Great racecourse. Small enough so everything is nice and close together like the parade ring etc. Loads of parking and plenty of bookies to choose from. Well kept public areas and decent choice of food and drink. Loads of great viewing positions between the stands and the finish line. Good events on too (fireworks in November were spectacular).

All in all we had a nice time until the security started getting aggressive
Be warned the entrance price does not entitle you to ride the horses . Apparently that's not what your supposed to do.
Anyway after that confusion was sorted out we had a nice time. I met a lively gentleman who asked if I wanted to see his special tip, unfortunately there was a long que for the toilets where I was supposed to meet him so I never actually got my hands on his tip. The ladies race was well worth a flutter . And there are some lovely people up in the VIP area who kindly provide cooling water for the peasants below

Great in Parts.

Great in Parts.

We went for an evening meeting that included Dinner, 7 Races and UB40.

I called ahead as we had a mobility issue and my companion could not walk far. It was very disappointing to find so little provision for disabled access especially as the car park was quite soggy and muddy.

The food was very good and we had an excellent selection and good quality. Serving staff members were efficient and friendly. Sadly it was rather too tightly laid out. Again this raised difficulties for using the Walker.

Racing was enjoyable and we enjoyed UB40.

It seems wrong to me to limit disabled access while allowing owners, trainers and others to drive up to the Hospitality Suite. A potential 4 or even 5 star review downgraded as a result. I will be writing to the Racecourse.

A keen lifelong horse woman, Muriel got chatting to one of the trainers who offered her a couple of races he wants her to take part in. She's very excited as he's going to drop his jockeys and enter her in Newmarket.

Visited 12/1 to take my Mum for covid vaccine. Very organised, marshall's etc very helpful. The only issue we weren't told you couldn't access from Gosforth side so had to drive around. Not their fault but may help others!

Beautiful and friendly staff. The place is very nice and clean. Food is really good and it is also a very good place to held an event like reunion of friends or christmas party. It is also a nice place to bet and gamble and an unforgettable experience on witnessing a horse race. Wine is also good and a lot of choices too. Will be back there soon.

The race course hosted a Gin festival. The event was very organised with the appropriate staff and security. The Gin was great, but just a little pricey - which was made up by the free gin samples and the excellent entertainment. The food served was mediocre. Overall a good experience.

Great wee racecourse where we had an enjoyable day at very reasonable prices. Not York or Ascot but the prices reflect that! Facilities like toilets were more than adequate for the size of the course. Recommended!

Tip top all weather course. Close to rail, bus and plane links. Lots of weekly events. Don't miss Ladies Day, Northumberland plate, Fighting fifth and other big meets. Lots of bars and food outlets.

Attended Plate day. We had booked the premiere enclosure with a two course meal included in the price at the The Grand hotel. Couldn't fault the meal, the food and the service was very good. However after a long walk to the premiere enclosure we found there were no seats at all and no hope of getting one. There were thousands of people and less than a hundred tables. The first race wasn't until 1.50. God knows what time those people arrived to get a seat. The three of us stood on the grass in our finery waiting for our men folk getting a drink. They got back 40 minutes later!!! The queue was under a plastic roof (not the best in that heat). One of them stood in a different queue for 25 minutes and when he got to the front was told they'd run out of gas and the drink his wife wanted. This went on for the rest of the day. Between queueing for drinks bets and toilets they didn't see a single race. Come on Newcastle Races you must have known how many people were going to be there and could have had extra staff. You should also either point out on the tickets that you recommend people bring something to sit on or even better provide more seats. We paid a lot of money for premiere enclosure but ended up in front of the winners circle far away from the track so we could sit on the stone steps (there was just enough room left for 3). 9 hours is a hell of a long time to stand.
