There is so much history that a visit is too short to appreciate everything. From the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius, back to the sixth century BC artifacts. and then on to Caravaggio. In the middle also a Rubens and the Capitoline she-wolf that is perhaps a beautiful medieval fake.

SPECTACULAR is the third time that I go and each time it is a great emotion this time made even greater by the exhibition of a private foundation with paintings by Caravaggio and other illustrious painters. If you are a Roman I recommend the mic card to be done directly at the museum and valid for all museums in the municipality. PS excellent organization for the covid and friendly but attentive staff

Not to be missed! We were on Sunday evening, where there was also a beautiful concert. Lots of works that I didn't really believe were all kept in one museum. When you pass through Rome, you must visit it.

Visited far and wide, like the Vatican museums for magnificence.
To see every corner.
The fantastic thing is that turning and passing through the basement you find yourself on the other side of the square, in the other building.
FOR ROME RESIDENTS: Free for Rome residents on the first Sunday of the month.
CLOTHING: You walk a lot, wear clothes and especially comfortable shoes.

Do not miss.

Do not miss.
The organization to nibble or sip a drink in the cafeteria is nonexistent but you are in Italy in Rome and all this happens with a smile and in a good mood.
Once the batteries are charged, Italian art is yours and you spend hours too short.

Given that I saw it in this week of August 2020, the covid year, the museum was almost empty. After the euphoria of the morning in which all the tourists seem to throw themselves into the attractions in search of a ticket (from 14 there was no longer a queue at the ticket office), they all disappeared to see Caravaggio (included in the ticket) and then ran to the restaurant . The fact is that from 3 pm the museum was empty. Desert. The rooms were all for us. It passes from one building to another by an underground passage to Michelangelo's square. View on the imperial forums. To be seen. I bought the Capitoline Museums + Montemartini Central ticket. 17.00. Perfect

A modern museum with an extensive collection of statues and exhibits related to Rome. Marcus Aurelius was the highlight for me. Oh, one odditiy is that the museum is split into two buildings separated by the plazza. I also found the admission price a bit more than I expected (15 Euros) but I felt my time in the museum was well spent.

2500 years of history, not exactly tidy, which do not leave you indifferent. Among paintings, vases, mosaics, frescoes, rooms and foundations, there is almost no need for the object to be displayed, just show the rooms that the ancient Romans left us.
Once Rome was really big, here you can imagine it a little.

Speaking of the ancient part only, the selection and the last exhibition highlight even more the absurd value of the statues, all in a fantastic setting (just look out at random windows).
The area with the foundations of the temple of Jupiter Capitoline projects into a vanished world that no one can even imagine.
Only note I hope that the epigraphic section with the inscriptions on the tombstones and more, is evaluated in a better way in the future.

I took advantage of the free Sunday for residents in Rome. In addition to the wealth of works of art, you can appreciate fantastic views from both the Caffarelli terrace and the Tabularium ...

Capitoline Museums are very interesting. Paradoxically you will see a lot of Greek sculptures.
On site, there is a cafeteria.
But you can go nibble in the surroundings and enjoy this very nice neighborhood.

Beautiful rooms, overlooking the holes offers a fantastic panorama. In this period of Covid, the entrances are well limited, so there are no crowds inside. In addition, the paths to follow are well indicated and make the visit, already pleasant in itself, even simple.

Very beautifull!

Very beautifull!
We were a morning of rain, and Thanks to Mic we entered quickly.
We downloaded the official guide from the Google Store and installed it on the phone (we used two of our headphones), and it exists in many languages. It costs 5 and works great, especially fun Augmented Reality to interact with the works. Also there is the possibility to choose the most suitable route to the time available, because to visit it all takes a whole day.
Then the view on the Fori, unique to be enchanted!
Really Really Nice !!! Recommended!!!

A very large and quite confusing museum site which consists of many buildings. It is quite uncomfortable to visit in hot weather. However, I was surprised at the variety and excellence of the exhibits. Opened to the public in 1734 under Clement XII, the Capitoline Museums are considered to be the first museum in the world.

The Capitoline Museums are composed of three main buildings surrounding the Piazza del Campidoglio and interlinked by an underground gallery beneath the piazza.

The three main buildings of the Capitoline Museums are:
Palazzo Senatorio, built in the 12th century and modified according to Michelangelo's designs;
Palazzo dei Conservatori, built in the mid-16th century and redesigned by Michelangelo with the first use of the giant order column design; and
Palazzo Nuovo, built in the 17th century with an identical exterior design to the Palazzo dei Conservatori, which it faces across the palazzo.

There really is a vast amount to see and is well worth a visit.

Essential works! Take the video guide! Otherwise you will miss a lot ... Why not 5 stars? For my grandparents uncomfortable with technology, the digital plan was difficult to grasp ... In addition to the panels indicating the direction of the route according to the one chosen is essential in my opinion ... Yes, we missed numbers !

The Capitoline Museum is a bit in the shadow of the Vatican Museum. Even if it doesn't match him
the number of exhibits, it is matched by the quality of the collection.

and other sculptures. There are also a number of images, such as the Sybili image with a pen,
or a picture of a young girl.
