Excellent variety. Plenty to see. Great access to all the tanks. Underwater tunnel very good. Only negatives were no otters and 4D cinema could be better organised by doing allocated viewing as not big so pot luck if you got in.

A huge selection of sea creatures both big and small. There's creatures as small as seahorses and clown fish like Nemo that starred in the hit Disney Pixar movie Finding Nemo. There's also creatures as large as sharks like the one that starred in Jaws, octopus, turtles like the ones that starred in A Turtle's Tale and stingray like the ones that starred in the 1978 action comedy movie Stingray.
Conviniently located in Brindley Place, on Birmingham's canal network and close to the main Broad Street.

Tip: look out for the penguins close to the entrance and exit, they might even pose for a photo!

What a brilliant venue for munchkins and adults. Modern and very well designed, they have crammed a huge amount of exhibits into the space. Staff were upbeat and knowledgeable. The Behind the Scenes Tour is excellent. One of the best aquariums for conservation work in the UK. Just missing a small cafe ? Otherwise perfect.

The National sea life center is great for all ages. The 4 D cinema was wonderful and the ocean tunnel is so good having sharks and turles swimming over your head. The staff are really good and helpful. The best thing to do is buy your tickets online before you go as the tickets will be cheaper as you have booked ahead. Always best to go mid week as always very busy weekends. There is a souvenir shop where you can get a little reminder of your day.

Javier could learn a lesson or two from the Ladies in the Gift shop were lovely, friendly and helpful.

No social distancing measures feels unsafe compared to Alton towers and Lego Land. Over crowding at every point. Lifts packed full of people, no one advising people how to wear masks. Felt unsafe and I would not recommend going here whilst Covid is a prominent feature of our lives.

Wonderful day out regardless of age, there is an opportunity to take a family photo half way through and all the animals look to be in wonderful condition and are very active, especially the penguins and sea otters that were swimming around quite fast. We even saw the penguins being fed! Unfortunately we didn't get to experience the 4D display but that had to be closed understandably due to Covid-19. Precautions were taken with hand sanitiser available at mutliple intervals and temperature checking at the door. Overall I would highly recommend.

Very nice place, plenty to see and very entertaining for the kids. Staff are very helpful and polite, more than happy to share information about the animals and the place. You can get a nice surprise after the visit too, if you book online in advance. 10/10

I did have a great day, and so did my toddler, however, they're having a fair amount of renovations done at the moment which I wasn't aware of before booking. It wouldn't have stopped me going, but it meant some of the things weren't as easily accessible, such as the jellyfish etc. They were only really visible as you were in the queue to the 4d film, but I didn't take my son there as he'd be afraid of it, so we didn't get to see any of them as it was too busy. Of course, it's fair to say that I chose to go at a peak time on a weekend, which is agreeable, but it's now just made it a bit more crammed. But renovations need to be done, hopefully next time we go, it'll be better.
We also didn't see the turtles. And they're not exactly small and we spent over 20 minutes in the tunnel, so maybe they're out for breeding or they were just both amazingly good at hiding

Great.

Great.
The back of the scenes part is the best part of my visit.
Earlier arrival is recommended. I entered just on time for my booked time and didn't spend enough time with the first part

Some bits good, others need updating. The kids trails seem a bit of an afterthought and shoved in a corner by the toilets. Cinema wasn't working the day we went but they gave free return tickets in compensation. Needs a cafe

The place itself is really nice but people bringing small children(age 0-5yo) ruins the whole thing as they bump into you with their strollers, the children shout and cry. I would recommend going on a random tuesday for the best experience and don't try to be a professional parent just so you can tell your co-workers that you took your 3month old child to see a turtle.

Took my little nephew for walk-about around Birmingham & ended up here. Beware, it can get very busy when it's holiday time. If possible get you tickets online, No standing in queues. It's a great place for small or bigger children & adults. Great sea life, with plenty of facts along the way. Jellyfish were our favourite, could of watched them for hours. There is a shop at the end to buy all those cuddly animals. (p.s. Take plenty of money... it ain't cheap.)

Good place to spend an hour, I purchased my tickets through Tesco Clubcard. There are works being done inside the building and the 4d/2d cinema wasn't fully working but on the whole. It was a pleasant visit.

I went to Sea Life with my son not long ago. We paid online for tickets, came in on time and there was not too many people. We had free time and could take as long as we wanted which was brilliant. My son is in love with this place we are coming back for sure to visit all animals again. Amazing place for children to show them how beautiful sea creatures are. My son start to study all about them so Sea Life made a new hobby which I'm happy about.

Not worth the entry fee , was done walking round in less than ten minutes penguins looked upset and enclosure was definatly not big enough for the amount they had , also had ray pool were you can't even touch the rays advertised having turtles and oters that were nowhere to be seen if your planning on educating your child about marine life and how to help animals I would definatly not recommend sea life centre

Came to Birmingham just for the Aquarium as online it says it closes at 6pm weekdays. Got to the Aquarium to find out it closes at 4 for some reason and that last entry is at 3pm and we arrived 3:15pm. Completely misleading closing times at the actu aquarium and online and ruined our trip entirely. Update your online timing and / or the timings presented at the aquarium itself. Do you close at 6 or do you close at 4. It's one or the other.

Brilliant place, visited a few times in the past. Lots of different tanks and animals to see and touch. Can get mega busy!! Staff do their best to stagger entrance times. The pathway round can be narrow in places, so pushchairs can be a More

So far been to 3 of the sea life centres and Birmingham is the best we've been!!
Our twins love it, specially the penguins, they're their favourite!
there is so much for them to see, and everytime they discover something new.
Thinking seriously in the getting the annual pass for us.

We went the 9th of July for my son's 2nd birthday and as we all know, toddlers get bored/tired very quick. Not a chance here! It is fab! So many different types of fish, penguins, secrets passage ways for little ones, activities and a 4D cinema! We were there for 3hrs and it went so quick, i would highly recommend it to everyone. Some might say a bit expensive but you can get the 2 for 1 in cereal boxes or discounts in certain websites. We will definitely go back soon!

Great day out at the Sea Life Centre. Lots to see here from small to large sea creatures. Penguins were a great sight to see. Can't really complain at the price as take roughly 2 hours to go through the whole centre

Loved the penguins
Gift shop was a bit pricey
And car park expensive
Only 2 things that let the whole experience down

Queing system could do with speeding up especially when you are standing outside in the rain and wind.maybe a shelter overhead would help. Even when you book on line ahead of your visit you don't expect to que for so long. Having said that all the staff are very friendly and helpful but then it's not them that make the decisions on how it's run . So well done to them

Very busy but probably due to it being half term, due to this was hard to see too much. Only really went because of getting cheap entry with the Lego discovery ticket. Probably wouldn't go again.

Not bad but not great either. It kind of feels like a big pet shop. Most of the fish are rather small except for one shark and one tortoise. If you're lucky you can touch a starfish in a bucket. I'm glad I went to check it out but I didn't enjoy it enough to go back.

An absolutely marvelous place to visit and well worth a family outing but Just a shame we didn't get to see the Jellyfish because of the queueing for the cinema as that's where they're located but other than that had a good day.

It's ok, it's good to go first thing as it was quiet and we were first in, but you have to take your time to be able to see all the animals. You can get to the end quite quick, even with walking round with a toddler. If you go the the attractions in between it would take longer. Nice animals to look at, but not mind blowing.

I spent an amazing time here. Everyone will love it from kids to elder people. Very friendly staff, there is a close parking nearby. Spent about 3 hours here and it worth every penny. At the time when I been here there was not very crowded (around mid day) but sometimes is pretty busy.I will definitely go again in the future.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon which was a mistake in itself. The place is over run by children (which is obviously expected) and adults with pushchairs. It would be a massive improvement to have some sort of buggy storage as trying to navigate through soo many was disorientating. Anyway, it's a brilliant sea life centre with amazing animals and very factual. We very much enjoyed the experience.
