Amazing place to spend an afternoon. Well worth the time and effort to see.
Amazing place to spend an afternoon. Well worth the time and effort to see.
Seeing it in person is surreal. It's a place you just have to go to before you die. I got to mt Rushmore before sunrise which ended up being a extra treat to see. The colors of the faces change as the sun comes up. Get in your car and just go see for yourself
Easy access, great parking and easy walking for those with disabilities. We asked if there was a Veterans' discount and were told 'No' because there is no entrance fee for anyone, just a fee for parking....nice scam. Crazy Horse Memorial honors Veterans with a complimentary entrance including parking.
Parking pass is valid for 24 hour and allows multiple entries if you want to visit and see the monument during the day and night as well. There is enough parking but the location is generally very busy during peak season. There is a very well defined trail around the memorial which gives you an opportunity to see the monument from different angles and has good photographic points throughout the trail.
The trail is easy to moderate but everything is paved.
A surreal experience. Surrounding restaurants are a must. Love the ol cowboy feel here. So much history.
great experience. my family is so happy so am I. please visit this place. you won't regret it.
To be perfectly honest, it was smaller than I would've imagined. But regardless, it was definitely worth the drive from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and I will be going back when/if I can!
I would love to visit here, randomly showing up on my location visit...
Absolutely beautiful. We were driving through on our way cross country. It was after dark when we arrived and we feared it would be closed. It was not. It was amazing. I recommend the experience to anyone and everyone who has the chance. You will be forever grateful you did.
Great as expected unfortunately there was construction:(
Mt. Rushmore celebrates some of the leaders who embodied our values of freedom, liberty and American potential. Loved seeing so many patriotic people and families learning about the America's history and how others helped create this country and its freedoms.
Was surprised at how busy it was. Everything was easy to get to. The best is to take the walk and get as close as you can because the normal distance is pretty far.
Breathtaking. Even met guy that worked on it... Much respect to a TRUE AMERICAN
It's really good place to view the hill rock turned to the sculptures of great presidents of The United States.
We paid 10$ for car parking, this price is for full year.
We had both night view and day time view also.
On the way to mount rushmore we visited a place called Bad Lands ( a must visit place).
And there is a big historic shop called WALL DRUG STORE it is really a very good shop with numerous arts and everything, a very big list of things .
As a family we went in 1997 during all the theater construction and it was so inspiring. If you want to try and get the most benefit, watch the PBS series on Mt Rushmore and you will appreciate this great accomplishment.
More to do than we expected. Check out the museum, walk the nature trails, and take in the views of the memorial from all angles.
30 year anniversary trip. Awesome monument. What a treat!
Amazing...unfortunately the main viewing area was under construction .
It was excellent. The detail is mind blowing. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable.
Mount Rushmore is just plain awesome, but you already knew that. Our stop on the gift shop gave us a great surprise, as we got to meet one of the original drillers. Don't miss stopping in!
Parking is complicated. Be sure you validate your parking slip before you leave the plaza.
Worth seeing this . Good for 2 to 3 hours. It s free as well and you just pay for parking . The head of each president is like 60feet (as tall as a 5 story building).
I had a great time with my family. There are a bunch of different things to look at.
What can u say? It's a national monument, very pretty and I think everyone should see it once in their life. Fees to park, yes. Some gift shops, clean restrooms, water bottle filling station's, not a far walk from parking lot. I'm glad we went there, Crazy Horse is near by. Fees for that too, $20 or more, Badlands park $20, Custer park $10, it adds up.. Carry cash.
Finally got to check off one of my life's bucket list item. It was quite outstanding to see.
Very well maintained, but always, always very crowded. That being said, this should be a must go for all families, in my opinion. Be sure to stop by the various buildings to learn about the building of the monument, it is impressive!
Only 1/2 the trails are open and they are renovating the amphitheater
What else can you say? Big faces, hiking trails, lots of history to learn and then forget until next time you visit. My kids liked going (ages 4,7,10), and we'll go again. Gets crowded during the summer, but only feels crowded in the gift shops. They move you through the register faster than walmart, though.
Mount Rushmore it worth the visit! It is spectacular. It isn't just about those presidents. It's about America and democracy and what our country stands for. It is a very remarkable sculpture. The whole thing was hand carved by a large group of men with Jack hammers, dynamite, hammers and chiseles all at the direction of the artist Gutzon Borglum!
Enjoyed this Amazing view on my 30th birthday. Unforgettable experience. You have to see it to believe it
Beautiful! Don't miss the nightly lighting ceremony
Amazing it is gigantic! Was on my bucket list I can check it off now.
When you go make sure you take the trail it gets you closer to the monument.
Mount Rushmore National Park grew up only 9 miles down the road from it. Beautiful place! Keystone has lots tourist places! Lots of historical sites to see!
10 years after our first visit we stopped at Rushmore with our 3 & 6 year old boys on a road trip to Grandma's. Always a nice place to visit. If you are on I90 and see blue skies it's worth a quick stop (total visit/detour was 90 minutes. New parking structure is really nice...easy in and out...cost is $11.00 for a car.
Absolutely incredible..then go to Crazy horse monument 30 miles away, you wont be sorry. Bring tissues!!
Very disappointing, construction going on so you can't get up close. Also no informative videos of the history and how it was constructed.
One of my favorite places. Got there for opening day couple yrs back and it was amazing.
Mount Rushmore go to it ! Quill not be a big mistake to take but it will be one if you did not go to it. It is so beautiful to see at night and presidents on the mountain will be lite up at nite.
This is one of the neatest monuments in our country. Make sure to explore all the different spots. Also, make sure to walk the board walk up closer. The night show is beautiful. Just be careful as some of the roads around it can be steep...looking at you Iron Mountain Road!
Mt. Rushmore is an incredible sculpture not only showing important presidents throughout our history but our itwentieth century ingenuity and resourcefulness for creating.
Very nice place and the night show was well done and I loved how they honored those who serve in the military
Always thought provoking. Check out related exhibits and museums in the area. Worthwhile trip and the surrounding area is beautiful.
A site to see! A piece of history to put on your bucket list. Fun gift shops. Something for everyone.
Amazing place ! Such a sense of patriotism! Con: bring your snacks, high food prices
If you're in the area give and see it, but tbh I wouldn't go out of my way for it. It's what you would expect, although they did have thomas Jefferson's original recipie for vanilla ice cream with indian berries syrup that was AMAZING.
Incredibly sobering memorial. The night lighting ceremony is incredible, and the on site museum is very nice.
It was awesome! Great museum and fun to take pictures!
Mount Rushmore was very neat and well-maintained despite visiting in the off season. The entrance fee was reasonable and is good for the rest of the calendar year! The little restaurant was delicious and even had dessert! The ranger was super kind and informative and the museum provided excellent information. It was a pleasant visit and great photo opportunity!
Decidedly underwhelming. Though I am glad to have gone to see it.
The monument itself is amazing but fortunately it began to rain and we sought shelter in the museum. The museum told the story of the construction and stories of those who contributed to its creation. We enjoyed the museum almost as much as the splendor of the monument.
God bless America, one of the most breathtaking sights to see do not pass it up.
