In short, excellent hotel; staff are friendly, genuine and super helpful, rooms are spacious and well laid out, food and drink incredible. Breakfast in your bedroom/lunch on the beach was great, lots of complimentary water sports available, would definitely return.

The setting is fabulous. Technical hiccups. Hot water bath tub water was tepid. The satellite TV and Internet in room didn't work for a whole weekend. These infrastructure problems may have been overcome with a better management. Don't know. Never been back since 2010 and have no intention of doing so, there is so much choice available in Mauritius.
Great for photos.

Good hotel, in a beautiful setting with efficient service. Stopping a 5* would be the food. It is definitely above average, but not so much and we decided to head out for a couple of meals in other locations. Good golf coverage though as two clubs are part of the group and therefore the golf, including club hire, is free. That's excellent and the courses are good quality.

Hotel 5+ stars however it is less than the constance Belle Mare beach (5 stars from the same owner)
Example spa too small and without jacuzzi!

The hotel is less well equipped and more expensive (600 / night).

I have just returned from Mauritius, 6 wonderful days in Prince Maurice, despite the weather not really Clemente, our stay for our wedding anniversary to summer fairy. When I read the comments on this hotel I tell myself that all these people are stingy in Compliments, I am very demanding but the, it is the perfection, a caring staff that makes you feel like at home, beautiful gardens, a gastronomic restaurant, the most beautiful wine cellar of the Indian Ocean (With a chef sommelier, Jerome, incredible, I recommend the evening in winecellar without hesitation), the Spa Sysley, with high quality care, a suite on stilts surrounded by mangroves where you feel isolated from the world, in short either it was the drunkenness of our 30 years of marriage, or really the Paradise exists ......

I'm Marco from Italy , we wen with my family to have a dinner the 23rd of January in the float restaurant , the location is amazing but the best moment was when we went in the cellar of wine and champagne . There we met Jerome , the sommelier of this place from France.
He was amazing , professional and smart guy.
We enjoy a lot with him and when I will come back in this hotel I will come also for him.
Tks Jerome for the fantastic moment that you spend with us
See you soon

My wife and I stayed for ten days in May and fell in love with the resort, such a beautiful hotel with a super professional and charming staff!

It s difficult to add anything new to the well-deserved praise already written by other guests, but we would like to mention all the care my wife received when two days after our arrival, she came down with a very bad cold. Dalida very kindly arranged for a steaming hot pot of infusion tea and honey to be brought to our suite before bedtime for the rest of our stay.

A special thanks to sweet Alina for the warm welcome and Akshada at Guest Relation for all her help during our stay, Nadia and Pascal for their commitment to service and sense of humor which always made our dinners at Barachois a special experience, Frank at Uspa Spa, Kunal for keeping our suite in such pristine conditions and all of the staff who made us feel like treasured guests.

Also, a warm and special thanks to chef Rishiraj for his amazing food and excellent and attentive service during our stay, and for all the attention he gave to our private dinner at the beach to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We would absolutely recommend Le Prince Maurice to others.

Luxurious spring, pity that since the main beach there is the view on the wind turbines and the mobile antennas. The beach on the other side has a nicer view but there are no sunbeds unless you are in the private cottages, a bit out of the way restaurants and bars.

We have been spending the first holidays without children for a long time and have chosen this hotel. Here you can absolutely enjoy "beeing guest". All wishes are read from the lips. Very friendly and warm staff. The food in all three restaurants is great. The service on the beach and at the pool is brilliant and very courteous. A dream.

I was very pleased to return to the Barachois, ama...

I was very pleased to return to the Barachois, amazing restaurant of Prince Maurice, one of the most beautiful hotels in Mauritius.

The hotel is true to my memory, a wonderful place where luxury is brought to its pinnacle. A superb pool, efficient and discreet staff. But the reason for my visit is elsewhere.

The restaurant has not moved a hair. At the end of a long wooden bridge, the floats on the lagoon always welcome 4 to 5 tables in a most peaceful environment.

Before, you could enjoy the sunset on a floating bar too. Classic cocktail menu.

What's happening ? The card seems very light. The description of the dishes is not very gastronomic. But do not have a priori.

But hey, all the same, these Chinese steamed buns do not bode well. A little sticky, without real taste.

The appetizers are not very fun.

Choose the nem duck Souillac. It did not come from Dordogne but from the south of the island which has a commune of the same name.

And here, the drama ...

A rice pancake steamed but not fried, a bit elastic, a duck bland. That confirms the first impression. The papaya puree can not but.

The cassolette of grated bread and braised bread is only worth the rougaille.

The cassolette of shrimp and squid is all that is classic in the local cuisine, without special adaptation that one could expect from a restaurant integrated in a hotel of this level. The same quality can be found in several canteens in Mauritius.

The tip bar with mirin sauce is a distressing presentation. Any apprentice would do better. The cooking is a little push without spoiling the dish, the sauce is good.

I found at Barachois the same disappointment, worse, than I had at the Blue Penny, the restaurant of Constance Belle Mare, which belongs to the same group.

All this is understandable if one analyzes their commercial and marketing policy through their wine cellar.

Bizarre? No.

This group focuses all its communication on a collection of exceptional bottles in the Indian Ocean (which is quite true) and totally neglects the "solid" side of the restaurant.

This gives quite banal, even uninteresting maps to Barachois, which have not at all the gastronomic level of the hotel or the oenological offer.

This was especially noticeable in the wine board, which led me to a Hamilton Russel much too young and dreadfully expensive.

Rest Johnny, the shark locked in the lagoon since its closure a few years ago. But do not worry, it's a nice beast less than two meters, not a big white!

And the frame. But at night, everything is black!

There is nothing worse than arriving at a restaurant filled with positive memories and coming out with an immeasurable disappointment.
That does not mean that we have eaten badly. Simply, the standard of the plate, the originality taste, the culinary research are not there.
Addition of 250 euros for 2, half of which for wine. So very, very expensive for what it is.

The note is not catastrophic thanks to the frame and the service.

My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon and had such a wonderful time. Luxury doesn't even begin to describe the resort. The beach is lovely, there are 2 pools, and there are a wide variety of water activities. All there restaurants offered great food. Can't recommend enough.
