This place is amazing even for a local like myself. This was my first visit since I was in elementary school. The entire park has been redone and the museum is completely renovated. Beautiful land scapes on the outside and the entire history of the city on the inside. There are interactive displays through out plenty for young kids to get excited for.
I don't know if it's mechanical safety or covid-19 precautions but the tram to the top of the arch is closed. It would malfunction quite often long ago when I was a kid. They have big displays that show you the view from the top.
It's free to tour the museum but I believe the theater cost money. They also sell river cruise tickets, and offer a discount when purchasing all the tickets together. Even though it's free you still need a ticket because they limit the amount of time you can spend inside. Probably for capacity reasons. My children and I wore mask but it didn't seem like it was mandatory or enforced in anyway. My children ages 13, 9, and 6 all had a great time and said they learned a lot. Definitely a place everyone should visit locals and out of town folk.

Really cool place!! Buy tickets to the top early in the morning or the day before. Very busy and booked up later in the afternoon.

I love going to the Arch. Sharing the experience with my kids and grandchildren.

If you never been here and are ok with heights this should be on your bucket list. Its 630 ft tall and theres these tiny pod elevators that take you to the top that seat 5 poeple so if your fine with closed spaces for like 5 mins this is a sight to see!

Cool museum on the history of the arch and St. Louis in general.

Had to walk in hot sun fo1/2 to 3/4 miles. Stood in lines for an hr past tour time. No place to rest, many stairs. No help fo walk back. Nothing was mentioned, in the ticket office, that those with limited standing or walking abilities should not go! We were Very disappointed.

Beautiful on the banks of the Mississippi River ...

It's been years since I last visited, but there's been a lot of changes. New entrance, more security, bigger exhibits and space with expanded gift shops with eats and 2 locations for rides to the top of the arch running every 15 mins. Very organized and plenty of seating available and the entire museum is underground under the arch.

After the renovation all appears to be open and ready to go. New visited entrance is bright and open.

The museum is updated and exhibits are well done.

The classic part is the ride to the top as it is still the original carts that carry you up and down.

The only downside is not friendly to those with disabilities.

Great information about the history of the St. Louis area and the exploration of the western United States. There was a lot of information displayed in many different ways including interactive displays that my kids really enjoyed!

Spectacular redesign by the NPS that provides every visitor of every age a sense of exploration wonder.
So well done.

The arch was closed when we were there. The street level buildings were nice.

It was okay hottest day and no AC on. Drinks were good and we ended up just having appetizers.

GREAT CONSTRUCTIONS WORK

Do not miss a visit Arch if you coming in Saint Louis. They renovate the Arch museum underground last year and it looks much better. Inside is a shop with varieties and great souvenirs, and the prices are also acceptable. Unusual constructions work.

I just love the new renovations. The walk to the Arch is not as far as before and the new Museum is great! I was a "Tourist in my own town today". STL proud!

Was way better before the remodel. The grounds themselves are much nicer but the museum is lacking for sure.

It was nice to see this beautiful structure up close again.. Last time I came close was like 15 years ago on a class field trip.

The museum was neat and the view from the top was cool. However, communication about how long before your tour you should arrive was horrible. They did not tell us that we needed to be there a half hour early until we printed our tickets, so we had to skip the museum until after we went up. The tram car to get up was tiny, but that s understandable, and there was very little space at the top, also understandable. The miserable part, however, was that they allowed too many people go to and stay at the top at a time. There was barely room to walk around, let alone see out the view windows or take any pictures. People were standing on top of each other and blocking the windows waiting to get down. Save your money, skip the trip to the top, and look at pictures on the internet.

Visited area around redurbushed Archgrounds. Much nicer for tourist to safely manuever the grounds. Still not very accessible-friendly.

It's just amazing! If you have a national park pass, you can save money!!

Loved walking through the museum checking out all the history of how they made the arch

It was under construction when I went but I always wanted to check his out.

If you don't have time to see everything in the museum, the movie of the building of the arch is a must see.

Nice walking paths could use a bit more shade. Watch out for the stainless steel bits sticking out the front of the benches, on a hot day they will brand the back of your leg. There were sever vendors offering food and drink.

Very informative guides and a great gift shop and museum.

We were rushed due to the place closing, the museum was huge

It was really thrilling to view both the river and the city from the top of the arch. It was a fun trip. However, we were disappointed that the entire place was not very handicap friendly. In order to get to the arch trams, there were many (like 100) steps and no other way to get around them to the trams. My husband is able to do steps, slowly, but there was no extra consideration given to help him with the steps or anything (or the other ladies near us who also walked with canes). We stood in line (no place for them to sit, either) ... due to security we stood for half an hour just to get in ... again, no accomodations for those who have difficulty with that ... then stood in line at least half an hour for the tram to the top. By the time we got back down he was too spent to do any looking in the museum, which many have told us is the best part. But if you're young and healthy, do go here, because the view from the top is worth it!

It's nice to take photos at. The underground is super nice to visit too

Good luck trying to find parking especially if in an RV (we have class C). We even went across to the casino hoping to bring the tram back and they wouldn't let us park there. We left with a very disappointed 7 year old.

The newly renovated arch museum is simply spectacular! All of the exhibits have been updated with interactive features and beautiful imagery.

It was awsome I loved the view and the elevator going up was awsome how it shows all the stairs and the inside structure I loved the below from above and the tour guide was great

There is a museum right below the Arch that reveals amazing artifacts about Western expansion and conqoust of the West by the first settlets... Very interesting, colorful and informative!

This is a great place to visit in St. LOUIS, Missouri. The history and the arch are pretty amazing. Also, being on the bank of the Mississippi River is pretty cool. Just be careful on your way in because the road construction detours are extremely confusing and when your in an RV this downtown area feels like a snare. However, once your in it's we worth the visit.

A great tourist spot for all. Enjoy vtge scenic park, Informative free history display along with pay attractions of a theater and a ride to the top of the Gateway Arch. Well-worth the time. Don't miss a chance to visit the smallest National Park in the country.

Magical construction of ARCH. Salute to those engineers. Great achievement of those days. We enjoyed its internal ride and very joyful experience in AUG-2014. Thanks to my son (Ashish) and daughter inlaw (Manjiri) who make it possible to visit.

Great museum and small enough to get through and not overwhelming. Very well put together explaining the opening up of the West.

Such an incredible and breathtaking monument. At night it s stunning! Make sure you visit it while you re in St. Louis.

This is a SPECTACULAR place to visit! The Arch is 630 feet high and provides amazing views from the top. They have a museum that provides a lot of history of the area and how the Arch was constructed. I absolutely loved it.

Can't wait to go back. The arch is open but you have to get tickets in advance we didn't know so we didn't get to go up but still had a great at the Arch and the park.

Hadn't been since ~2006, all new exhibits, and much larger museum. If you plan to ride up to the top of the arch, call ahead and ask for wait times. Wait was 4 hours when we visited on a weekend.

Highly recommend the museum, film about arch construction, and the ride to the top. Make morning reservations to avoid the crowds, and arrive early to allow time for security and browsing. There is a small cafe in the museum offering basic quick bites which were just okay.

The Arch is a fun place to go with your family or even by yourself ! Before you get on the tram to go up to the top of the arch, you first go through a short security line and then you get to walk around the museum (which is underground !) which has educational exhibits on the history of the Arch and it has a place to eat and a decent size store to buy souvenirs and get old fashioned candy. I reccomend getting to the Arch early to have time to experience and enjoy the museum and store

A cool monument to see and the trip to the top was exciting. Worth checking out.

Since they did the renovations the place is beautiful and the Saint Louis Arch is the best Monument I have ever seen

It was extremely boring and mostly used as a time killer until your tour began
