Montgomery Inn Boathouse Review

First time eating here was last October for my hubby bday then 2nd time for my bday last December! Favorite place for a pulled pork sandwich!

Service was excellent. Food wasn't as good as I remember.

Worst food I've every had, you could go to any other BBQ place and get the same food at half the price and it will be 10x better

The food, atmosphere and service was simply outstanding! A special shout out to our server Isaac who made my Father's Day very special!

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Reserved a table ahead of time and requested window table for river view. Was accommodated well even with large crowd. Ribs are delicious as always. Had live music upstairs at bar while waiting as well. Nice touch.

Food and service is excellent. But it was a bit pricey for what you get.
And that is why I only gave it 4 stars.

Fantastic place to dine. Great food, great service, and great view! Our waiter was very attentive and welcoming. Had a wonderful time with a large party of 12. Highly recommend this Cincy favorite!

The food is good. The view of the mud river is nice. The staff was pleasant. I felt you were paying a premium for the name.

Had a party here, the chicken was amazing but the roasted potatoes were hard, the green beans were gross and the ribs were just okay, nothing special.

Staff was extremely friendly and understanding in regards to my child and his needs!

Never a disappoint

Ribs were a bit too sweet for me, and a bit dry. For the amount of build up to them, I was underwhelmed. Pork chop was well cooked and well seasoned though. Service was very good.

Made reservations and they still made us wait 20 minutes. We were ignored by our waiter after being seated. The food wasn't worth it for the price. Save your money and go to any other BBQ place in the city.

The brisket was dry and overcooked. I was not a fan of the brussel sprouts or the spice in the sweet potatoes but the onion straws were really good.

This place is overrated and overpriced. Been here 3-4 times. BBQ is average. Great view of the river though.

I have had BBQ all over the country St Louis, NY, NC and they all have their pluses and minuses. However the BBQ here has a lot more minus than pluses. For one the prices are rather high for what you get. $22.99 for what most places call like 3/4 rack of rips with only one side. The view is nice but it is BBQ it is supposed to be cheap and lots of it. I have been at places in NY where $19.99 gets you 3/4 rack of ribs 2 sides and cornbread with better ribs. The sauce is OK. It does have a good amount of flavor but a little sweet for me. Their Mac and cheese was a bit chalky seems like came from a box or something. But on the plus side they do have a big place with lots of big tables for large parties. They have valet which is nice but $4. The view of the river is nice too. But overall I would say it is overprices and the food is only OK. I wouldn't recommend to BBQ fans.

Have our company Christmas party here every year! Never disappoints

In December, our three sons, their wives, my husband and I went to Orchids to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. When we arrived at our table there was a birthday card addressed to Don, and the personal touches and service continued through the meal.

Our bartender David was spectacular food was as well

Food was excellent and the view of the Ohio River and boat traffic was fantastic. Service was excellent as well. Great place to eat and enjoy the view.

Celebrated first year of dating here. Excellent experience and the wait-staff treated us very nicely. (Funny - I think the waiter thought I proposed. It felt like he "congratulated" us a hundred times)

This place can't say enough good about. Great food great service. Staff is top notch.

A very nice place with a beautiful view of the river. Ask to sit by the window! In the evening, the lights from across the river are very pretty. A good place for a photo. Food was good. We all are the ribs and we're happy. Enough to take some home too. A little more expensive, but it was worth it!

The lightly fried shrimp was flavorful with plum/honey mustard sauce. The Original BBQ Ribs were finger licking good! The chips were perfectly fried! I also enjoyed the view!

This is my favorite Montgomery Inn location. It's situated along a beautiful park in downtown Cincinnati and has great views of the river. Make sure you make a reservation as it gets very busy, especially when they do AYCE Ribs.

Ribs, Pork Chop, Salmon entrees and sides were outstanding, followed by yummy fresh strawberry shortcake. Service was very professional, friendly and pleastantly attentive. Very good bloody mary also

Insanely good ribs with a nice river view. Exceptional and prompt service. Free valet for lunch was a nice touch.

All very good.
But the great thing is that the waitress brought us so many things just to taste that we didn't find on the account.
He brought us so many that we no longer believed they would be free

Is there a better place to take a visitor to Cincinnati? Ribs are always great and have enjoyed them many times here, but I went to lunch here with colleague and really enjoyed the sandwiches too! Service is top notch and the place is well run. Enjoy the views of the river and, if it's nice out, sit outside on the patios. You won't be disappointed.

Ribs were wonderful. Baked potato wasn't the best. Drinks were good and somewhat om the strong side.

Attended a USO event. Service was great....the food left a little to be desired. They most likely didnt pick the menu but they made the food....improvements could have been made to both

I don't eat red meat... So, I'm not the target market. Chicken was pretty good!

Lunch today was pretty much standard Ribs fare. Ribs are good, but not much comes with the meal, only one side. No salad, that's extra and at almost $30 that seems steep. We paid over $100 for two adults and one teen, with only one wine, one beer and one dessert. For lunch!
Tables are old cafeteria style, I guess table cloths are just at dinner? Service was fine, food was same as ever, but the value just isn't enough to bring in many people. Such a lovely spot, this place needs an update and an improved menu.

It was good. However I didn't get the "Outstanding" vibe though. Very nice facility and beautiful view!

Understand reservation policy is not a guarantee for exact time off seating however due to the hostess station being overwhelmed and disorganized we waited over an hour to be seated. Fortunately we had a great server hence the 3 stars...

One word - ribs! Excellent. Chili was good too, but the ribs made the meal. Fall off the bone, good flavor on the sauce. Wish I had time to stay and enjoy a cigar on the patio...yep, they allow cigar smoking on the patio, and they even sell some cigars there. It was lunch and I had to work so I didnt have any alcohol but from what I saw they had a decent bourbon and scotch selection. Friendly staff, will be back.

One of the best rib places in Cincinnati. Totally worth the cost.

Not impressed. My sirloin strip steak with ONE side at $36 was so overpriced. I don't eat ribs, but others in our party of 6 got ribs. Another got the brisket..she left part of it and never got her cornbread. Our server was awful, during the long wait I observed other servers doing an excellent job with their customers and keeping up on refills. Nice view of the river.. perhaps next time I'll pay nearly $4 and drink soda to enjoy the view. Not!

We love this restaurant! GREAT views and even better BBQ. It's my favorite BBQ in Cincinnati and one of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati in general. Plenty of parking and valet at a pretty good price. It usually fills up so I reccomend getting a reservation ( say you want a window, you won't regret it) it's great to bring the family for a casual meal, or for a nice date night!!

Terrible service, and the chef too!! If you ask for your filet to be butterflied and well done, forget it!! They brought it out way under cooked, and told us there wasn't enough time. We had a 730 reservation, and when they finally returned with it the steak was still under cooked!

Facility was great, Service was great, food was okay.

I paid a fortune for potato chips (available on almost every menu item), bag lettuce, and boiled chicken that smelled like a wet dog. Worst barbecue sauce on the planet.

This is the first time I've been to this location since 1997. Service was great and food was OK. They need more handicap parking. The three spots are not enough.

Ww came here for our 26th wedding anniversary. We loved it. We drove from Greenwood, Indiana to Cincinnati, Ohio and we can't wait to go back.

Very nice river view. Good that there is a bar where you can kill time when waiting for a table. Better make a reservation to avoid long waiting time. Food comes very quickly & service is fine. 2 drawbacks: parking costs $5 & ribs r not as good as claimed.

The Montgomery Inn is one of the top restaurants in Greater Cincinnati. It is probably the best restaurant experience you can have along the Ohio River near Cincinnati.

Known for the ribs and sauce The Experience here who's far beyond that one item. They have great Seafood items as well as roast duck orange sauce and don't miss the onion straws or kitchen chips to enhance your meal.

I recommend this restaurant as a place to take a business guest or to go for a celebration. The wait staff is terrific and the owners are right there to help at all times. And experience you will definitely appreciate.
