife to be seen

This is a good experience taking care of non swimmers. They have a buffet lunch. Ideal would be to head there in cruise have a tea/water with biscuits
After reaching there be there in line for the submarine. get that done first. Get your lunch and keep them reserve with them.
Have an fruit which would be light and good before swimming. Take the snockrling wet suit and equipments. Enjoy as much as you can.

On your way back eat your food.

Staff on the boat were fantastic, but let down massively by the staff on the pontoon some of who were quite rude and unhelpful. Generally well organised but cost was not worth the experience. The snorkeling area was very small, the food mediocre, but at least plentiful.

The crew's service attitude is very good. Due to the relatively large waves on the day of going to sea, many people are seasick and the crew is very attentive. Corals have no color, they die a lot, and there are sporadic colors.

Today, we did the Wavedancer Low Island tour and fulfilled a life-long dream of my parents to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. It was an amazing day on the boat and Low Island, with great weather, fantastic nature and a super-friendly crew. A special shout-out to our marine biologist Erica, for her great snorkelling and the bird walk on Low Island!

One of the best things you can do for yourself. We went to Barrier Reef where I scuba dived. Their trainers were quite professional and helpful. It was an experience of a lifetime. If you wanna snorkle or scuba dive, save it for this place!

Great day out. Buses pick you up from accommodation is Cairns and Port Douglas and take you up to the marina for check in. On the boat out to the pontoon you can book heaps of extra activities like scuba diving. The pontoon is on the outer reef which is good and they have lifeguards etc covering a large area for snorkeling. They provide stinger suits in jellyfish season. The snorkeling is good and the other activities were ok too. The morning/afternoon tea is just hot drinks and biscuits but the lunch is pretty good with salads and cold meats.

Port douglas's sea water is clear, visibility: crystal clear, 5/11/2019 The weather is also sunny, this time the quicksliver takes me to two dive sites, two sides of agincourt reefs, more fish and more coral, Zhonghao surprise See the little shark. Thank you very much for the quicksilver crew. They take care of everyone's safety and make a happy and enjoyable trip. Excellent

I visited Australia a few years ago and spent my last week in Port Douglas to get some rest after all the traveling and to go scuba diving on the Great Barrier. After some research we decided to book a few tours with Quicksilver: one day snorkeling at the Low Isles (with non-divers) and two daytrips to the outer reef to go scuba diving.
The first tour to the Low Isles started a bit dissapointing when we found out that the Wavedancer (a 30m sailing catamaran) was out for maintenance and we had to travel with a mass transportation Wavepiercing Catamaran. That was a bit of a let-down. We had a great day snorkeling the Low Isles anyway, but we stated a complaint at the desk after returning to Port Douglas. The manager completely understood the situation and gave us a refund on the diving-tours we booked for the coming days. He probably knew we Dutchies like refunds and discounts ;-)
The diving tours to the Agincourt reef were well organised. Three guided dives a day in small groups and a high quality lunch on board. You have to overcome the mass tourism atmosphere a bit, but Quicksilver transports MANY people a day and they handle the large group with many nationalities very well.
Unfortunately this place is far FAR from my house, but if I ever dive the Great Barrier again from Cairns or Port Douglas, I will book Quicksilver again.

Pretty pricey but also seems very popular and professionally run. I don't recommend the Ocean Walker - not worth the extra money for few minutes down in an uncomfortable helmet. It would be better to have more time to snorkel.

First time experience with snorkelling ever. I was very anxious about the swimming and unfortunately travel sickness did not make things better. The team of the Wave Dancer were so helpful to calm my nerves and attended to me as soon as they realised I was unwell.. a specific mention to both Auriah and Manz who both comforted me with my nerves and illness. It was such an incredible experience and I would do this again and again and AGAIN. I highly recommend going on board with WaveDancer Low Isles Cruise.

I liked it a lot. I just wished that as one of the largest operators that they'd be even more conscious of the reef and its sustainability - using shop-bought sun screen is not OK. Perhaps... they could invest in BIO degradable or reef friendly sunscreen for all.

Everything is dead nothing to really see. Food was ok but some staff are rude. Better off going on one of the smaller cruise operators that take you to different reefs as this on has had its day. Boat trip to and from the pontoon was good. Overall it s not worth what thy are asking for $$$ it s not worth anymore than $100 per adult. Would never go back even if they started charging $100 as there is nothing to see when you get there anyway apart from dead coral and a few bland colored fish

Excellent tour food OK , staff very friendly but get on boat quick as some people hog the seats in the air conditioned cabins , ie like leaving their bags on seats when they to go on deck for a hour or when returning get put their bags on earlier then go back to the pontoon.

Great cruise unfortunately disappointed in the snorkeling. The coral reef had no color or colorful fish. Basically nothing to see. I wouldn't have paid over $200 again to see nothing they should have told us. That's why I'm giving them 3 stars.

We went on the quicksilver supersonic boat and we had a bloody great day. Service was great, friendly staff, great facilities, boat perfect, lunch provided on point to load up that energy. We did two dives plus snorkel and it was all run perfectly. Glad we picked the smaller boat which went to three different sites in the outer reef. Great sites and scuba was great but equally in a different way the snorkel was just as good especially being so close to one of the reefs surrounded by an epic drop off. PS we spotted Nemo! Thanks team made for a great day that we would def recommend.

Nice trip. However you should realise this is really mass tourism. The reef itself was nice for snorkeling but I expected a bit more from great barrier reef. I think snorkelers with some experience are be terr of with a boat trip to multiple locations.

Great day... Just had to deal with people who thought they had dibs on tables... Was so funny.. I was with my sisters and while they were still getting their food I was wandering around looking for somewhere to seat us all... Well there was a lady sitting at a table for 6 with no others present and I asked her if she minded if I sat opposite.. she said ok so I sat.. but then my sisters came and sat beside me and the lady almost had kittens.. apparently the seats we sat on.. in her mind.. were reserved for her kids that were currently scuba diving.. for the next 30 minutes.. anyway we ate our lunch and moved on to the boat with a submersed hutch to experience the sea creatures.. so folks theres no dibs on tables and chairs.. read the signs everywhere... Be kind and share

The scuba dive instructors don't spend enough time...

The scuba dive instructors don't spend enough time with new divers who want to do the Discover Scuba Dive for the first time. If the newbies don't display the required proficiency in one or max two attempts, then they are disqualified (like it happened with my wife). I qualified and my scuba dive was only for 10-15 mins. This is not worth the $170 that I spent just for the dive. My experience with Andy's scuba diving in Phuket was much better.

Otherwise, the cruise is good. Great boat and facilities. The Agincourt Reef is beautiful but slowly dying. It wasn't as vibrant with different colours as I expected. I did see a couple of turtles though!

Snorkeling and underwater submersible experience was good. Thumbs up for this!

Food is not good for vegetarians. Taste is bland.

The overall experience was like fine dining - expensive and good only in small portions.

Very large and clean boat. It docks on a permanent pontoon. If the crew offers you anti sea sick pill and tells you its a little rough out there, buy the pill. A lot of people that did not, got sick. The poor crew have to clean after them.

The big letdown here is the catering! For the money you pay per head this is extremely poor. For example, "morning tea" is literally some biscuits in a bowl and afternoon tea is cheese and crackers in the corner. Nothing offered for those with dietary requirements -- what's that about?

Also WAY too many people on board. On our trip there were approx 400. This cheapens the experience and it ends up being a bun fight to get somewhere.

Great to see the reef but as others have said, you're best off doing the trip with a smaller company who can offer you a more personalised service. I would absolutely not go with these guys again. Cheers

The food was not that good. The service is very well organized.
The reef is not at his best. The should provide wet suits to all at this time of year as the water ate too cold. My son didn't do the introductory diving due to a failure on one of the skills, I would expect a refund in such cases.

The day starts with a smooth loading process, snacks on board all day, nice staff and sunshine. We absolutely loved the great barrier reef and snorkeling. So beautiful!! Lunch wasn't great, but it was included so we saved some mulala. We also enjoyed other activities such as the semi submersible tank, and the underwater glance at the fish. Such a nice day!

Amazing place to be, I was lucky for the sunny sky. Disappointed to some degree though. I'm not a well confident swimmer and for past couple of times that I did snorkeling, there was a floating tube ring that allowed me just slightly holding my hand to it to help keep me confident for deeper sections, but on this one there is no provision for this. The tour guide simply said she gets tired! I didn't enjoy as I should unfortunately. Special thanks to the lovely crew who prepared food and services in the background!

Incredible experience! My favourite day since landing in Cairns.
Staff are so friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. And there is plenty to do and see out there.
Lunch is served almost straight away and is a mix of yummy cold salads, cold prawns, buns and 2 hot dishes. -so good!
The semi submersible boat tour while out at the pontoon was awesome... seen 5 turtles and some beautiful coral.
We managed to get onto the helicopter flight which was just stunning views over the reef area and is well worth the money.
We must have snorkled for just over an hour out further than most, where you are quite shallow and can see so many varieties of fish, coral and clam things.
I got some really great underwater photos from the camera I hired from them.
I was wiped out on my way back... and so many people were sleeping, it definitely is long enough.
Absolutely loved it! Thanks heaps x

We had a great time! Booked early on through Flight Centre.
Our experience was very satisfying in that the food was tasty and plentiful, the staff were entertaining but sometimes needed to be provoked into talking. Semi-submersible was a great way to see the reef without getting wet. Snorkelling was well attended by patrons and well monitored by staff.
Ride out was rough due to high winds, however, QuickSilver could not be blamed for this & actually added to the experience.
If we were to point out any issues: seating during time on pontoon was very limited for eating and/or relaxing. People leave their belongings on the tables, perhaps some lockers or similarly would eliminate this issue.
All in all we had a great time!!
