Penn Dutch Meats Review

Meat was still sitting on the shelf with a sell by date of 4/20/17. Today is 4/20/17 so when I asked the manager to mark it down he said meat doesn't get marked down until after the sell by date passes. This leads me to believe that they don't sell people the freshest of meats. Very unconcerned employees. Beware of what you purchase here.

Looks as though my concerns were correct. They were on channel 10s dirty dining segment where it was proven they did not have the healthiest of standards. STAY FAR AWAY. they will sell rotten meat

The worst customer service. I practically had to beg someone to help me at the seafood counter, long lines at register on Saturday with only 2 cashiers and mine decided to t are a break and just st and there eating a candy bar an when leaving and walking to my car a couple of employees sitting outside on the picnic tables being very loud and obnoxious. I don't think I'll ever go back plus they were out of almost all there advertised specials , very disappointed with my first & last visit.

I've been shopping here since it opened and always eat happy when I get home. There's a WIDE selection of delicious in-house made smoked meats, deli, hot to-go, produce, cheeses & the BEST cheesecake, seafood (get the Royal Red shrimp - you'll thank me), WINE with someone there to help (everyone knows their department & is eager to give advice). And they are a custom-cutting butcher too! Just go there!

Love that I am able to spend $100 and have enough quality meat and lunch meat for almost a month

went to the margate location and was blown away by the selection, service and most of all price!!!

no electric HANDYCAP carts at this store the man at the entrance said proudly we got rid of them a year ago. See Ya!

The service is nice and their prices are good however, the store needs to be updated and cleaned.

Loved their old french bread their new one is bigger but sucks different recipe..go back to the original was better than anyones..

Great sales today loaded up on rib eye, chicken and ribs.

We drive three hours, round trip, to stock up on great meats at half the price of grocers. Yesterday 16 filet mignon steaks, eye round roast beef, couple pounds jumbo shrimp, 6 lobster tails, couple nice lean ham steaks, for starters, and the bill was around $200 bucks. Shopping here 40 years. Oh, stocked up on brautwurst. Wow!

Everything is so easy to find and relatively cheap. They have weekly specials on good choices of meat. You can also subscribe to their email list and get $5 off $50 at their coupon print kiosk. You'll be spending a lot more than $50 after you turn the first coupla aisles!

Nice alternative to the more common grocery stores, has a big variety of brands and foods, prices are very competitive

A Wonderful Market! ALMOST like being in Europe.....

Not happy with my most recent visit. Supposedly the manager will call me. I won't hold my breath waiting since Sunday. Sure - he'll call me, on the 10th - the 10th of never. Ok - so I get this wonderful e-mail last Thursday or Friday that Lobsters are $6 a piece. It made no mention of "while supplies last". One of the managers said they always put that in their ad but forgot this time. Since I knew I would be busy Friday and Saturday I figured I would get my Lobsters on Sunday. So last Sunday I visited Penn Dutch in Margate and they turned me down for the Lobsters that I was planning to cook for my family on Sunday. Wow - you would think that a manager would have the authority to make things right. It's a matter of principle. Weekend sale and here I am - It's still the weekend. I shop Penn Dutch and they usually have decent deals and fresh produce and Seafood. This urked me. They could have honored the deal since they clearly admitted that it was an oversight and never clear when this "Weekend Sale" would end. Step up to the plate and make things right. They could have sold me the Live Maine Lobsters in the tank in front of me and honored the sale price. Their a big organization and certainly could have afforded it. Very disappointed.

The Penn Dutch Margate location is my go to store for my meat/fish needs. The staff always go the extra step to ensure I am well taken care of...2 thumbs up!!!!

That place needs to be renovated. It's way too old .

Am there every week since it has opened. Always helpful. Meat and chicken awesome prices and fresh. Will cut anything any for free. Excellent produce. Go Sunday morning, no one is there, after, it's a zoo. So worth it.

Service is unmatched quality of price I love it if I can find a place cheaper than them I would but you going to try to get 20 pounds of chicken at a dollar 29 in Publix or in Winn-Dixie or Walmart and you tell me if you could beat Penn Dutch I would go there the rest of my days till I'm dead in the ground and my pastor even agrees he's never been and today later believer

Quality isn't the best but pricing is great, excellent bakery!

I love this store for their meat but everything else that s a little expensive in their bakery used to be great for the last several times I have gotten cakes that were expired and spoiled but their meats are fantastic

I've shop regularly at the Margate Center. In fact, I've been shopping at Penn Dutch since long before the Margate Center ever existed. I remember one of my very first shopping trips to the original Penn Dutch store was for beautifully trimmed skirt steak for $2.88 per pound. I was delighted to see two days ago that an additional center is coming soon to the Lauderhill area. I'm even more delighted to say that the Margate Center was well supplied with produce, deli meats & cheeses, meats, and seafood before either Walmart or Target following Hurricane Irma. The only negative comment I have regarding Penn Dutch is that they gave up their electric shopping carts for their disabled/handicapped customers and replaced them with a manual chair style cart which can only be operated by another person from behind the disabled customer. That means that I and many others can no longer shop at Penn Dutch alone. Being disabled/handicapped is difficult enough without having the food store where I spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars each year tell me their disabled customers are not important enough for them to provide electric carts which permit us to shop unaided. Now I can only shop at Penn Dutch when my son is available to take me.
