Luxor Theater Review

Nice theater, decorated with style and taste. Professionals have clearly thought about this. During the day or in the evening, you are really 'out'. The free wardrobe, for example, is a sign that makes you feel welcome. Nice room too, where even in the back everything looks good.

The location is particularly easy to reach, even if you first want to take a bite at Katendrecht (cross the bridge at Hotel New York, 'the whore runner').

The only detail was that some coffee counters were closed and others thus had long queues.

Nice location, good acoustics. Had a nice show. Only accessibility is disappointing. It took a long time to get there.

Beautiful. But of course cannot match the old Luxor.

My family went there after the WWII memorial event on War Memorial Day. We got there by bike and only found a few bike parking spots opposite (NOT nearby) the theater entrance and we had to walk the bike across the road. The small bike parking area next to the Wilhelminaplein Metro station was full, so we headed further down the road and that was not convenient when travelling with kids. For car parking, you would have to pay quite a lot. Perhaps if you plan to spend hours at the theater, you can consider buy the parking exit ticket at the theater or park further away for free and walk 6-8 minutes to the theater.

The theater building itself is spacious with a very modern design. You expect to walk a lot of long stairs (with or without wide steps) up and down and to get to different levels. Nice view to look out through tall glass window panels! The food counters were not all open wherever the crowd was, and we found beverages were pricey at the bar indeed. Inside the seating hall, which is beautiful and enough legroom for tall people too, can accommodate plenty of audiences (even with seats on upper levels), but I find it uneasy to get in and out of the long seat rows.

Audiences in the first show were told to get their electronic mobile devices logged into the designated theater network and that was actually the entire performance. To me, that was not too impressive, maybe for kids! The second performance, which was about the life story of two young persons from eastern Europe (old time of Yugoslavia) before, in and after the war. The performancers seemed to do a good job, but the long story with loud sound effects made me feel dizzy and a bit overwhelming!

Perhaps I will have a different experience with different kinds of performance in my future visit.

8: Metamorphosis was really a brilliant show played in a beautiful atmospheric, but modern theater.

The New Luxor Theater is beautiful on the inside. Finding your place is a bit more difficult, but luckily the staff present will help you with that.

Beautiful location and a very nice building. Wardrobe, tickets and consumption well arranged. Access a lot less unfortunately. Public transport can be done, but parking remains very expensive.

Nice at the head of Zuid. The stage is clearly visible through the staggered (less easily when someone with a dot on top of the head goes down). Nice restaurants in the area, public transport, car parks, water taxis etc.

It was a great night. Those stairs alone are a problem for people who have difficulty walking.

Nice theater, good view, good seats and good sound. During intermission, all drinks were on the table so no line! Before the performance started, there were no people to show you the way, which resulted in many people going wrong.

Very beautiful building. Enjoyed the musical. However, the chairs were not really nice to sit long and relaxed.

Spacious parking facilities in the immediate vicinity. Musical visit turns out to be inclusive of drinking, well stocked on tables, no waiting times during the break to have a drink :)

The experience I had here was perfect. Good sound and light, and the staff is very attentive.
The seats in the room are also great, super comfortable and you have plenty of legroom.
The room is beautiful and very nice. We were in the middle and you still had the idea that you were close to the stage.

Nice theater but lacks all the charm of the real Luxor. Had better been given a different name in that regard. The climate system is also definitely not optimal.

Giant hospitable place, very good theater. Easily accessible by metro. Nice place to go! One of the best theaters in the Netherlands. Good catering and nice arrangements around or during the performance for an attractive price. Good service. Recommended!

Beautiful theater. Only difficult for slightly disabled people. To come to a regular place stalls. You must always take a staircase as far as I can see. That is not so easy for everyone. Especially because there is no support for this in the hall when walking on the stairs in the hall.
Know is a lift to you then have to go up or down 1 stairs to get to your entrance.
If this were better or clearly arranged. Then it would certainly have been a 5.

Have been here a few times including at Youp van 't Hek. We thought it was a nice room. We had dinner there once, but we did not find this tasty. No further complaints.

Beautiful, modern theater, near many restaurants and, not unimportant, also many parking garages and pitches. System with the (free) drinks in the foyer also very easy and time-saving!
