The JCC is a wonderful facility with great exercise machines. I was just was just discharged from Physical Therapy(Pivot Physical Therapy) I hope to setup a plan to continue my rehabilitation program. The employees are exceptional. One employee in the membership office I don't recall his name was very condescending to me That is the reason for 3 star rating. He should treat members respectively.

I have been using the app and swimming since June 18 reopening. Well organized and clean. Pool staff member Lex has been helpful, friendly, and accomdating knowing I like an even numbered lane. I feel that everyone I have swam with has been respectful and polite as well.

The JCC is a great place for families with a lot of options that children and parents can enjoy. For instance, my daughter loves the swimming classes and I always use the gym and basketball court. The other members and staff are as nice as they come, and you won't get the same treatment anywhere else. My only complaint is the parking garage can sometimes get busy, but there is still a lot of free parking on the street.

Crowded. Hard to park. Prices have rose astronomically over the years. You have to pay extra for the nice changing room with a decent shower. All classes cost extra if you have a regular membership. It takes weeks if not months to fix machines. This morning 2 of the 4 arc trainers are STILL broken. I'm quitting as soon as my membership is done.

Also, many of the five star ratings are coming from employees of the JCC and/or those who are involved in it in another way. I am very ashamed of the JCC and its attempts to raise its points unethically.

My grandson loves playing basketball there and it's a very safe and accommodating place. There's a beautiful pool and a few basketball courts, which makes it fun for him and comfortable for me to leave for a bit.

JCC Member services lied. MONTHLY membership is not monthly - it is a year commitment. I had limited income and was specifically told that I could cancel my monthly membership. I asked because I have limited mobility and cannot drive to JCC, have a hard time taking the bus and I thought I could go with a friend and tried for several months and that didn't pan out. When I tried to cancel my membership, I could tell that they didn't take me seriously and just are use to pushing people around. Before signing up, don't trust the membership services personnel. They asked for specific information regarding my disability trying to prove that I didn't have it over the telephone - which is blatantly illegal. I asked a bunch of questions in the beginning and was lied to. I hope the same does not happen to you.

Really fantastic gym. I'm a premium member and I love that there are always classes going on and it doesn't seem to get too crowded- even during 'peak' hours (I'm sure January will be a different story!). I highly recommend getting Centerfit for the nicer locker rooms. The higher price is 100% worth it in my opinion. It makes going to the gym enjoyable and pleasant! The lockers have free locking systems, the whirlpool/sauna/steam room is always on, there are lots of vanities with hairdryers, lotion, etc and free coffee & tea to perk up! I've been a member of several gyms around Pittsburgh and this has the nicest, CLEANEST equipment and free weight area around. Also, I just started playing racquetball since court use is free for Centerfit, fun!

Nice pool, gym, with lots of activities for young kids at the weekend (4 to pre-teen) in the winter like free play and climb, soccer, basketball in the gym. More expensive that you'd expect.

Do not join this gym! First, it is very difficult to cancel your membership. They say you can cancel your membership anytime be it medical, job loss or moving away but that's total BS. Three years ago, I broke my leg, had a cast up to my thigh, had a doctor's letter and even worker's compensation but they still would not cancel my membership so they withdrew a fee every month for almost 9 months when I didn't even use it. But if you check their forms for membership cancellation they list MEDICAL as a legitimate reason to cancel a membership - but they won't do that for you!
After 4 years, I thought maybe I should try this place again and this time I need to cancel my membership because I've lost my job and I am moving out of state but they have been giving me excuses and giving me the run around about canceling my membership. I'm sure if they can find a way to keep charging me a fee even if I've left Pittsburgh, they will.

The gym gets too busy at most times and the pool has too many senior citizens who aren't really there to socialize in the swimming lanes so it is very difficult to swim laps!

Do not join this club. I am Jewish myself and I'm not one of those anti-semitic Jews so that's not it. Mens locker room absolutely stinks!!! IT has ragged carpet that I am convinced is growing mold, because it's constantly wet. TOns of kids getting up to no good, climbing on lockers, etc.. Pool is FREEZING in the winter, on the few occasions when I've been able to swim. The issue is that the pool is monopolized by other events such as aqaufit, tournaments etc,, so it's usually unavailable. One one occasion, I got chemical burns from overchlorinated pool. A more serious issue occurred when I moved to Observatory. The management automatically renewed my membership without my knowledge, then continued to send me bills for unused membership months. they wanted 500 bucks. Also they called me intermittently to demand money.

I've been a member for over 4 years. Fantastic indoors swimming pool, 2 floors of exercise equipment, basketball court, indoors running track, racquetball court. Summer is the VERY HUGE outdoors pool, also a kids pool and hundreds of chairs. Very secluded in Monroeville. A GEM that few know of. Opening this Memorial Day.

This place has it all. Very Family oriented, if you like that. Kind of busy at times. Accepts my Silver & Fit program. Parking is public, $1 per hour, inadequate and has very tight parking spaces. Didn't get the full tour of the place as hoped, the person seemed busy, so don't know where some things are but I'll find them. Disappointed that no towels are provided except in the upgrade of the membership which I can't afford but which includes toiletries, the sauna, whirlpool and jacuzzi, which were the main reasons for selecting this facility. The cafe is not as expected, banquet style design, not modern at all, but the food is good and very affordable, they take donations. I'll try this place for a month and go from there. The other places that were on my list didn't have water amenities but they were closer and had free ample parking.

The JCC (Jewish Community Center) is such a great contributor to the community for all races, ages, religions, etc! There are many programs and events as well as other resources that involve the bettering of people. I have been involved with production of many functions at the JCC, hired in as a vendor/contractor, and I have never had a bad experience with ANYONE. From door greeters, staff & board members, security, AV department members, and so on, all people involved are nothing short of awesome and caring!

Don't go JCC if you have another chioce. They just know money money money. In order to make money they just open small pool to children have swimming class. That means those children pay extra money to JCC. But other children just have normal membership can not use it or use the warm swimming pool after 6:30pm.

Family changing room = gross! We have to use the family changing room b/c I am a mom with two young boys. They cannot enter the women's changing room and the family room is always in state of abandonment. The shower is useless and I lack words for the odor.

We are members because we do like the pool and the gym. But if there were any other options - I would jump at them because the changing room is repugnant.

I have been a member on and off for over two years. Within the last year or so they have changed so much. They have gotten new staff in membership and at the desks and with security. I don't know what is going on but with all these new security guards and the following you around if you don't sign in and they have seen your face day after day has just in my view fallen to unjustified fear. I don't want to go to a gym with tons of security guards or be flagged for not signing in right.

World class gym! I can't think of a single type of machine they don't have. It's never super busy and just has the laidback atmosphere you want at a gym. Well maintained basketball court is the icing on the cake. Locker rooms are always incredibly clean.

The JCC should be considered the gold standard, not only in gym services, but also in regards to crisis management. Their response to and action as a result of pandemics and tragedies has been timely, thoughtful, considerate, transparent, honest and action oriented. They are what everyone needs during these times of unrest, sadness, and frustrations and general feeling of unsettleness They bring a sense of stability, calm, and groundedness. I am so glad this little gem exists. The opening of their pool has been top notch so far... Just have to hope you get a lane, it's so popular!

I have been a member for many years because I live in Sq Hill and I want to support the JCC. I recently started using the gym, taking classes and best of all working out with a personal trainer. I must say I love the personal attention and I have been getting fit. I live close by but when it is raining I do drive and the underground parking is a treat. I have had good luck finding spots. Be careful to load the meter- because it is underground the meter guys like to hang out waiting. I have been super happy with my membership in the JCC. I also rented the upstairs event space for a private party and we were very happy with that as well. In the summer we have enjoyed driving to the outdoor pool in Monroeville- locker room is dated but the huge outdoor pool and diving board make up for the tired changing rooms.
