Stayed at the LVH May 21-25. I admit i was extremely nervous about our stay due to the bad reviews and distance from the strip (we usually stay center strip), but to my surprise it wasnt bad at all. Our room was nice and clean as it should be, air conditioning was perfect, housekeeping was on point, and the monorail being right in front of the hotel was a major plus. Only thing i didnt like was that there wasnt a restaurant or cafe open in the hotel when we were starving at 3am on the night we decided to not go out, but we found Peppermill thats open 24 hrs and literally a 2 min drive away.

Ria at check in was awesome!

Constant bombardment by people offering "free gift" wouldn't even tell me where my elevator was. Got to room stains on curtains and ottoman, bathroom smelt like cigarettes. Called front desk upgraded my room downgraded my view. New room was nice but a little damaged had to tell front desk since I wanted my deposit back. Went to check out and they said would I stay again if they gave me a "free" room. "Sure." I said. Then they said it's 100 dollars for the "free" room. Won't be staying again even for "free".

I have stayed here the last 2 years for a youth sports event. The rooms are okay, not terrible but could use updating. My complaint is that they charge you a resort fee yet they do not offer anything for that fee. They do not have coffee makers in the room (which even the cheapest hotels have now) so you are forced to go to their cafe downstairs and buy a $5 coffee in the morning. Their pool has also been closed for the season each time we stay there so we couldn't even swim or use the hot tub. What exactly does the resort fee cover if you don't get anything beyond the basic hotel amenities? And without a coffee maker, not even the basic amenities! I don't mind paying a resort fee I would just like to actually get something for it.

Room is super dated, internet is far overpriced, as is the room service (even more so than other hotels) my particular room has a leaky, chipped bathtub that looks disgusting. I've seriously stayed in Best Westerns nice than this place. Also, be wary while checking in as they will try to trick you into giving them permission to put your personal info on a call list to try and sell you a timeshare. Not at all happy about this place.

Wonderful hotel! Great customer service AND an actual blanket on the bed!

Cons:
- We smelled mold in the bathroom and the tub had some stains.
- The two "Queen" size beds were actually full size beds.

Pros:
- Quick customer service and clean up for the mold situation in the bathroom.
- Put the two beds together for a larger bed! :)

We will be staying at this hotel again.

If I could give this hotel a zero rating I would. Worst customer service reps I have ever seen. The first lady I spoke with to check in (Michelle) couldn't find my reservation and said that it was canceled. She wasted my time and asked to contact the third party I had made the reservation with. I pulled up my booking number and went back to another customer service rep and he was able to find my reservation. All he had to do was search for my name in the system and found the reservation. To top it all off they could not give me the room I requested with a king size bed. Instead they gave me a room with two single beds... what a horrible experience. I would nit recommend this place to anyone. Spend your money elsewhere.

This is an older hotel and it shows. Upon check-in, I noticed the cushion on the office chair was quite beat up and torn. The chair was also wobbly and didn't feel safe to sit on. The front desk was quick to address this issue and replaced the chair with one that wasn't as beat up. The shower faucet leaked when shut off. Maintenance said they were aware of the problem and are working in tiers to update the rooms.

So while the hotel is on the older, run-down side, the staff tries their best to quickly address issues. The proximity to the Las Vegas Convention Center makes this a good place to stay, especially during CES.

The restaurants on the premise were average. I would suggest staying away from the cafe. Benihana was alright but for some reason, they took forever to seat us, even though it was not busy that night. Oftentimes, I went offsite to eat.

It appears more than half slot machine are down for upgrade-don't like.
My room is horrible ie...water drips in tub unable to shut off completely (unnecessary high water bill and waste of resources).
Carpet is very dated along with furniture.
I can go on and on. As being a owner I am very very saddened.

Upon check in (check in starts at 3pm, we were there at 4pm) we were told all rooms with 2 beds were sold out even though we reserved a two bed room! They said we could wait around and see if one gets cleaned!!! Really!!! This was very normal to them, so we had to take a king size bed with a couch bed! Not a great bed!

Stayed for a couple of nights at the end of July 2...

Stayed for a couple of nights at the end of July 2018.

The rooms were awful. Comparable to a motel you find in a low income city. The sheetrock on the roof was cracked and sagging. The a/c vent was rusted and sagging. The bathroom was dirty and bath drain plug was rusty. There was an old anti slip bathtub mat draped on the bathtub that looked disgusting (these are $1 at WalMart!). The only essentials offered are shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Lacks all the other things you would normally find at a 'resort' (no cups, coffee maker, hair dryer, ours did not have a replenished laundry bag, ice bucket, etc...) There was red tape on the floor where the carpet met the entrance tile (forgot to get pic of this). A/C was at coolest setting but room was not very cool.

We didn't book to stay in the rooms all day and weren't expecting the best, but they are very outdated, dirty, and the pictures shown on the online booking procedures are VERY misleading. And this is much further from the strip than we had hoped. Therefore, booking a cheaper resort actually cost us more to get a ride to the strip.

The WiFi did not work despite paying the fee, and the front desk responded "It should work". Do not plan on checking in before 3pm without paying an extra $25. They have a place where you can store your luggage until 3pm, however, I'd wait until some time after as the line at the 3pm check-in is quite long. The staff was nice, but they were very unhelpful.

Be warned: you will get bombarded to participate in timeshare meetings via bribery marketing, e.g. $100 food credit if you watch this video. Now, the main issue with this is how it was presented and the high pressure involved. To us, we were told if you take a 90 minute tour of the facility you will get free lunch and a $100 food credit. That free lunch was accompanied by salesman trying to pressure you into buying their stuff. And the tour was basically nonexistent. We had to tell 4 separate salesmen NO before we could finally leave. Each coming back with the typical "How about we offer this instead" or "I will take $1000 off right now" tactics and refusing to leave after the first no. So I would just stay away and let them know you are not interested if this is something that might bother you like it did us.

The only reason it is not a 1 star review: If you sign up for a player's card, they give you a free spin to use "house" money on their slot machines. We only won $5, but that's still $5 free slot play. And the casino is small compared to some of the others but wasn't ever really crowded. Can order drinks on the little screen. Linda was quick to bring drinks in the area we played, was nice, and pretty funny.

Stayed here for the national dart tournament. The past few years it was held at Bally's.... I liked that much more. The new system of ordering a drink from your machine sucks, never won enough money to sit in one spot for long. Everything was more expensive at Westgate. No cheap food court. Too far off the strip had to walk a long way to get there or ride the Monorail, the Monorail is awesome but doesn't go everywhere. Having a bad back makes that walk unbearable. Wi-Fi is bad... Had to reconnect every time I left my room. The food prices in the dart area was unreal. Being diabetic I need to eat but couldn't afford the prices. Just not impressed with the whole experience!

We decided to book a one night stay at Westgate Las Vegas Hotel..The hotel entrance was very confusing initially since there a multiple entrance but once we figured it was ok. The MLCP parking is also quiet close to this hotel. Once we entered the hotel, it was a long walk to the reception area which had a long waiting queue. Once we checked in, 2 couples - 4 adults and 1 kid, we got an upgrade in one of the rooms..pictures attached of the upgraded room, which was very nice..though the rooms were quiet luxurious absence of basic electronics such as hot water kettle or hair dryer was a put off since we were paying CAD 130 for one rooms coupled with a bummer resort fees of CAD 53 making it around CAD 180-190 plus taxes. Also, for folks looking to book here need to account that one has to take a cab from here to reach the Vegas Strip. The hotel has in-house casino and retail floor which is quiet big. In case, you couldn't play on the vegas strip, come back to hotel and play here..

Stayed here for one night on business. Having travelled from the East coast the one thing that you don't want to have to do is wait in line for around 45 minutes to get checked in to your room! TSA at the airport was a shorter wait and a more pleasurable experience. Same experience last year.
Come on management. We as a species have robots driving around on Mars. I'm pretty certain that if you wanted to you could sort this out. Won't stay here again.

We did a tour of the whole resort. It has some great views and the rooms are beautiful with hot tubs!!! The casino is very average and small though. The sports betting area is really nice as they have been upgraded! The guest breakfast we had was disappointing.

There a few things that cause me to give this review, first was the elevator. The wait time to get on the thing was up to like 10 minutes sometimes. There was actually one time we got stuck on there for like 30 minutes and no one is yet to say anything to us yet about it. Concierge people are very aggressive, too busy to get a sale on their time share that they harrasses is every time they see us. We went for a conference, eddy was very nice and not pushy and was very understanding but towards the manager came very pushy and blantly said she s just here to make the money. We did not purchase the timeshare. While the room was clean you could tell it needed to be updated. The stopper in the sink was stuck down with no visible was to pull it up. A maintenance man had to come in and push it up from the buttom, even after that the drainage of the sink still took forever. Last was the shuttle, I have never been to a hotel where I had to pay to use the shuttle. Overall we probably will not stay at Westgate in the future.

This is an older hotel on the northern end of the strip. If you are accustomed to the likes of Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian etc.. then this is not the place for you. However, most of the rooms have been renovated and are descent. While it's not on the strip, it is connected to the monorail which makes getting to the strip easy. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Rooms have smart TV's and a mini-fridge. 24 hour Starbucks on premises along with a few other restaurants. Nice pool area as well. If you don't want to pay the ridiculous prices for water and other essentials hop on the monorail to the SLS, which is 1 stop away. From there you can walk to a 24 hour Walgreens and huge gift shop that sells water for .99 cents.

Large clean rooms, big tv which is a nice touch bathrooms are clean and good size. Comes with a fridge so you can chill drinks or food. Good selection of restaurants sids cafe is a good choice, Starbucks yoghurt and slush type stuff for kids. Check in is easy and very quick entrance is large and always kept clean and tidy. Game floor is also decent size. Never tried the spa or the wedding service but they are there if you need them! Mono rail right outside the hotel. If you have a car parking is free. Overall I would recommend this hotel its up the north end of the strip but with the mono rail its easy to get around and I would return to this hotel

Room advertised that it came with breakfast but don't actually expect to get it. We had to jump through hoops and wait in a ridiculous line just to be allowed to enter. They really just wanted us to pay again. Save your money and stay somewhere that doesn't try to make you pay for breakfast twice.

Also the hotel limits where you can get an Uber or Lyft, so if you try to call them from the "wrong" entrance the driver can get in trouble. We didn't even know there were two entrances, let alone a "right" and "wrong" one. It's not my job to figure out the morality of using a particular exit.

I probably could have found out about the second ("right") entrance if I'd asked someone, but by now the employees have me well trained to avoid and ignore them bc they are constantly trying to upsell me. They literally have to stand in the walkways and approach people who are walking by. I actually feel really bad for the employees because that must be a terrible job.

Absolutely horrible!!!!!Our room blew cold air even on cranking it up to 80! Put in a call to maintenance nobody showed up ! Our friends were staying in the adjoining room we left the adjoining doors open all weekend . She had maintenance in her room for a problem with the sink. Maintenance came up fixed it while we were gone and they left the door wide open to her room. So people had access to both of our room for at least five hours. Thank God nothing was stolen. Anyone walking the halls had access to both of our rooms for Whi knows how long . They handled that the situation horribly. Totally not worth staying at this hotel! Apparently it s OK to leave our rooms unsecure they have no problem with it and as long as nothing was stolen they didn t see what the big deal was!!

The buffet was amazing, tasty and full of variety
Staff were very helpful and nice
Rooms were immensely clean
They have a go green option, you opt in and the maid wont clean your room that day, in return you receive a $10 coupon towards any food and drinks.
Therefore bringing the dinner buffet to $14, definitely worth it.

First, I have to say I received a really great deal on my hotel room through a company event. I can't complain on that front.

However, I was not very happy with the location being away from everything forcing you to get transportation out to the strip or downtown to find food or drinks that aren't overpriced. I did end up eating at the hotel franchised Starbucks, the fast food court, and in the main restaurant (Sid's Cafe) during my stay. The Starbucks was basically good but double the price you'd pay at a company owned store. The food court which is located by the sports book (which is huge and very nice) had some issues. When my tournament went on break I used the kiosk to order two slices of pizza. I waited 20 minutes and had to return to my tournament in order to not miss any more hands than I already did, which can be very costly in a tournament. I went back to the food court two hours later and because I was very hungry at this point asked if they could just go ahead and fulfill the order again and they graciously handled it and I was eating pretty good pizza 10 minutes later this time. The staff did not seem well organized or efficient in either interaction.

The rewards program was extremely disappointing. I play table games for the majority of my gambling time. I was told I would receive a dollar per hour in comps to apply to hotel services. After playing 10 hours in a tournament and then a ring game of poker I decided to get something for dinner at anout 9:30 pm in the aforementioned Sid's Cafe. I ordered the NY strip steak dinner with steamed vegetables and steak fries instead of mashed potatoes. Everything was pretty good. The steak was cooked to medium rare but a little tougher than I expected. I asked about paying with comps and was assured they would take my card and apply any comps in my balance. When the bill came I presented my card and the waiter came back 10 minutes later to tell me that I had a balance of 6 cents. I groused a bit and paid my full bill with a credit card. I made a beeline to the poker room for an explanation. They told me the staff have to manually apply the comps which will not appear in the system until the next day. I groused some more but didn't blame the employee. I tried to use my comps again the next morning at the overpriced Starbucks, but still was getting a balance of .06.

I was checking out wondering how I would ever use my comps. I certainly am not interested in staying there in the future. As far as the ambience of the hotel it seemed overall very dated. I like the throwback elements (like the Elvis history) and other photos in the lobby that provided a sense of the old Vegas heyday. I also like that it is on the monorail line. All of that was not enough to make me recommend this hotel. The windows were all dirty which made some pretty amazing views not so great. This is my longest review I've ever posted, but felt I had quite a bit of detail to share.

The Westgate is a well situated Resort right next to the monorail that runs up and down Las Vegas. It's a large Resort with ample room for events. I am here for the APA World Championship pool tournament and as far as I can tell it is going off flawlessly. The staff have been extremely helpful with all of our Resort needs. The rooms are a good size we have a king size bed and my only complaint would be that the pillows are too fluffy I would like to see them work on the speed of their elevators which seemed a little slow for a hotel that is this full. Other than that I gave the hotel for stars and it is well worth it.

Recently attended a convention in Las Vegas and chose to stay at The Westgate Resort since it was located next to the convention center. The hotel itself was ok. The hotel decor is a little dated but I think that is by choice. pool area is was nice and had a bar. Rooms were also dated. My room had a red leather couch. Elvis would have been happy. I had two issue with this resort. First the air in my room would not cool. The temps were in the high 80's and low 90's during my stay so a/c was a must. My room would never cool below 75. I reported the issue to the front desk on three consecutive days and was assured it was going to be fixed. Never was fixed. I finally checked out of the hotel a day early and moved to the Embassy Suites. The front desk clerk asked why I was leaving early and after I explained the reason she apologized but never offered to move my room or try to compensate me for my inconvenience. Poor customer service in this area. Second issue is you are constantly harassed to take the time share tours while walking through the lobby. This happened every day.

The staff was very friendly through out the stay but customer service needs improvement.

The good news is their room rates are much lower than those 3 blocks over on the strip. They also have what I consider to be the best sports book I've ever been in. The bad news is their in-house pricing for various things. $38.00 resort fees for things few of us ever use. $17.00 for bacon & eggs. $9.00 for a foot long hot dog. We'll probably look elsewhere for our next trip to sin city.

We also went there to see Barry Manilow perform his show and it was great with a quality band of supporting of musicians. Westgate is not very close to the strip, but the monorail provided cheap transportation. If you are new to Vegas you may find it difficult how to find the boarding stations or how to get to your destination if it is outside of the hotel the monorail takes you too. So try to plan ahead. Cell phones can be difficult to use depending on where you stand, so being prepared can help you focus on the fun instead of navigation. My room at the Westgate was supposed to have been renovated, but it just looked like newer lamps and drapes were bought. Everything was worn and slightly damaged. Service has been great so far. Very nice staff.
