Relatively small which is great with little ones, still plenty to see. If you couple your stay with a visit to one of the other merlin attractions such as the lego around the corner there's some really good deals to be had on tickets.

That's a beautiful place to hangout with kids. My son loved the penguins. Nicely managed aquarium and the best part is - the south Park is just 2 minutes walk from the aquarium. But would suggest to have a cafe as well for the parents and kids to eat and enjoy.

Really nice place, clean and tidy. Animals all looked well cared for and the kids loved it! Only downside and for me it's a big one unfortunately is we went on a Friday morning at 10.30 and it was full of school children. Large groups that filled every area so you found yourself rushing through to get away from them. It would have been nice to have known when booking.

Like a tardis, small on the outside and deceptively big inside. The penguins are fabulous start of the experience with great viewing spaces. Use the loo at the start as no loos further up the route. Loads to see with some excellent talks throughout the day. 4D cinema adds to the experience. Downsides, no cafe, limited toilets and a bit squashed when busy. Book online for best value. Good wet day out for all the family.

It's good when quiet. Horrible when busy. You'd never go without a 2for1, as the prices are clearly inflated to cover it (like Warwick Castle). Penguin enclosure and tunnel are the best bits. Spend about an 1-2 hrs here I'd suggest.

Very crowded and expensive for what it is. there are some good exhibits such as the 360 tunnel, however most are fairly average. The centre isn't very big so don't expect this attraction to last much more than an hour or two at most.

Great for a few hours lots to see the penguins are a child's favourite always performing. You can pre book or pay on the day, the best time to go is early morning as it's gets very busy in the afternoon.
Parking is next door in Birmingham arena car park which is a 2 minute walk away over the canal. Thoroughly recommend, keep an eye out for money off vouchers to make it cheaper as the snacks inside are expensive

Great place to visit with ideal parking facilities nearby (watch out for Sheepcote Road bus lane fine trap!!). Plenty of pubs and restaurants near by. Well designed tour as you walk through to each section in a virtual ascend. We enjoyed our trip out. Price is alright, could be cheaper perhaps but I imagine it costs a lot to maintain.

I would say this is one of the best sealife centres I have visited. It was very busy on my trip with lots of school children. The best part by far is the 360 degree sea tunnel featuring reef sharks, rays & giant sea turtle. I had a two for one ticket offer via the train which totally made it worth a day trip. Nearby lots of restaurants on the canal to sit with varous meal deals. Bull ring also close by.

Easy to get round with a pushchair. Lots to see and interesting for little ones too (took our 6 month old who was fascinated!) Tunnel was highlight and we decided not to do the cinema bits so was quieter once past there. Lots of places to eat and drink outside but nothing inside.

Really enjoyable trip for the whole family, my 2 year old couldn't get around the place fast enough! He loved the Penguins and the jellyfish especially, and went home shouting FISH FISH FISH all the way, sign of a good time!

The day was spoiled for me as the photos taken had my son half cropped out. It was a digital download that came 'free' when you buy the ranger packs. Got home viewed them. Complained via email. Fobbed off then totally ignored. NOT good enough sea life centre.

We visited the Sea Life Centre after visiting the Lego Centre, we were not sure if after visiting the Lego Centre our daughter would be as excited to go the the S.L.C but she was..

She loved to see all the fish and other underwater creatures. She especially loved the under water tunnel where she could see the rays, sharks and other fish swimming about above, to the side and below us!

She loved to see the penguins and they appeared to be racing each other from one end of the aquarium and back.

It is well worth a visit and if your going to the Lego Centre then you can get discounts for buying tickets to both.

We left through the gift shop and we bought a few toy clown fish, after all Finding Nemo is one of her favourite films!

We had a free return pass as they were completing work when we came in March. Much better now the whole centre has reopened, though as expected due to the school holidays it was very busy, hot and slightly stressful with a buggy and toddlers in tow! As always the highlights were the penguins and the amazing tunnel with beautiful sea turtles which we didn't manage to spot last time!

.
Our only dislike was the amount of school trips that were visiting in one go...made the place very overcrowded and the schools seemed to get priority at the viewing and talking stations over everyone else and some of the children were unruly! Maybe restrict the amount of school visits you have at any one time so other customers get a chance would be a good idea

Great place with lots to see. But could have a better system in place for busy periods. At many times you simply could not move due to the sheer volume of pushchairs. We were stuck in a tiny room crammed full to get through the underwater tunnel for nearly 15mins. This would not have been the case if people were not blocking the whole tunnel with pushchairs. When we finally managed to get people to move them so we could get through we counted 15 buggys in the tunnel alone!? Why are there not staff monitoring the flow?

I went for the second time fairly recently. To be honest it's both not what I remember and exactly as I remember at the same time. Not much has changed over the years as far as I could tell. It's fairly good for kids but it's by no means a day out. Do your self a favour and book online and show the ticket on your phone for a decent discount on the entrance price.

Brilliant attraction, located close to the center of Birmingham. There is a multistorey carpark close to the facilities. If traveling by car, I would advice planning the route before setting off. Also best to buy the tickets online 24 hours before visiting as it is much cheaper. They offer student and NHS discount, family and wheelchair friendly. There is no restaurant at the facilities but local shops near by.

It's great for young kids but a bit lacklustre for adults. There are some good exhibits but there isn't very much for what you pay unless you get a good deal on your tickets. Good location for if you want to get food before or after, however.

Overall it was a fairly good experience, if a bit underwhelming. The tunnel was a lot of fun and there are some beautiful animals. We went during a very busy time so it felt very small, and we couldn't get a good look at everything because of the number of people, however this was more bad planning on our part than the fault of the centre. I did however pay a lot to get in and it felt like I saw the same few fish over and over. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it for people with young children, just try and go off peak time.

Very crowded at the weekends and don't take a pushchair if you can help it as the paths are tiny and you will be pushed along without seeing anything. Some great pieces here with the 4d cinema and various reefs etc. Just a bit too commercial and too busy to really enjoy.

Loved the penguins and the seals. Very chilled out atmosphere. Shame there's no cafe or seating area but there are plenty of places around Brindley Place. The 4d cinema is aimed at very young children. So if you have older kids or none at all then you're not missing much if you decide to bypass this.

The penguins and seals had such a small enclosure when considering they stay in there all their lives and they weave around looking bored. Barley any stimulation for them either. Most of the species there hold a least concern conservation status which doesn't prove to have much of an educational reason for keeping them there.

I have never been to a sealife place before, so it was a great experience to see all the underwater life up close! there was a small indoor play area for kids which was very good because for younger kids just walking around the aquarium was not enough energy consumption.
the downside was that the place looked run down, as if it was getting more influx than it was maintained for probably? the toilet was very stinky but apparently clean.

The Sea Life Centre is a lovely place to visit. It is very educational for both kids and adults it also gives the chance to learn about the beautiful sea creatures. I enjoyed my visit to the centre and my kids enjoyed the time spent in the centre too.

Aquarium is adequate for being in centre of Birmingham. Big downside is how crowded they allow it to get. What's the point of choosing an hour to visit when they seem to let everyone in anyhow. "Backstage tour" while full of info is not intended for children as they may have you believe. Not to mention that "backstage" is one room. One that can get crowded really easily and not apt for claistrophobics. Currently they are renovating some of the aquarium and a lot of areas which might have been intended for my 2 year old were closed off. So, my little one struggled to find her adventure an adventure at all. With all that being said, NSLC is allowing current visitors to come back after work is done for free.

I was concerned about the animals there having such small living spaces which I can't stand, I hope there is much more room that we're not being shown. I do like that that some of the animals were rescued and some of them were from human abuse. I also liked the information on different animals and the money they get goes to rescuing more animals. The gift shop also has a lot of fun and cute items.

A good day out. It's a bit like being on a conveyor belt when it's busy and not great for pushchairs as it's on several levels. The exhibitions are great but money is better spent on somewhere like Blue Planet or The Deep.
