Half the trouble. The beds are not very comfortable, no fridge, washbasin Inglish-style (2 tap without a mixer). The room as a whole looks poor. He lived there for 2 weeks. Uncomfortable. Of the benefits - the institution has a free sauna, gym, swimming pool. Bar with standard rates (for Britain).

Booked through work for 5 of us attending a conference in nearby Bedford, this was the preferred choice by our company due to the price per person. Don't be put off by it being cheaper then others near by, far more superior than premier inn etc.
We were very impressed, rooms were clean and comfortable, tea/coffee making facilities, tv, hairdryer and heated adequately.
Both Dinner and Breakfast were excellent, an array of different foods, freshly cooked.
The bar was great too, there's a large screen tv, (football was on) and plenty of seating.
All the staff were very helpful.
There's also free parking and WiFi, cash machines on site and a costa coffee machine.

Rooms are small, Food is poor, wardrobe handles broken, most public areas need cleaning up, generally this hotel requires up dating as it doesn't look like anything has been done since it was build, staff are a little ignoant, overall a disappointing experience and I never wish to go back, I use hotels on a regular basis and this is by far one of the worst I have used.

Poor staff..

Poor staff..

After almost one hour waiting in the queue to do the check in .when it was my turn not even a simple "apologies for waiting" and on the top of that the young lady was very rude saying "I know you don't have to pay for your bedroom" when I was trying to explain that I've got a debit card recorded on your system .Not a good experience at all... Not sure about using this place again!

I have been staying in Kents Hill for years now. I visit for work quite regularly. The staff are friendly and professional and the hotel is generally well maintained and clean.

The rooms are basic but always very clean and well kept. Every room is pretty much identical so I have learned what to expect and its more than enough for my needs.

I have seen some reviews complaining that the beds are too hard. Though the mattresses are quite firm they are great quality and I find them very comfortable personally. The bed linens and pillows always very clean and fresh. I've not seen any shabby or worn bedding, you get the feeling everything is quite new.

The showers/baths are usually great. They have raindrop shower heads and the water is easy to get the temperature you need. (I like my showers almost unbearably hot). The shower foam/gel in the dispenser is quite nice and of a good quality and they have dove cream wash next to the handbasins.

The only negative point I've found is the lack of heating control in the rooms.
In the summer I have found it to be quite hot and difficult to sleep (even with the windows open) . And in the winter you have very little control over the heating. I have found the rooms to be a little chilly during the night.
You can adjust the knob on the radiators to turn them up or down but this does little if the main heating supply is off.

In the resteraunt you don't order from a menu. It's self service canteen style. But don't let this put you off. Depending on which day you are there you will find several different options and they are always good quality meals.. I've had everything from roasts and stew, to Mexican, Chinese and Italian. They always have a selection of vegetarian dishes, lots of deserts, a salad bar and cold meats and cheeses etc. I very much enjoy my meals and love the variety. I think its usually better value to pay for a meal card which comes with your room. I have heard from others it can be a little pricey to buy meals separately.

Along with your room and access to the resteraunt and bar you can also use their health club which is just a couple of minutes walk across the car park.
Theres a gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a pretty decent pool as well as a few larger courts and studios for other sports and activities.
You just walk over, give them your key and they will provide a towel and locker for you.

Over all I would say this a good place to stay for work /business for a few days. It might not be the sort of place you would take someone for a romantic getaway or a good place for kids bit it's built and aimed at the professional crowd for conferences etc. It does what it says on the tin and while it's not lavish or romantic I would happily stay here for work any Time and recommend it to other for the same purpose.
(I have only removed one star based on the issues I have with the temperature in the rooms. Otherwise this would be a 5* review).

Attended a two day conference here. The beds are very hard, walls are quite thin so can be noisy. Good setting for a conference. We did need to make an effort to get outside as all building connected by a walk way.

The window in our room did not shut. It s the middle of winter and the temperature outside is 4 degrees, which evidently due to the window not being able to be shut is also the temperature inside.

I was at the hotel for 4 days for an event. I had my computer and other stuff in the room and was going back to it throughout the day to do some work. First, there's no mobile phone signal and the wifi wasn't working, and took more than a day to be fixed. Unacceptable. As I need to upload and download files for work everyday. And when the wifi was fixed the connection was quite poor. Second, I left the card hanging on the door knob so they wouldn't enter into my room. Even with the note, I had a lady knocking asking if I needed room service and I told her no. After all this they still came into my room every day when I wasn't there! Unbelievable! It made me very upset. The room was ok, but I wasn't happy that they didn't respect my decision as a guest.

Very strange setup, carpark is always rammed, rooms are ok just seem strange with these huge windows. Feels like a college or something you would visit with school. Talking about schools, the restaurant is basically a canteen, grab a tray and choose from a few different meals on offer. Not great and not that cheap.

Stayed here on 2 occasions and both visits were a let down. The thermostats on the radiators didn't work, the beds were ok, but not made for tall people. The evening meals were avoided and we opted to eat out on both occasions. On the plus side, the breakfast was really nice.

We still have not figured out what this place is. Training center? Hotel? Feels like a sanitarium. Restaurant was terrible. Security lacking - no way to lock door from inside, emergency exits closed with zip ties, creepy feel all around.

Part of a large complex where people come to have important meetings about ongoing forward paradigms. Smartly presented and conveniently located is about the best I can come up with, would've received more *s were it not for the concrete More

Training at the event was good. There were too many basics missing at the hotel for me to enjoy it and the room was tiny. To iron you had to use a communal iron, the smoking area was closed off to often

Don't expect miracles, it ain't a hotel! However, as Training Centres go, it is ok. Free access to Nuffield Gym is a bonus.
"WiFi" is bleak but some people on my course reported a better coverage than I had.

All round good hotel, staff friendly, if a little re miss at times, forgot to clean our room, but couldn't do enough when asked about it. Enjoyed our stay. Do not go to the health club, it is in desperate need of a deep clean or refurbishment.

I was in the UK for business in June 2019 and stayed here for 2 weeks.
I liked it.

The rooms are in a quiet location, the curtains close light-tight (which is very beneficial when working at night, when you sleep during the day), the staff were all very friendly and special requests were taken into account.

The breakfast was typical of the country and very rich in selection, took some getting used to, but in retrospect it was very tasty.

I always ate out for lunch, so I can't tell you about it.

Due to the size of the area, the paths are very spacious, but covered and charming.

The outdoor parks, which invite you to take a walk, are beautiful.

The ventilation of the bar could be better, that's where the haze pulls in, I suspect from the kitchen, which can lead to unpleasant smells.

The hotel is conveniently located so that you can easily get anywhere in the area.

All in all I enjoyed it a lot.
I would stay there again and when the "Corona crisis" is over I will visit GB again, but then privately with my family.

A little hint:
The tastiest beer "Birra morettis"
(Guinness tastes horrible when fresh from the tap ).

Brilliant service. The rooms are a bit 1980's in feel and how they perform. So I was put in a room were the toilet didn't flush well. Nothing moved!! But the lovely lady on afternoon reception (who is fantastic) changed my room straight away. Super!

It was ok I suppose, but its a strange layout! You can tell it wasn't designed as a hotel.
My main issue was the lack of vacuuming in the room, as the carpet was full of bits, hairs and so on - not very nice!
